What is still not clear to me is what God wants done about a marriage to someone who pulls away from God. What does scripture say?
According To The Current Gospel Of Grace, In The Revelation Of The Mystery:

"And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the
wife depart from her husband: But and if she depart, let her remain
unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband
put away his wife. But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother
hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him,
let him not put her away.
And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he
be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. For the unbelieving
husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified
by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or sister is not
under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace."
(1 Corinthians 7:10)
Amen.

Ezra ordered all the Israelites to divorce their foreign wives. Ezra 10:2.

A large group of Israelites returned to Jerusalem from Babylon to rebuild the temple, and live a life true to the Lord. Ezra was their a high priest, leading the people.

In Ezra 9 we are told of his reaction when he learned that many Israelites had married foreign wives that would bring idol worship and foreign ways to Israel. An order was given to all Irael to “put away” these foreign wives and their children.

If it was God’s will that these wives be “put away, does that mean that the Lord is not always against divorce?
God is ALWAYS AGAINST SIN. Two married people wouldn't be getting divorced unless SIN was rampant in their relationship. Divorce, however, isn't a "Super sin". It's just "another sin".

And then you've got 1 Cor 7:27,28 where Paul teaches that you shouldn't seek divorce from your wife, but if you re-marry it's not SIN, but you'll have trouble in the flesh.

In my opinion the real question here is not whether it is sin to divorce or not - but rather if it is allowed for a man today to find himself a new wife, when the old one still lives. The answer is no. If he parts from his current wife, he lives in sin if he finds himself a new one. But when she is dead, he is free. The marriage lasts only "until death do them apart".

If they choose to part, they must be ready to live a life in celibacy - or, if one or both of them cannot do that, rather find back together. It will be impossible to "find back together" if one of the two marries an other woman.

It is a mystery to me, why several churches today accepts divorce and remarriage. I cannot see which words from the Bible that could justify such an action.
