It is also strange that the DHS or FBI would bring up an accusation of smuggling weapons through Mexico only to now say he was arrested because of his visa status.
The DHS and FBI are now manufacturing excuses to do whatever is LAWLESS. All government agencies have become totally lawless, so if they cook up one story and then change it to something else do not be surprised. These are all part of the AMERICAN GESTAPO now. Truth and justice do not matter any longer. Tyranny is the only thing that counts.

I've heard people talked smack about him. I also wondered if he crossed the border. he said something about Mexico. Did he go there? Can a refugee leave the country?

It's possible that they detained him for one reason, but gave him another reason. As a refugee, he doesn't have full rights.

Almost A YEAR in Jail With No Bond and No Charges | Torben Sondergaard Update From Prison 6/21/2023

Important Mini-Doc On Torben's Persecutors

Court updates can be found here
_________________________________________________________
notes:

1. One of Torben's persecutors named an Orlando ICE officer, as well as European nationals, as contacts re: accusations of Torben in a sworn deposition and could not provide evidence of their various accusations (have you been helping spread their lies without any evidence or reason other than bluster on youtube?)

2. ICE seems eager to avoid a fair, Federal Writ of Habeas Corpus imo from their recent attempt to apparently coerce Torben

3. Another one of the relevant persecutors is said to have contacts in the U.S. Gov.

4. Torben was told he would be in jail two - three years ago by the ^ said relevant persecutor

5. Torben has been in ICE's MacClenny Fl. prison longer than any other prisoner since he arrived there, yet still no charges

etc.

No, Torben is not the only one going through this in a general sense, but a year in jail despite no charges for an non-violent, harmless evangelist seems at least "rare" if not unique for modern American immigration in my lay opinion.

Update - CONGRESSMAN Clay Higgins: "We Believe This [Biden] Administration" Has PERSECUTED Torben Sondergaard | CONGRESSIONAL RECORD of Torben's ONE YEAR In Prison

Looks like the truth is getting out.

Torben recently was denied his motion to stay, however he still has a case in the 11th Circuit.

I also believe this is, in part, from corruption in the Government, and I believe this story is going to get bigger.
Thanks for praying if you have, and please continue to do so.

He’s in jail (ICE detention) because he overstayed his visa, because he broke the law not because he’s “Christian”. The reason it’s been so long is because he’s appealing an asylum denial (fled from Denmark of all places claiming religious persecution 🤣)
He’s just a con man trying to work the system but don’t worry he’ll be fine, he’ll write a book and go on tour with Todd and Benny
From what I saw online, the Department of Homeland security revoked some paperwork without telling him, and when they did so, that meant he had overstayed his visa. He didn't have a visa in his passport and overstay it. They made a decision that put him in an overstay situation, from what I heard online.

And some western countries do at time persecute Christians, as they do in Canada with Christians who speak out against sexual perversion. A TV station did a hit piece on Torben Skandergaard, painting him in a really bad way. Some of the countries with state churches do not care much for Pentecostal and evangelical types who aren't a part of the state church.

Glad this is finally getting some attention. We should not oppress foreigners. This one jumped through the hoops he was given, and was put in jail for a year.

?? - Don't mean to quibble but J Edgar Hoover, who was (arguably) absolutely insane and drunk on power ran the FBI from 1924- 1972. The idea that the FBI's despicable tactics and behavior are "new" is absurd, IMHO.

Does FBI stand for "Federal Bureau of Investigation" or "Following Biden's Instructions?"

Total lawlessness is certainly new.

Rom 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil.

Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power ? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:

:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good.

But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.

:7 Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

Don't you think that Paul is not suggesting to offer a promotion to honor an evil government, Paul is very clear - honor and obey the governments who do good works- who fight evil - who are ministers to good and God

tribute to whom tribute is due; - fear to whom fear; - honour to whom honour.

