Actually,
Knowing many different owners of Christian forums the way that I do....the vast majority do it as a service to God. Ones like the popular CF dot com do it as a money making venture and that guy does not have a really good relationship with God. (He has been trying to buy others) Also notice the huge huge lack of Christian morality reflected in the moderation.
CF dot net tries but doesn't really have a good clue for human interaction.
The rest do it just for various good reasons and they barely break even with a blend of ads and donations to cover the costs.
Once upon a time the singles section paid more than the costs....but with forums like Reddit and Facebook groups...not any more. Forums like this one run at a loss.

Uh... That directly contradicts what you said before.

Not saying you're wrong about this forum. I'm just saying... You said if the service is free, you are the product. That blanket statement threw a pretty large blanket.

LibreOffice, Audacity music editor, almost every Linux distro, tons of chats and forums... Lots of stuff is legit free because there are cool people out there.

I do quizzes but dont cheat by looking up the answers straight away. I think about them and rack my brains first.

I dont think theres any fun in cheating so dont do it. I think maybe you have to be a bit desperate to cheat.

Mystery novels Im not much of a fan because I would really want to skip to the ending if its too long and drawn out, but if it holds my interest I start from the beginning and read through to the end.

Fun question S.

I am wondering though why in the US they call him Wheres Waldo while in the Uk he's Wally? Is there any reason? Is it anything to do with Walmart?

With respect to non-competitive video gaming; cheat-codes etc. Are cool, but you're supposed to beat the game without them first.

Looking up a Rubik's cube solution is somewhat lame, but understandable. It's better to learn how to solve it methodically, though.

Word-searches are too easy for cheating... but with cross-words I'll probably not know all the answers to, so I'd have to look it up eventually.

Depends on the game. Pac-man, contra, dark souls, elden ring and the like are ruined by cheat codes. If you use cheat codes for those games, why do you even bother playing them?

With games that have a really good story, but gameplay you find frustrating, I can much more easily see using cheats.
