All the people who have commented on my op so far in terms of replying to me this is the only one im going to apply to.
As my last post answers them all.

Hi somedeciple friend nice to meet you, it's a pleasure to talk to you today about the gift of prophecy.

When you say it's not optional are you talking about Jonah when God punished him for not obeying his commands.
Jonah does come to mind. I mean, I'm not saying it CANT be optional, I just don't know of anyone in the bible that was like "No" when God called them to do something; and then it ended well for them.
You have Jonah, and then you have Balaam who tried to play games with God; then the un-named prophet who went back the way he came when God told him not to, and then he got eaten by a lion.... it just seems like whenever there is a prophet that doesn't follow instructions, something bad happens to them.

that's why discipleship is important. 1cor chapter 12 says this many do not understand and think it means something else

27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.
28 And God has appointed these in the church:

first apostles,
second prophets,
third teachers,
after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues.
29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers?
Are all workers of miracles?
30 Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret?

31 But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I show you a more excellent way.

What is the best gift? The one that is needed to get the job done. you have a bunch of sick people the gift of healing is needed not Prophesying or tongues. Does it mean you are a healer if the gift of healing is done through you? NO! It means you were a willing part of the body of Christ to be used by the Holy Spirit to bring forth healing :)

The best gift is the one that is needed at the time.

Jesus healed when healing was needed, and Jesus did miracles when they were needed like the feeding of the thousands Jesus did not cast out devils to make fish sandwiches. Jesus didn't walk on water to open blind eyes. If you are empowered with the Holy Spirit you can ask the Lord to help you in the time of need.
Amen!!

Well first thing is God has told me to take my phone with my camera on live and tell him your being filmed live to YouTube where hundreds of people are going to be watching.

Then God has said he will give me the words to say.

I'm seriously thinking about doing it.

God knows I have suffered for one year. I feel it's the reason why he revealed world wide lock down to me befor it happend.

Prophecy is a gift given to edify members of the body of Christ. In I Corinthians 14, we see that prophecies are to be spoken in church to edify the church. But if an unbeliever or unlearned person comes in and all prophesy, he hears the secrets of his heart made manifest and says that God is truly among you.

I'm not saying that what you describe cannot happen. It's just prophecy can be used in other ways, and it is also to edify the body of Christ.
God gifts people in many ways tho, not just the gifts of the holy spirit in terms of healing or prohesy or preaching.

But in terms of skills in employment or renewing our minds daily.

Or becoming highly creative.

The prophecy of the op was Just one way a prophecy could work for an unbelieving atheist.

But prophesying to our oppressed brothers with a 3 hour long prayer full of the prophesies fulfilled and all the wonders of how God rewards those who please him . Could truly send them to sleep,
Is this not the gift of prophecy to.

Oh, I see. Youtube does reach a lot of people; and it can definitely use good content; lord knows there isn't a shortage of junk on there.

I'll stick to the clear words of the bible.

What have you witnessed? Incoherent gibberish and babbling supposedly tongues? Tongues in the bible were known, earthly tongues. Have you witnessed actual miracles? Had someone straightened another's leg before your eyes? Or prophesied beyond what the complete word of God says? What EXACTLY have you and others witnessed or performed?

Good answer which says it all and proves the point: the gifts have ceased and you have no idea what you're talking about. πŸ‘‹ goodbye

In the New Testament we have Jesus and His Disciples. Then those Disciples become Apostles. Then we discover those Apostles had Disciples [Apostle John had Ignateus, Ireneaus, Polycarp, and few others we now know as Church Fathers] and we have 300 solid years of Church Father's.

These guys had First Hand experience and were Taught directly and indirectly from the Apostles.

There's a list where the majority of Church Father's claim the Perfect to Come is when we see the resurrected Jesus.

So,if you believe cessation and the fulfillment was the Bible...hahahahahahahahahahaha ok, you really don't know what you are talking about pertaining to the Gifts have ended.

I was raised Baptist, so I will politely say, take that Cessation HILLBILLY DOCTRINE and shove it where the sun never shines...

I started visiting Twitter after Musk purchased it and promised free speech. Whenever I see a tweet from someone who claims the title "prophet" I block that account. That pretty much sums up my thoughts on modern day prophets.
Sadly there is so much abuse and fakes running around that they give what is real a bad name. The devil loves to cause confusion

If signs a wonders do still exist they're doing a good job of concealing themselves. Everyone always says there are true signs and wonders and false; but when it comes time for the rubber to meet the road, the true signs and wonders never seem to materialize, at least not where everyone can see. When Jesus and the apostles performed signs, everyone saw it and the news of it spread like wildfire. Nowadays "true" signs and wonders stay stealthily hidden, except to a few folks who already believe.

Why don't you stick to the clear words of the Bible when it comes to spiritual gifts, then? The Bible mentions certain spiritual gits and says they are given as the Spirit wills. You would have us believe that they are not. So I'll stick with the clear words of the Bible.

