New here. Not sure if I want Christianity, but at the same time, I do want it. If that makes sense. Just looking to chat I guess. The word of God fascinates me, but is it just a fairy tale? This world is dire. Hopeless. A mess. Is there anything in this world worth a damn thing anymore? I feel it getting worse and I have much more experience with the dark than the light. I know the dark exists but there seems to be so little light left.

We all came from the dark ...some of us the really dark side ...but man-o-man ....the light not only saved a lot of our tails, it has been an absolute thrill to walk in the light of the resurrection perfection that Christ made available.

Welcome to CC, @rnthorpe ! You’ve come to the right place to chat, for sure! Is the Word of God a fairy tale? Definitely not. Too many things were written about in prophetic scripture way before they actually came to pass to be coincidence. Is this world worth anything anymore? Yes. To God, it definitely is—worth enough to die for. I agree that dark exists, but you—yes you —can be a light for someone else if you let the Light in. Consider that if the Word fascinates you, it may be because your Father, your Creator, who knew you before you were even born, is calling you. He will speak to you from the pages— just read and see.

Hi and welcome to CC!!! So good you were led to sign on here, so kick back and browse the Forums. Way back when Adam&Eve bit the fruit, we all fell into a fallen state. That's why God sent His Son Jesus to be the light of the world. In His name we can receive that eternal guarantee to be lights in this world and have eternal life when we accept Jesus. It's so nice to know we'll never be separated from our loved ones. God bless your family and get to know Jesus through the Bible, His Words are spirit and life🙏.

Hello! The word of God is really fascinating. It looks like just a fairy tale but it's actually very alive. It sees what's in the heart of man. If you embrace it, you'll get wisdom and you will witness how the word of God becomes alive in you. You experience the great blessings of God that is worth more than all the treasures of the earth. You will have eternal life to look forward to, therefore you have peace and would not fear dying because you will know that once you die, you are going to heaven.

This world is indeed a mess. Even King Solomon called all things vanity. All the pursuit to a fulfilling life in this world is vexation of spirit. People want to enjoy temporary things and want to live in pleasure now but later perish. But one day all will come to judgment how we all lived in this world. The proud will be humbled. The point is life is nothing, a waste without God in you. You have no hope. So seek him while he may be found. There will come a time when it's already too late. We don't know how much time we have on earth. Just ponder upon how vanity life really is.

Seek God because he said those who seek him shall find him. Seek him with all your heart. It's all worth it! 🙂

As you say, the world is darkly evil and a high price had to be paid for its redemption. This price was paid 2000 years ago, but every man must come humbly before the Lord and receive it on an individaul basis. If a man rejects this mercy and grace offered to him by God, he will be held accountable for it.

Becoming a child of God is not offered as an alternative lifestyle. It is required of man by His Maker.
