I agree with you about Joel Osteen, but there needs to be a balance, a balance which will bring us into repentance. It is the Fear of God which puts us on the right path, but it's our Love of God...which will keep us there
What the unsaved need to hear are the words of Christ: EXCEPT YE REPENT YE SHALL ALL LIKEWISE PERISH... IF YE BELIEVE NOT THAT I AM YE SHALL DIE IN YOUR SINS.

(Romans 15:19-20)
Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ. Yea, so have I strived to preach the gospel, not where Christ was named, lest I should build upon another man's foundation.

You see here, Paul also addresses the problem. Pastors are building on another man's foundation, not the one on which Paul built his. Which according to him, is the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Why was this foundation, the one Paul built his Gospel?
Because Jesus is "The Author of Salvation"...
And.....In the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Jesus tells us exactly "What we must do to be saved".

Now...If you want to argue this fact, show me where Jesus taught, "Grace" doesn't come through our obedience to God. And.....I will show you where Jesus taught the exact opposite. (John 14:21)
Titus 2:11-13 For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. 12 It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope—the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ,

God says that no one has an excuse of not knowing God -----

1681509286736.jpeg

I say
Now as far as hearing the Gospel -----today there are so many Missionaries around the Word that the gospel is being preached even into the remote jungle areas -----so not many will not have been informed about Jesus -----and the need to receive Him to be Saved -----

How the Gospel reached the brutal “Skull Splitters” tribe in the Amazon
https://www.godreports.com/2018/09/...e-brutal-skull-splitters-tribe-in-the-amazon/
By Mark Ellis —

Yanomami village
The warriors from the Skull Splitter tribe walked 10 days on foot from a village deep in the Amazon jungle because they wanted to find someone who would tell them about the Son of God.

interesting Read -----read all for yourselves ---I just posted this part -----

https://bible.org/seriespage/lesson-11-god-s-impartial-judgment-romans-212-16

God’s Impartial Judgment (Romans 2:12-16)

If you’ve talked with people about the gospel, you’ve heard the question, “Is God fair to judge those who have never heard about Jesus Christ?” Will they go to hell because they did not believe in Jesus when they never heard of Him? Another variation of the question is, “Won’t those who have done the best that they could do get into heaven?”

I say----and here is the thing -----all unbelievers will go through the 7 year Tribulation and all People in this world will Here the Gospel Preached so there will be no one not knowing about Salvation ---all will have a chance to accept or reject Jesus and they will reap the decision they make -----

God will show no favoritism and the end of the 7 year Tribulation -----all people will have chosen their own Fate -------

I do understand what you mean, but no one can truly obey God by ourselves. We need God's help.
This is very true...for we must face Satan, whose power turned 1/3 of the angels against God.
A very formidable foe...Indeed! There is no way we can overcome him,...without the help of God.
But the bible speaks of the Overcomer...those who overcome Satan, so...there must be a way.
But how??
Through a relationship with God, through that relationship we receive a power,....a power with which we can....overcome the Evil One.
What is that Power??
LOVE

But very few overcome Satan...because most doctrines do not teach folks how and, "How to have a relationship with God." And how that relationship causes us to grow in the Grace of God.
A Grace, when full grown, becomes a power great enough....to overcome Satan.
Why are the churches not teaching the believer, what they must do to be in a relationship with God??
Because the vast majority do not believe in the Teachings of Jesus Christ, where these teaching are found.
Now they will not admit this, but little study of the Gospel of Christ reveals this fact.
God knew this beforehand, and this is why we receive the Gift of the Holy Spirit. God doesn't trust men...and neither should you!! So don't try to blame them on Judgment Day...for God will not accept any of our excuses.

But again....the irony, though God gives us a teacher, to teach us of spiritual things....we look to these same men, to teach us how to be taught by the Holy Spirit.
But not to fret....God made it easy to learn from the Holy Spirit. So easy you don't even need to know how to read or write, speak in Hebrew of in Greek..or speak at all. So easy a child could do it!!
All we need to do, to get on the right path....is to confess your sin, daily. And the second..... listen to the guidance of the Spirit, that guidance missing in the lives of those who haven't confessed their sin in many years. Then you must keep the Lords commandments....those he gives to you through the Holy Spirit.