In 2022, Søndergaard was placed in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement where he was accused of smuggling guns from Mexico, where he had established a Bible school, to the US.[1] Søndergaard may face deportation to Denmark. Søndergaard's team later announced that there was a "miscommunication" and Søndergaard was never accused of gun smuggling and was actually detained because of a visa overstay violation. Torben Sondergaard was allegedly sent to detainment until his asylum case is decided by a US immigration judge on the basis that he was a flight risk and the judge did not believe that he would be granted asylum. Søndergaard to this day claims he does not know why he is detained. Søndergaard could dismiss his asylum case at any time and be deported back to Denmark.

On the 16th of December 2022, a US federal immigration judge denied Torben Søndergaard asylum to the USA. He denied it on the grounds that there was no evidence of any past persecution that he endured in Denmark, and therefore there would be no reason to believe there will be future persecution if he was sent back to Denmark. As it seems the US will be deporting Søndergaard shortly, his wife Lene Søndergaard has posted on his Facebook page stating that Søndergaard will be seeking to appeal the judge's decision to deny him asylum. [10]

The case appeal was dismissed by a US judge, on May 2, 2023. After his appeal was denied, Torben later filed a federal appeal of his asylum case on May 16th, 2023[11]. Additionally, he filed a habeas corpus suit against 6 different government entities including ICE, Homeland Security and the Department of Justice on April 28th, 2023[12]. On the 27th of July, 2023, Sondergaard dropped his Habeas Corpus suit by way of voluntary dismissal. As of July 31st, 2023, Torben Sondergaard has been denied a stay of removal in his federal appeal court case and is now awaiting the outcome of his federal appeal.

was never accused of gun smuggling
"There is ZERO reference to weapons smuggling or any other crimes in the documents that have been provided."

yes

"was never accused of gun smuggling"

no, if rationalwiki means any form of accusation;

"He narrated a specific comment the arresting agent said, “…they suddenly said that the real reason I was there was because they had been notified that I was smuggling weapons from Mexico to America, and I was in shock.”"

and was actually detained because of a visa overstay violation
potential misconception: they admitted he simply overstayed his visa

truth: Torben's team maintains that there is a harassment campaign that has followed Torben from Denmark related to his detention, involving people giving false accusations of Torben that led to the cancelation of his visa before he even knew and was even able to leave in response.

Søndergaard to this day claims he does not know why he is detained.
Because to this day there is no explanation as to how he is a flight risk
and no criminal charges

Søndergaard could dismiss his asylum case at any time and be deported back to Denmark.
sure, all he'd have to do is stop casting out demons, and he would not violate any danish psychological violence laws

As opposed to America where, in theory, there is freedom to do this.
Torben's team disputes this, decide for yourself if you agree with this ruling

And again, notice the absence of any criminal charges (visa overstay is not a criminal charge or a national threat per se) or explanation on why Torben is a flight risk here

It was his own lawyers/press/spin doctors that said this, on his own behalf.

so do i believe what he said about himself or what his adulators said?

he can leave any time he wants to.
all he has to do is drop his case.
he's a flight risk because he fled his home country to avoid multiple criminal charges there.

bottom line is that he is not in jail for being a Christian. he is in jail because he wants to be; he's making money off this and it's postponing his deportation back to his own country to face all the things he's criminally charged with there.

If he was really an apostle, as he claims to be, he should be rejoicing to have a chance to witness to people in prison, and he would not be trying to get money from anyone at all. for any reason. and he also never would have fled the legal troubles in his own country; he would have submitted himself to the authorities God put in place over him.

That's the example of scripture.

Ahem.

full quote:

It was his own lawyers/press/spin doctors that said this, on his own behalf.
Please cite the statement you're referring to
the only thing close to rationalwiki's claim is this

"There is ZERO reference to weapons smuggling or any other crimes in the documents that have been provided."

where "Søndergaard was never accused of gun smuggling" is absent from the entire page

His lawyer has said that his arrest was related to other bogus defamations in North Carolina but has not stated he was never accused by anyone of smuggling.

he can leave any time he wants to.
all he has to do is drop his case.
the question is if he would be persecuted for his faith if he went back
as Denmark is different on what "psychological violence" is, where it can result in years of jail time

and the proposal of the given^ law essentially singled out Torben's ministry by Danish Parliament, citing selectively edited clips from a Danish documentary

he's a flight risk because he fled his home country to avoid multiple criminal charges there.
never mind that "criminal charges" can vary in ethics from country to country
please show where ICE says this.

