Romans 2:6-8
God “will repay each one according to his deeds.” To those who by perseverance in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality, He will give eternal life. But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and follow wickedness, there will be wrath and anger.
Romans 2:12
All who sin apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.
Revelation 22:12
“Behold, I am coming soon, and My reward is with Me, to give to each one according to what he has done.
James 2:20
O foolish man, do you want evidence that faith without deeds is worthless?
Galatians 6:7-9
Do not be deceived: God is not to be mocked. Whatever a man sows, he will reap in return. The one who sows to please his flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; but the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
Let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
Amen.
Romans 2:12
All who sin
apart from the law will also perish apart from the law, and all who sin under the law will be judged by the law.”
See that part Christian’s aren’t under the law , and aren’t going to be judged by Moses law but rather the gospel has revealed mankinds judge and judgement
“He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
John 12:48-50
We can choose Moses if we choose the law but it’s going to mean an accusation
“Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father:
there is one that accuseth you, even Moses, in whom ye trust. For
had ye believed Moses, ye would have believed me: for he wrote of me.”
John 5:45-46 KJV
See moses understood the messiahs words would judge the people and not his
“
I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and
will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.”
Deuteronomy 18:18-19 KJV
moses understood way back then that Jesus words would be the words God requires of his people Peter understood also
“For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.”
Acts 3:22-24, 26 KJV
“And
he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins. While
Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.”
Acts 10:42-44 KJV
As did Paul
“And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”
Acts 17:30-31 KJV
my point is we aren’t going to be judged by Moses words in the law , but by Christs words in the gospel.
So we don’t want to think we’re going to be judged by the law we aren’t we already were and we died to it and belong to another now
at he importance is big because Jesus taught contrary judgements to Moses for instance if we follow the law of Moses laws of marriage and divorce , if we keep his law we’re going to be guilty of adultery according to Jesus words about marriage and divorce
It’s important to know which testament word we belong to because they are for two different purposes one imputes every sin without mercy or pardon to make men guilty before God
The other remits sin and offers grace and mercy and truth to teach us life and promise us salvation