Easy... Easy...Easy...
Any questions...I'll be here.

Ive always had a hard time with the teaching of the turn or burn gospel.
In short preaching a loving GOD that demands that you believe or are cast into everlasting torment seems to me to be a oxy moron.
Is there something I'm missing?
Ive discovered something the Lord may have pointed to that may be what is missing but first would like to hear others view points.
Eternal damnation is a heavey price to pay which is what the wages of sin brings.
In this day and age as the nations are being addressed by their actions by God it has shown me a great deal of proofs of simple truths. Which we can share later on.
You either have to believe wholeheartedly that at the end of the day turn or burn is the very truth, or have done with it altogether because if that is what you believe when you are sharing the gospel you will get trapped into admitting it's what you ultimately believe.

Have done with it.

The gospel message is that on the last day Jesus will gather every person who has ever lived and judge them with equity, that is perfect fairness. It is true the wicked will be turned into hell. I'm not afraid to say so ... but only God can judge it.

People know if they are wicked.

Let's substitute "Christendom" for "the Church". So are you saying that most churches are failing to preach the true Gospel, which includes God's command to repent, and also includes eternal damnation for those who will not repent? If that is the case, I would agree. A watered down Gospel has been substituted in many denominations for the true Gospel. Then we have the Prosperity Gospel deceiving many. But then we also have the false gospel of Calvinism. And then we have a gospel which claims that salvation is by faith + works.

It's good to preach just punishment. Jesus talked about more and less stripes. Besides they will be spirits not in the body of pain so fire is more spiritual. But the rich man said I am in torment when he was in hell. People only get punished according to their works. Not everyone's hell is the same.

Hello!

In short preaching a loving GOD that demands that you believe or are cast into everlasting torment seems to me to be a oxy moron.
Is there something I'm missing?
John 3:16 tells us that the whosoever may come to the Lord, the invitation is open to everyone, anyone. The only people who are excluded from salvation are those who refuse it. God is not willing that any should perish.

Eternal damnation is a heavey price to pay which is what the wages of sin brings.
What else to do with an unrepentant sinner? If an unrepentant sinner were allowed into the heavenly place it would soon become hellish. What loving shepherd would allow a wolf free access to the sheep-pen? Don't think damnation for the wolf, think protection for the sheep and lambs. God Bless You :)

I stood back for a time on this thread to read the replys and meditate on them.
Gods judgement is rightous without a doubt. I do not disagree with scripture at all.
I find it very hard to express what i mean in this thread but do hold to the turn or burn message to be harnful more than helpful.
Let us remember that our Lord preached to a population that knew of GOD and the law. As far as the gentiles that heard the message a number of them could of been the (God fearers) or those who were in the outer court of the temple but heard and beleived also in the hebrew GOD.
In short it was a culture that was God or gods conscious.
The greeks even though they had pagan gods were aware of a higher deity even though it was pagan.
Which brings me to today.... people which are also turning towards pagan thought and customs.
Which has opened up the door for demonic forces and influence.
Many people dont even know what repentance is or even what it means. Wolf churches and heirlings have polluted the true gospel.
How can a society who cant even recognize what sex they are and call good evil and evil good possibly understand why they will be judged. When the schools they attend and the educators they hear say they came from evolution.
Let alone the polluted gospel messages they hear of self help, social justice, woke gospel, all inclusiveness, works gospel, ect.
The Lord said my people fail for lack of knowledge. We need to understand what were dealing with. Its been at least 4 generations that have primarily went there own way. Now we reap what is sowned.
Train up a child in the way they should, says the proverb yet how many even now say when fhey are older let them choose, ...or have you heard this one....i want to be friends with my children,...
Gods heart is for his people but listen saints....time of the gentiles has not yet come...so there are still brothers and sisters out there waiting to happen. Theres still a harvest yet to yield.
God has chosen us for such a time as this or you would of not been born in this time. Speak up, reach out, God will do the rest.
Let me leave you with this quote from president Regan.

Evil is powerless when good is unafraid.

