On Earth Yet In Heaven...

Many are like Nicodemus they can not conceive of the fact that being born again involves water and Spirit. (John 3:5, Acts 2:38) Jesus told Nicodemus if he did not believe what Jesus said about the rebirth, he would not believe heavenly things either. Notice the heavenly thing Jesus said Nicodemus would not understand. It is referenced in verse 13; the Son of Man (Jesus) was in heaven yet standing right in front of him. (John 3:13)

Understanding God's truth requires being led by the Holy Spirit. First from the outside, and later from the inside when the Holy Spirit has come to dwell within one's body. Being led into ALL truth requires the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit

"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4 Nicodemus saith unto him, HOW CAN A MAN BE BORN WHEN HE IS OLD? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

Jesus answers Nicodemus' question in verse 5:

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be?
10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?
11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, EVEN THE SON OF MAN WHICH IS IN HEAVEN." John 3:3-13

That is not what Jesus said. From John 3 ~

5 Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water
and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised
at my saying, ‘You must be born again.’ 8 The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you
cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”

9 “How can this be?” Nicodemus asked.

10 “You are Israel’s teacher,” said Jesus, “and do you not understand these things? 11 Very truly I tell you,
we speak of what we know, and we testify to what we have seen, but still you people do not accept our
testimony. 12 I have spoken to you of earthly things and you do not believe; how then will you believe if
I speak of heavenly things? 13 No one has ever gone into heaven except the one who came from heaven—
the Son of Man. 14 Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up,
15 that everyone who believes may have eternal life in him.”

“It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
