The effective evangelists go to the people and preach the gospel. The evangelical churches of late that I have either attended or am familiar with are trying to use programs to get the unbelievers interested enough to go to church. The hope is that they will hear the gospel and get saved. I've seen folks saved both ways, but most people are best off going soul winning. There's prescribed details in the Bible about this. You really have to get involved in an independent Baptist church that actively has that ministry. I know of no others, including most IFB churches, that are doing this any more.
