why arent the widows connecting with each other eg misery loves company?

In my experience many widowed ladies are horrible to be around and have as friends they dont make the best companions if they still grieving or bitter about their husbands death. The happier ones have their children and grandchildren around to look after them. even living with them.

There are lots of widows and widowers in churches. When one of the churches pastors wife died his grandson came to live with him. He was kind of grumpy but he would have been grumpier all by himself!

sorry seems like a terrible thing to say but if you are widowed you keep your family you do still have closer thats what they are there for. Thats why parents DO need to get along with their children

I think it doesn't matter what the medium is for dating whether it be in person or online.
Success in dating has a lot to do with one's personality, timing, luck and/or providence.

the visual contact on a 1st date tells much. you can discern quite a bit by viewing your date by facial gesticulations & other mannerisms you can't detect on line. even the sound of her voice has a play in decision. & certainly you can't see her body on line, remember looks for a man is gigantically important. what she says, how she says it & her body movements when she says something all go into a possible date.

good thing my wife asked me out 1st. before that, i had the world's worst record. must have asked out 100 girls, got 95 rejections.
I've asked out, in the real world, approximately a dozen during the course of my life. I'm batting .000.

Try being in your early 70s, a widower, yet in good physical and spiritual shape. Then try living without intimacy after enjoying it for 40+ years. I don't mean sex ,either. I mean the loss of friendship, companionship and completeness. I trust non of you feel as empty as I feel right npow

I do understand. It’s hard being alone when you have experienced (true) intimacy. It’s like there’s a piece of you missing. So then, what? I’m not sure. What I do know is that I want to do it Gods way.

I was alone when I first joined this site in 2014 having recently lost my late second wife. You are wise in wanting to do things God's way. Glad to have you as part of our family. Welcome to CC.
