was reading a memoir by Wallis Simpson (THAT woman)
apparently she went to an exclusive private all girls high school in Baltimore. None of her classmates went on to college. They were all trained to marry. This is what girls did back in the 1910s

She married three times and divorced twice...she became like a professional wife. All her husbands had plenty of £££$$$

Ive observed a lot of women treat marriage like some kind of trading up game. if your first doesnt work out, get a divorce and go on to the second. Its possibly the same for men ('starter wives' etc) but it seems girls get trained to be either mrs or mistresses at all girls schools ('charm school') . Wallis didnt learn anything beyond basic arithmetic, it seems she couldnt even add or multiply, but she could do 'marketing' .ie. shopping.

She never learned history and was totally ignorant about the protocols of the British royal family. In her memoir, she instantly decided to get married in a stately home because the furniture and decor was to her liking.

Found a book in my library its a lesbian romance about two girls who meet at a private girls school

There was also a gay romance about two boys who both go to a boys school. Coincidence?

Anyway I just shelve them under 'school stories' or 'drama' along with all the others.

I have separate sections now for horror and fantasy although it seems the schools for those are all co-ed.

A single-sex school would be a logical setting for a trashy and lascivious gay-romance fantasy novel. Implying some sort of causation here is as about as willy-nilly as saying that the movie "Brokeback Mountain" is evidence that becoming a Cowboy turns people gay... or that any setting in any gay-porn is a causative factor in the gay-people's gayness.

Am going to a boys school tomorrow for a librarians meeting. Should be interesting.

Boys cant sit seem to sit still when they are together unlike girls. They'll chase each other round the room or wherever, poke each other, or fist fight.

Girls tend to just gossip or play cards, or write nasty notes about each other.

ok the two librarians at the boys school said the boys can get quite rowdy at lunchtimes in the library. I can imagine all the testosterone cannot be contained in one building. Quite a big library though

By contrast the girls school across the way, their library doesnt exist anymore because mould as found in it and it got condemned!

I am giving books to the girls school, they said they would take anything...however they did say some of the girls cant actually be 'out' in their community which is predominately Christian. But that doesnt mean there are no LBQTIAs at their school.

The boys school has a library that is named after their late librarian who was well loved and may be the only one in the country that has honored their librarian in this way.

I suggest having bouncers for the boys school library.

Or...the boys and girls school could join up, and the boys school could SHARE their big library with the girls school. Radical idea? They might quiet down too, if girls use it too.

I noticed a couple always come into use the library after school and in breaks pretending to do their study but really they just want to flirt with each other and secretly hold hands.

Should I separate them for not being focused on their school work?

hmm the girls school still hasnt replied to my email..?

Im wondering of there were any high school that were initially co-ed that decided to separate the girls from the boys as they got bigger. I can sort of see the rationale for it...boys ARE annoying.

But then girls are bossy.

I noticed two girls ganging up on a boy trying to tell him what to do when he was being my library monitor.
I had to say leave him alone to do his job and stop pestering him. It wasnt THEIR day to do it.

Maybe I should actually separate the library into one area for boys and one for girls. Have to be at least 2 metres apart. Maybe they should learn what restraining orders are early?

I remember the other girls school rejected me cos they said I didnt have experience with teen girls. Despite me clearly remembering what it was like to be a teen girl myself.
the angst! The drama!
Reading my sisters sweet valley high books and Dolly magazines. All the confusion over makeup and hair! Annoying boys!
Girls stealing each others boyfriends and besties, cliques and sororities. HEATHERS

why cant they just share the library with the boys school?

ok the boys school is a bit of a hike to get to and the girls school just need to build up their collection again.

if the girls and boys school got together there would be a huge spike in teen pregnancies apparently.
Well I am already slated to cover maternity leave but as long as I dont fall pregnant as well I should be fine.