This song is what ive turned in to prayer for todays world.

We silly people are all different... Mom only had to give my brother the LOOK. I needed the 2 by 4 up side my head. Some folks may need turn or burn, some a Holy Spirit hug .

Jud 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Jud 1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
Jud 1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

Turn of burn is Gospel.

What doesn't often come to mind is the OT passage and what happens after people die. There's no distinction between sinner or saved.

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Ecclesiastes+12&version=NET
Ecclesiastes 12

5...because man goes to his eternal home,[w]
and the mourners go about in the streets—
6 before the silver cord is removed,
or the golden bowl is broken,
or the pitcher is shattered at the well,[x]
or the water wheel[y] is broken at the cistern—
7 and the dust returns to the earth as it was,
and the life’s breath[z] returns to God who gave it.

FOOTNOTE

tn Or “spirit.” The likely referent is the life’s breath that originates with God. See Eccl 3:19, as well as Gen 2:7; 6:17; 7:22.

The Bible tells us what's really going on. We just have to step out of churchianity and recognize what God revealed. 😊❤️🌈

The Children of Abraham are a perfect example of how the, "Turn or Burn" Gospel...doesn't work.
They feared God, the Wrath of God further impute that fear.
How many of you have ever experienced the wrath of God ??
Answer..
No a single person who has lived in the past 2,000 years.

So, tell me..
How does a "Hell Fire and Brimstone" teaching...impute a greater fear of God in the hearer, than the fear God imputed in those....who experienced his Wrath??
Why did the fear of God not lead the Children of Abraham to righteousness?
Because they only feared God, because they did not love God, they treated God like he was the merciless CEO of a business. A do what I tell you to do, "pay you", proposition. And if you do not do what I tell you to do, I will kill you. This distorted view of God, caused them to Hate God....with the few exceptions of men like Noah, Moses, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They did what God wanted them to do, because they loved God.
This is what the Parable in (Luke 19:12-27) is addressing...and Paul breaks down in (Romans 11)
....if anyone is interested.

Fear works for a day or so .... The fear of the Lord is a different thing to this, it is godly reverence.

God doesn't work on human emotions at all [preachers do] He speaks the truth in love and truth resonates.

You don't believe the prosperity gospel?o_O didn't you read St Johns commentary on psalm 23?
"Beloved the Good Shepherd willest above all things that thou mayest be in health and prosper even as thy soul prospereth"

I come from a different place, a voice [I must say] crying in the wilderness.

I believe in the 1, 000 years.

For almost 2, 000 years the church has set this doctrine aside, worse they have supplanted it with amillennialism.

You can't do that

Just take a major doctrine out of the gospel, The gospel becomes a jigsaw from which a third of the pieces are missing or a third do not fit properly. Some things simply do not make sense or else have to be put in by violence. You rejoice greatly in those pieces that do fit and we have two thirds of the picture but fret and worry and squabble and fight over the remaining third.
This is what the Roman Catholic doctrine of amillennialism has done. IF

IF you believe in the 1, 000 years then you can no longer accept the interpretation the church has put upon Matthew 25 the sheeps and goats and the Great White Throne judgement of Revelations 21. No way. For down through the centuries the church has accepted Jerome's Roman Catholic interpretation that the church stands in this judgement ... No way

We'll have been raptured a 1, 000 years prior and will have reigned with Christ in glory for a 1, 000 years we are as John says passed from judgement to life. Paul teaches that when Christ comes to judge God will bring us with Him.

We are there alright, we are "these My brethren" by who both the sheeps and goats are judged.

So you have to ponder now .... who are these righteous sheeps?

Oh the church doesn't want to do this, too much trouble, best just to say "turn or burn" if it is offensive to people and to God, well who cares about that?

You don't believe the prosperity gospel?
The Prosperity Gospel as promoted by those who do so is meant to merely prosper the preacher. They then flaunt their wealth. This is contrary to Scripture.

Taken altogether, there are by far more passages that speak to the end of life as the final
wage of sin than any that say anything along the lines of eternal conscious torment.

Proverbs 10:25~ When the whirlwind passes, the wicked is no more, but the righteous has an everlasting foundation.