What have you witnessed? Incoherent gibberish and babbling supposedly tongues? Tongues in the bible were known, earthly tongues.
In Acts 2, people present understood the languages. In I Corinthians 14, the situation was that one would speak a language others present did not understand. Paul contrasted doing so with speaking with his mind, so apparently the speaker did not understanding the language. The language is to be interpreted by a gift of the Spirit, and the interpretation edifies the congregation.

Paul also suggested the possibility of speaking in the tongues of men and of angels. He doesn't give much commentary on that, but the possibility is mentioned. I haven't heard it myself, but I have spoken with and corresponded with a number of people who have heard 'speaking in tongues' in a language they knew. There were numerous accounts of this happening at Azusa Street and at other meetings during the early days of the Pentecostal movement. You could read about it in 'The Apostolic Faith', the newsletter of the Azusa Street Revival.

Have you witnessed actual miracles? Had someone straightened another's leg before your eyes?
I've talked with numerous people about past healings, healed from deafness, from being in a wheelchair from lupus. And also, people will say they were healed from something internal that I can't see with my own eyes. But most ailments aren't something you can see physically. But there was one gril back when I was in middle school and went to a Christian school, who had a serious visual impairment. Her eyes were severely crossed. She wore 'coke bottle' glasses that magnified the size of her eyes if she looked at you. She had obvious eyesight problems, and not regular near-sightedness. An evangelist came to our church, and near the end of the meeting shared a testimony about cancers falling off a woman he'd laid hands on in Chicago. So he laid hands on the sick. It was a large church, and this night there were a lot of guests. He walked one woman out of a wheelchair. I'd never noticed her there before and I didn't know if she could walk without the wheelchair or not. It was really crowded up front where he was praying for the sick, injured, etc.

But the next day I went to our church-affiliated Christian school. Before school, if we got there a bit early, we had to wait outside for them to open the doors. I was talking to another child who said that the girl I mentioned with the vision problems had been healed. I went over by her parents car where she was waiting, and she had no glasses on. Her eyes looked normal. I asked her what happened. She told me about the preacher laying hands on her and eyes being healed.

Or prophesied beyond what the complete word of God says?
The way you word your question causes me to think you may have some ideas about the role of the Bible vis a vis spiritual gifts that are not taught anywhere in scripture, or that rest on a bizarre misinterpretation that makes it mean something different from what it meant to the original audience (e.g. ofII Timothy 3).

Acts and I Corinthians 14 gives us a hint at the type of prophecies that were spoken in churches. We don't have the text of those prophecies in our scriptures. Agabus said something about an upcoming famine. We don't know what else he or the other prophets prophesied in Antioch... because it isn't in scripture. We know that there were supposed to be various prophecies spoken in church meetings as per I Corinthians 14. But those various prophecies aren't in the Bible. It doesn't tell us specific secrets of the hearts of unbelievers that visited the assembly that a prophecy might be about. Those aren't in scripture. The Bible is rather clear that not all these types of prophecies are recorded in scripture.

It's easy to mock and insult untruth. Jesus wasn't too kind with the money changers, or with the scribes and Pharisees. Are you performing miracles or do you just speak incoherent gibberish as do most that claim they have the gifts of the Spirit?

Yes and that is very sad for you. So easy to mock and insult. But that is not what I asked you. I can see you have the usual gift of ignorance and superstition concerning the work of the Holy Spirit so no need to confirm it.

What I actually asked you, was this: Where in the Bible do the clear words tell you to mock and insult?

There is no problem with asking questions or being honestly unconvinced or ignorant of what scripture states. People who mock like you are doing are afraid (God forbid they should speak in tongues. TOO proud to do that), have lost their fear of God or believe God is as small as they are.

There are no words in scripture that teach us to do what you are doing. The scribes and pharisees have nothing to do with this conversation. Do you identify with them?

Have some coffee. Nowhere in scripture are we told to ask for signs and wonders. In fact, it is a reprehensible thing to do.

Who is everyone in your post here? The only people I see asking for 'proof', for that is what 'signs and wonders' are really all about, are cessationists, scoffers and those ignorant of scripture. Those who are filled with the Holy Spirit and actually have a gift or two or are used at times in others, are not asking for signs and wonders.

We asked for the Holy Spirit and received Him. Are there fakes? Many. Abuse? Much.

You sound disappointed in that your signs and wonders are nowhere to be seen. They did not seem to really help the Israelites either.

Maybe we just all should really seek Jesus and allow God to work as He will through His Spirit.

Yes, I have seen and experienced some of what the Bible describes as to how the Holy Spirit would work through people, but you were not there. This does not negate what I know to be true. You are not omnipresent.

Do you consider the apostles' prayer to be reprehensible?

Acts 4:30
By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

There was no real response to the Biblical truth we have all provided to a few here who keep asking for performance. As if God needs their validating His ability today to heal through HIS church. Just notice the lack of Biblical refuting to what many of us have said.

I asked one to tell us about what God has done in their life he has not yet even said anything, just scoffing and mocking. I provided many scriptures to support my Biblical understanding in Post 30. They made only attacks and name calling like mature children :) let them be.
