Hello ChristianStudyAttempt, welcome to CChat! I'm glad that you found us and joined in the discussions with us Thank you for telling us a little bit about yourself too
As for moving away from sin and towards righteousness, I think that you are on the right track For instance (in small part),
Psalm 1
1 How blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked,
Nor stand in the path of sinners,
Nor sit in the seat of scoffers!
2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
3 He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water,
Which yields its fruit in its season
And its leaf does not wither;
And in whatever he does, he prospers.
Psalm 119
9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Thy word.
11 Thy word I have ~treasured/hidden~ in my heart, that I may not sin against Thee.
John 17
17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.
Romans 12
2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed ~by the renewing of your mind~, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
God bless you!! (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24)
~Deuteronomy
p.s. - the practice of our Christian spiritual disciplines (e.g. Bible Study, Prayer, Fellowship and Witnessing) continues to help me in my daily walk before Him, but nothing has come close to the profound difference that memory work (of specific verses and passages) has made (especially in walking further and further away from sin, in BOTH deed and thought). If you'd like to know more, just PM me (as I would be happy to help you get started if you'd like me to). e.g. The Navigators' Topical Memory System (Apple and Android apps of The Navigators' TMS are now available AND recommended, just FYI)
