Just a cool thought...

God showed Noah his "back parts." What could this be?

Genesis 33
21 And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

I believe this is God taking Moses back to the creation, what God has already accomplished. God was not willing to show his face, the future of what he would do for that nation of Israel. Earlier, Moses was pleading with the Lord to show him what would become of his people and that God would give them grace as they went forth.

13 Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people.
14 And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.
15 And he said unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.
16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.

Furthermore, in the book of Job, we get a hint of parts of his ways as what the Lord has done in the past, his back parts.

Job 26
11 The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.
12 He divideth the sea with his power, and by his understanding he smiteth through the proud.
13 By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.
14 Lo, these are parts of his ways: but how little a portion is heard of him? but the thunder of his power who can understand?

Oh man, yes of course.
I would trick my kids when they were little by asking them how many of each animal did Moses take on the ark. Concentrating on the number and not the name they invariably got it wrong.
Also, secretly I was hoping it was Noah and I had missed it and was getting ready to read Genesis again.

I really like this Viewpoint. I will definitely research more about it.
But, can you explain how this View came about?
How did it enter your mind?
And once it did enter your mind, how soon, did the Word of God just come Alive confirming to you?

A good friend of mine led me to this during a Bible discussion. As God took John forward in the future to see revelation and write about it, so too did God take Moses back in the past so he could write about it. There’s more coming on this subject.

I am loving the comparisons here between John and Moses for sure!

correction, EXO 33 not GEN 33 just to point out.

So check this out. I have been playing with this Concept and I discovered a Perfect use for it.
I was debating Evolution, and the Idea the Bible defines Evolution as the Method God used.

So here is what I presented with Your Verses, Your thoughts, and my Ending:

I've been working on a Concept concerning when Moses was shown God's BACKSIDE, but not His FACE:

Exodus 33

21 And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:

22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:

16 For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy people have found grace in thy sight? is it not in that thou goest with us? so shall we be separated, I and thy people, from all the people that are upon the face of the earth.

In this Concept, Moses is shown by God, the Creation, which Moses would later write down as he formatted the Torah.

Essentially, just as the Apostle John saw the FUTURE to Come in Revelation, Moses, when seeing the BACKSIDE of History, saw the actual Creation and wrote what he saw.

And, if we take by what we read in the Torah, and apply this to what Moses saw when God revealed His Creation to Moses. It's clear, Moses, DID NOT SEE Evolution, but God SPEAKING things into Existence.

It's been days and these Evolution idiots have flat out disappeared. So, there's Something to this if we keep it Specifically about How God Created.

Personally , just my thinking, no scripture about this, my first impression when I read the mentioned verse of the O.P.

Exo 33:20 And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

was that if we saw the LORD's face we could die of shame!

All we had done wrong in our lives would be overwhelmingly accusing us in his presence!

To illustrate, I knew this man once, he was my Boss, the director of one of the departments of medicine, he had this extraordinary power, we, his employees knew when he was angry!
( almost always) He projected these "angry vibes" very strongly. We laughed about this but we knew exactly when he was near the building, the mood of everyone changed and we knew he was coming in the building, he came in some days but not always at the same time, but trust me, when you saw everybody run and close their office or lab doors, you knew and felt the boss was in...

With GOD I think being in his presence you would feel his perfection, his total love for us his Glory, his holiness! Moses when he came back from meeting with the LORD (appeared as burning bush) on mount sinai where he received the commandments shone with Light!

Moses had to cover his face!

Exo 34:29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.
Exo 34:30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.
Exo 34:31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them.
Exo 34:32 And afterward all the children of Israel came nigh: and he gave them in commandment all that the LORD had spoken with him in mount Sinai.
Exo 34:33 And till Moses had done speaking with them, he put a vail on his face.
Exo 34:34 But when Moses went in before the LORD to speak with him, he took the vail off, until he came out. And he came out, and spake unto the children of Israel that which he was commanded.

Being in the presence of the lord must be an overwhelming experience, The Lord's holiness cannot be understood by men.

Blessings

Hi @The_Watchers_2017,

I've not seen enough of your posts to know who you are or where you stand on things, but I like your ability to grasp similarities between believers, (i.e. Moses & John) and to note the consistency of how God deals with people who are willing to believe He can show them things about Himself if they seek him diligently.

I'm not trying to stir up argument, but in seeking God's face about HOW He created things, what he's shown me points to a progression from lesser to greater (aka what could be called evolution) AS a method God often employs (and still does) in creating things. I know that's a TOUCHY subject but it doesn't seem like it should be untouch-able. Your thoughts? ...if you're willing to discuss. Thanks.

Love in Jesus,
Kelby

Or, possibly, God was protecting Moses, and saving his life. Had Moses seen Gods face, he would have died. So God placed him in a safe place, covered him with his protective hand, and as He passed by, Moses could see the back of God........but NOT His face

dunno, reads that way to me

So, his back side is less glorious?
