No need to be a holier than thou **edited**.

I didn't even have to look, called it. Male, not married. What's wrong with these men lately? No learning, no manners, just spew whatever comes into their heads, no filter all attitude. So immature. And they wonder why they are still single. Dino is not a "holier than thou" person, judgement call much? Watch your responses, or you won't find yourself here long.

Yeah ok. With supposed “Christians” like you, who needs the world. Go burn in hell.

what about the wife who gets beat up in a marriage? how long is she supposed to get beat up? why can't she get married again when she did nothing wrong?
The Bible at least gives concrete support for separation for the woman.

1 Corinthians 7:10,11 (KJV)

10And unto the married I command, yet not I, but the Lord, Let not the wife depart from her husband:

11But and if she depart, let her remain unmarried, or be reconciled to her husband: and let not the husband put away his wife.

The goal is for reconciliation, but if that is not possible she can remain "unmarried". And, the husband must accept the wife if/whenever she decides to come back.

Yet, I believe most women will stay with the husband despite abuse for financial reasons, which is a good reason for women to be educated and be employable.

Back then, men were divorcing women for cooking a bad dinner. Given the context, I believe Jesus said divorce should be limited to adultery to protect women, not to somehow limit women (and women could not divorce men to begin with).

Women were not allowed to divorce anyway (or more technically, issue the divorce bill) back then for whatever reason but probably due to reasons such as patriarchy and women being unable to support themselves. However, they were allowed to separate which is the next "best" option as pointed above.

No woman should endure her husband beating on her. Such a wife needs to dump such a husband. I see no scriptural reason why such a woman cannot eventually be led by God to a such a man who would be loving and faithful.

indeed! that's what i'm saying also. no woman should have to suffer for the rest of her life without a husband because she was beaten.

It’s actually sad how many “Christians” are extremely biblically illiterate. What you stated above is true - biblically. Man sometimes has other ideas that they think trump the Word of God.
What are some of your ideas that do not trump the Word of God?

To me, a husband who abuses his wife should be considered unfaithful, and therefore, after divorce, can possibly be led by God to a man who would be loving and faithful to her.

He's correct. No matter the circumstances, the Bible is silent on the topic.
That doesn't mean a woman or children should remain in the same place of harm. They should
leave and find safety. But abuse, in and of itself, is not a cause given for biblical divorce.
Hardness of heart is why divorce was allowed in the first place...

If that were the standard then anyone can remarry. Kind if like irreconcilable differences. No doubt it is the underlying motive but I wouldn't want to stand before God saying my heart made me do it.

I simply commented on what Jesus said was the reason why divorce was allowed at all...

There are many reasons why a marriage can end. I believe what God wants is for us to be happy and to bring love and joy in other people's life. If that journey includes another marriage, I'm sure God blesses it

No genuine Christian would tell another person to "Go burn in hell" without their own conscience being pricked. Fortunately you have the opportunity to repent and apologize.

Doesn't have the brains God gave a goose. I don't think either of will hold our breath for an apology. Not mature enough for that. I ignore temper tantrums, no matter what the age. But thank you for the sentiment.
