I have seen the first few episodes of "The Chosen". Recently, I was confronted by some church members that recommended I not watch it. They said it is close to "creating an image" and by watching it, we put Jesus in a box, because the show would never capture what he was like and would do a huge injustice just by trying.

Anyone have any thoughts on it? I know I've heard some preachers have spoken out against it (not sure who) Curious to see what you all think.
Thanks in advance!
those church members are victims of "paralysis by analysis". they are overthinking! that's a very fine movie. superb acting, directing, producing, lighting, etc. 1 of the best out there. i saw it twice. preachers spoken out against it? holy heavens! how can a preacher do that? now more than ever, we Christians have to discern the spirits as 1st John teaches.

The Chosen isn't a movie. It's a television series.

I have seen season one a little of two,, the director said he's intent is to show how the peoples lives changed, not just focus on Jesus, an I think people have a hard time with him because his a mormon, and a indepent contractor on the set had a lgbq flag on his chair,

Where the production value is great for a change and the acting is acceptable....the Jesus that is portrayed in the series is not the same Jesus that I know.

The Apostles though is another story.
Where to most people who study the Bible they are cardboard cutout characatures....not really real people with normal attitudes, emotions and personalities. This series brings life into these 12 ordinary people and makes each one a person. Although I tend to disagree with some of their assessments of these people at times they at least are alive for a change.

What do you do if the meat's tainted? You can spit out all the bones you want and still get poisoned.

The newest season of The Chosen will include a more serious tone with a little sorrow and lots of surprises for fans, say two producers of the series who have been on the project since the first season.

The Chosen: Season 4 (episodes 1-3) launches in theaters February 1, with episodes 4-6 hitting theaters Feb. 15 and episodes 7-8 debuting Feb. 29. It is the first time that the full season of a television streaming series has debuted nationwide at the cinema.

The trailer, which has amassed 1.7 million views on YouTube, gives a hint of the plot, showing leaders plotting against Jesus, Judas stealing from the treasury and John the Baptist being led to his death. It also shows Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead and, in a separate scene, telling his followers, “Upon this rock I will build my church.” At the end of the trailer, Jesus is crying. On YouTube, the trailer soared to No. 2 on the platform’s “trending” chart.

The movie's poster depicts Jesus shedding a tear.

“Season 4 is a new path, so it's starting to get more serious,” co-executive producer Chris Juen told ChristianHeadlines. “We spent the first couple of seasons meeting all the disciples and getting going, but now … everything's kind of hitting a new level. There's some sorrow kicking in. It's a lot of royalty, a lot more color. …The storylines are hitting a much harder spot.”

If you want to watch it, watch it! Just remember it is a Hollywood Production, and NOT Scripture, and you will be fine IMO.

THEY ARE SOOOO WRONG!!! Yes, Dallas Jenkens takes artistic license in creating the series.... and they DO SAY this on the first video.
I have see this series more times than I can remember and each time I have been sooo blessed! I can't wait to see season 4.

If I may ask, why has it been such a blessing? What specifically about it has blessed you?

If you are eager to know Yeshua, and you really pay attention, (get beyond the artistic license) you see the story of Messiach, and the ones He chose to follow him. They "bring it to life" for me, so to speak. It helps me to understand what was going on at that time. That's what blesses me. and Thanks for asking... Cuz not only did I get inspired to work on my website, but I'm also going to do another binge watch of The Chosen again! Thanks!
