Jesus fulfilled many of the legacies/doctrines of the Old Testament. It is often said that Jesus was hidden in the Old Testament but made clear in the New Testament.

Jesus clearly stated that He was present in Old Testament Scripture, He said in John 5:39, “You [Jewish people] diligently study the Scriptures…. These are the Scriptures that testify about me.”

So, it should be no surprise that the Passover of the Old Testament is fulfilled, by Jesus, in the New Testament.

Understand the importance of the Passover to the Jewish people. God sent His ‘Angel of Death’ to destroy all the ‘First Born’ in Egypt, in order to gain the Israelites their freedom from slavery.

Each Jewish household was to mark their door frame with lamb’s blood, and the Angel of Death would passover that house. They would be saved by the ‘Blood of the Lamb’.

God instructed the Jews to eternally commemorate this passover, with the annual ‘Passover Feast/Ceremony’. The Jewish people were to choose an ‘unblemished lamb’ for the ceremony. And, after three days they would slaughter the lamb, making sure that none of the lamb’s bones were broken.

Jesus’ fulfillment; Jesus entered Jerusalem, for the Feast of the Passover. Crowds went wild, they chose Him, proclaiming Him as the Messiah. And, of course, Jesus was perfect and without blemish.

Three days later, Jesus was slaughtered, sacrificed. And He was crucified at the very hour when the Jews were slaughtering their Passover lambs. It was ordered that His bones be broken to hasten His death. However, He has already died and so not a bone in His body was broken.

Thus the fulfillment of the Old Testament Passover. We are now saved from an eternal death and slavery from sin, by the new sacrifice, the sacrifice of the true ‘Lamb of God’, Jesus Christ.

Saved by the ‘Blood of the Lamb’!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a you know how Israel was told to keep the Passover every year as a continual remembrance of him delivering them from death in Egypt like your talking about ?

christians are also told to do something in remembrance of him

“For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: and when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me. For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord's death till he come. Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord. But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭11:23-30‬ ‭

As we see this actually has tangible effect and isn’t ceremonial