And for that matter please show what criminal charges you are talking about
he is in jail because he wants to be; he's making money off this
conveniently missing Torben being a flight risk for over a year for without any given reason, the dangers of your ministry being considered "quackery" in Denmark for casting out demons, and the only thing that seems to stand out about him is his Christian ministry.
If he was really an apostle
where does Torben claim to be an apostle
this is a strawman created by rationalwiki and their audience

if this man is truly in jail for being a believer @BreatheFocusBet i have one question:

why aren't you?

Honestly I think demon possessed Americans are protecting other demons from deliverance in this case,
Perhaps this will be sporadic, yet still anti-Christian
Perhaps others are next

my question for you is have you ever read this verse
Matthew 12:36But I tell you that men will give an account on the day of judgment for every careless word they have spoken. 37For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

In light of the most recent exchange here,
First, please be prayerful and discern people by their fruit, as people misrepresent themselves sometimes and are misrepresented by others.

Persecution in Denmark

In 2019, a documentary was made about certain ministries in Denmark that included deceptively edited video of a deliverance involving Torben Sondergaard and The Last Reformation (TLR), an open ministry ran by Torben.

This led to national criticisms in Denmark, including from a children's welfare organization, of Torben based on a provably false narrative.
It also led to Danish Parliament openly referring to Torben as engaging in "psychological violence" -
- In proposal of a law that could result in years of imprisonment for "psychological violence" and that criminalizes deliverance -
as well as an investigation for "quackery" or fraudulent medical practices in TLR which did not result in any charges

Torben was also questioned by a municipal officer regarding an accusation of child abuse.

This is related to a harassment campaign by a former TLR affiliate and a French national that have falsely accused TLR of various crimes, likely including the said child abuse accusation, and sent threatening emails including one threatening to put Torben in jail after moving to America. Both appeared in the said documentary and the French national likely even helped fund it.

Torben was warned at some point by a friend that the government had planned to have him arrested.

Imprisonment In America

To avoid future legal trouble from false witnesses, Torben and his family sought asylum in the United States in 2019 where he was eventually granted a work visa, however, his visa was revoked after false accusations were made to Homeland Security while Torben was living in North Carolina. However they did not inform him of this which resulted in him illegally being in America before he could leave in response to his visa being revoked. Despite this, Torben has not been charged with any crimes in America.

Torben was, however, arrested by an FBI agent with the Joint Terrorism Task Force and imprisoned in MacClenny, Florida's ICE detention center since late June of 2022. When he was arrested, he was told that it was related to an accusation of smuggling weapons through Mexico. ICE later said that his arrest was because of Visa Overstay and did not included this accusation in the documents given to Torben's team or deny it.

He was denied bond by an immigration judge citing him as a "flight risk" despite having no criminal charges and his ministry, however no reason was given why. Congressman Clay Higgins (R-LA) has stated that Torben is being persecuted for his Christian Faith.

Torben has appealed his imprisonment in federal court, however his motion to stay in America was denied. It is important to note that the immigration judge's ruling and the federal appeal were not predictable and in a way unprecedented, therefore it was very reasonable, at first, to expect to be at least out on bond relatively soon as opposed to needing to go back to Denmark and the potential persecution there for practicing his Christian Faith, potentially forfeiting future attempts to seek asylum in America.

It is unclear whether Torben will stay in America through his plea in the 11th Circuit, or will soon be deported. Torben has been in ICE's MacClenny Detention center longer than any other prisoner since he as gotten there, despite no criminal charges.

Deposition Against Former Student

Furthermore, in a defamation suit against a former TLR affiliate and youtuber that frequently accuses Torben of crimes such as tax evasion and rape, the former student said under oath that he had no support for his accusations, and described contact with "European nationals" that hired private investigators for TLR and an "Orlando based ICE officer" that both have given him information about Torben, Torben's lawyer reports.

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Thank you for reading, and please pray for Torben and all of those who are being persecuted, in Jesus' name.
