Dr. Charles Stanley finally got to go home to the Lord today, April 18, 2023 at 7:30am. Here's the Memorial webpage. Please click on his name to go to the memorial:

He was my absolute favorite pastor of all time. Got me through so many difficult times with his godly encouragement - he was "Jesus with skin on".

I'm glad Dr. Stanley is home with the Lord now and at rest in Him. He also get to finally get to know his biological father who died when Dr. Stanley was only 9 months old. And he will see his biological mother again who was a major influence in his life to choose God and live for Him.

I'm just sad because there was no pastor more gentle and loving to me than he was. I think God knew he was going home soon because just yesterday I was getting all this email from In Touch about Dr. Charles Stanley and for a fleeting moment, I thought, "God please don't let him go home just yet. I'm not ready to let him go...." But the Lord's will be done! I will ever trust the Lord....

Just a very Biblically based, straight forward preacher. A quiet and encouraging spirit, made the Gospel plain enough a child could understand. We are going to miss these men of God as they age. Hopefully someone else will head the call and stand in the gap for this generation.

I read one of his books it was so helpful to me as a new believer. I heard he had a hard life I didnt know much about his own family God really did transform him. I love hearing stories of how He turns lives around.

It was a shock to me he was divorced though I do think that in the US pastors of large churches are treated like superstars so its hard to imagine someone being married in that role. Maybe something had to give. I dont think less of him because of this because it actually happens to many christians. i went to a church once that it seemed half of its members were divorced or seprated and widowed. The ones who were divorced still went to church and their ex spouses just went to a different church. Although I do know of couples that both just went to different churches, and of course pastors children often went to different churches. It just happpens...like children in one family often go to all different schools.

I was talking with a close friend who attends Stanley's church.

After much talk and reflection on his great life of service, we came to the same conclusion:
no one in the universe is having a better day right now than Charles Stanley.
: )

he became my 1st favorite preacher-teacher back in 96'. he & adrian rogers, i think, are amongst the top modern era teachers! most certainly, we all hope his ministry carries on. for now, we lost a great influence. i became born again in 93' but didn't listen to "teaching" until 96' & didn't listen to Christian music til 2013.

Dr. Charles Stanley is so dearly loved! There was a celebration service at First Baptist Church, Atlanta. It started out with a series of pictures of him throughout his life. I've always been curious what he looked like when he was younger - I think he was so handsome, but always something so sweet and kind about him!

Lots of music with well known singers, such as CeCe Winans and also featured one of my favorite worship songs, "Surely Goodness and Mercy" (Psalm 23). There are also some surprisingly well known guest speakers talking about their experiences with Dr. Charles, including President Trump, Pastor Chuck Swindoll, various pastors from all over the US including Dr. David Jeremiah, and Franklin Graham and more.

There were lots of wonderful and funny memories of Dr. Charles Stanley and a showcase of some of his favorite songs. It was also deeply touching too because a good number of the guest speakers' voices started to quiver like they're trying not to cry - but that just goes to show how wonderful Dr. Charles Stanley was and how much he was dearly loved.

At the ending, they sang one of Dr. Charles Stanley's ultimate favorite hymns, "I'll Fly Away" where they show him in an old sermon video singing along with the choir leader because he loved the song so much! It was a sweet, but triumphant send off!

I hope you enjoy this last celebration tribute!

We're losing a lot of well known people in these last few days.

Dr. Stanley surely loved the Lord. Now he's there in Heaven likely saying, now listen to this, to his many parishioners that had gone on before.

God bless you Dr.Stanley. You shall be missed. Our loss is Heaven's gain.

Rest in peace. He was one of the few TV preachers who in my opinion wasn't a complete con artist
