It may be anecdotal but I've heard ((for example of what you are saying)) that in ancient Rome unwanted babies were dumped in trash heaps, a primitive form of abortion.

And that Christians didn't try to get involved in politics to try to outlaw the practice. they just went to the dumps and adopted the children.

eventually societal norms changed as more people in the population were converted - not by law but by nature.
but we know by prophecy the world will only grow more and more wicked - does that mean we are supposed to become modern pharisees and seek worldly powers to enforce an outward morality on an inwardly immoral people??

sounds idiotic to me. but maybe that's just me. I believe we should focus on people, not politics.
Perhaps you should review your prophesy. If the world is just getting worse and worse, cut your arm off the next time your finger gets infected. Tomorrow, saddle up your horse and go to work. And, or course, put on your best robe. You will want to look your best.

USA Christians stepped back from politics after WWII. Setting back waiting for rapture and now we have this mess.
Luk_19:13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

That is a false conclusion. Promoting evil and wickedness is not a matter of "secular" politics but a matter of spiritual warfare. The Democrats have declared war on America, as well as war on Christians. Of course, now you are between a rock and a hard place, since to support Democrats today is to be a minion of Satan.
You’ve touched on the actual problem here.

In the first two centuries of American life, there was general agreement, by a very large proportion of the population, that there has to be a CONCRETE set of moral rules in order for a society and our Constitution to work.

It was again generally agreed that this concrete set of immovable rules would come from the Bible. Even most of secular America understood this.

From about the late 1960s til today, that no longer is the case. We live in a society that is literally breaking apart at the seams, because we now have ZERO immovable rules.

A system of floating morals, where every man does what is right in his own eyes.

It appears to be impossible to turn this ship around that is sinking into foul sewage.

Yes, voting against the insanely evil and satanic democrats helps, but the apparatus to keep the demons in power, and I include many republicans in that as well, is now firmly entrenched.

We are now solely in a position of saving through the Gospel those who we can.

It's always darkest before the dawn. It must seem impossible generally before people turn to God. It's easier just to give up.

But all is not lost. God is never unprepared and never loses. Walk by faith and not by sight. God is on the move. So take some time to be still and know that He is God.

Really? As a percentage of over 334 million? You must be fantasizing daily.
a VERY generous estimate of the percentage of people who share the same view that will actually take the time to participate in an organized march in DC is 1%.

for example around 10k people were at the January 6 riots and polling shows about 40% of Americans at that time believed Trumps lies about the election, or about 130,000,000 - so the capitol rioters actually only accounted for about 0.007% of people who shared their views.

per your source around 10k people protested for abortion rights. so at a minimum they represented 100,000,000 people who agree with their cause. if we take the similarly sized group of rioters on Jan 6 as a representative sample than in fact almost half the country wants abortion to be legalized, which actually agrees with polling data.

over 160 million people is a heck of a lot more than 1% of the US population, dude. you are way off base in this thread.

The point is: if the commission is successful, people from all walks of life will be converted, and all of society will be transformed.
They will be preaching Christ by the way they live.
Yes

And my point is, this kind of change is a change in mores by the transformation of individual morality, not by the enforcement of legislation aimed at trying to make a wicked people act righteous when police are around.

We were not saved by works but by grace; neither shall the world be - Christian involvement in worldly politics is at best misguided and at worst, inherently wicked and definitively unbelieving.

God has said the world will have a cup of iniquity overflowing at the brim when He returns.

whitewashing tombs is not the work He called us to.

so we should neither be surprised, nor dismayed, nor ignorant or deceitfully naive about the increasing wickedness of the world. we should be sober and wise about it, and forgiving, kind, and merciful to those in it.

IMO the view @Nehemiah6 is putting here, a common view in the modern world, the platform of the evil secular R party, is deceitfully abominable. Antichrist will deceive many, appearing to be the voice of God - if it were possible to deceive the elect, he will pull it off. this he will deceive will be those who are without knowledge. he's not going to be overtly anti-god, but a slick deception, convincing people he is the voice of reason and false righteousness: just like the pharisees outwardly appeared 'good' and to the unlearned, seemed to speak for right things.

Antichrist ain't going to be an atheist. he will put on a show acting like he's religious, and it will be 100% lies that a huge number of people will swallow and parrot. he will know full well that he is directly opposing the true God, lying through his teeth to try to drag true believers along with him, and he will think, just like Satan, that he is going to win.

sheep liked to call Obama Antichrist. far from it. the real Antichrist will be much closer to Trump - not that I think either of them are that man of sin, but that when he appears, he's going to play to the majority of the so-called-church, and drag as many of them to hell as he can. it's going to look like he's representing them. it's going to be subtle.

i am fully aware this view makes me incredibly unpopular among modern nominal secular evangelicals lol - I have been to the 'news' forum

I disagree. Because Christians have not taken the lead in all areas of society, society itself is corrupt in every area.
Christian scientists would not have allowed the pandemic. Christian law enforcement would promote unity among races. Christian bankers wouldn't fund woke organizations. I could go on all night. Righteousness exalts a nation. But if the righteous neglect positions of leadership, a nation will stumble and eventually fall.
God gave a decree for His people to be fruitful and multiply. If His people had a quiver full of children and raised them in the fear and admonition of the Lord, then unleashed them on societies we would be living in a much different world.

I disagree with this too. That cup was for Israel, not the church. Sometime take a look at history. Adam and Eve frolicked with God in the garden. But once sin came, it became increasingly more difficult to get to God. He talked with a few. Then he began to speak through prophets. No longer could people bring their offering to God directly like Cain and Abel. They needed priests to get to God. Even the temple was set up to make it difficult to get to God. There was an outer court for Gentiles. Then a court for Jewish women. Then a court for Jewish men. Then a court for priests. Then the Holy of Holies where 1 priest could go once a year.
Then suddenly the veil is rent. We all are kings and priests. We have access to the throne room of God. We have the indwelling Spirit and need not every man to teach his neighbor. God Himself instructs us.
Look how difficult life was in the time of Christ. Huge portions of the day were dedicated to tasks we have machines for.

Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. The moment He said it is finished that began. I know people are taught that things must get terrible before Christ returns. But the opposite is actually true. He will return when all things are made whole and placed under His feet.
