What are your relationship dealbreakers?

For me addictions are a red flag, alcohol, smoking or drugs definate deal breaker. Because they lead to unnecessary problems and issues that don't profit anything.

But I love animals, cats, dogs, cows, horses, pigs, sheep and chickens.

Unless that cow is butting my leg with it's head, than I prefer it on my dinner plate lol

I was reading Matthew Perry's memoir (he played Chandler in the Friends tv series) where he wrote about his addiction.

I cant to imagine being married to someone who is constantly getting high and so addicted that they will fake pain just to be in hospital to get the opiate drugs. Or if hes somewhere raiding other peoples medicine cabinets to get his hit. Or drinking EVERY night. Or always thinking about his next smoke. And thrn ending up having five surgeries to fix his ailing liver, colostomy bag or whatever. Or paying millions to be in rehab and not even addressing the issue.

I dont think I would be able to cope with that as another memoir put it, She is not your rehab. Where the wife has to deal with that but at least keeps her husband from dying from his addiction by covering for him. (and giving up her own life in the process)

I mean maybe a wife can do all those and save her husband from stupidity but the children dont really sign up for their dad being a druggie.

My dealbreakers are:
- being self-centered and not empathetic
- opposite political views
- racism, sexism, homophobia, ableism, or any type of hate
- incompatible life plans (e.g. wanting to move to a different country)
- inability to apologize
- inability to give each other space when needed

Is this even a thing?

Absolutely. There are plenty of people who are shunned by their family, bullied or beaten because of their sexuality, just to name a few things.

Yes, it's a label for people who believe in traditional marriage between a man and a woman and that their is only 2 genders male and female like God said in Genesis.

More like a label for people who perform act of violence or hate. I hope you acknowledge that this is a real thing that happens.

It is both, either, or neither, depending on who is using the term.

I'm sure it happens but those aren't true Christians who do that. But people who call homosexuality a sin are called homophobes like Canadian said. We must be compassionate but we can't lose our saltiness as Christians.

I suppose it's possible, people can do pretty evil stuff.

I would not want to be with a guy who follows provocatively dressed women on social media.

Well, for me, she must be able to produce many eggs. Oh, and a long and sinewy tail is truly a blood-pumper! But, if she can't exhale radioactive plasma or carry a good reptilian conversation, I'm outta there.

phobias in general are hard to deal with... they can be irrational, whatever the phobia is.

If you dislike something so much to the point that it takes over your life and you are constantly focusing on how much you dislike/hate or fear something, you arent truly living YOUR life.
