I have done keto in the past for a month or so and reaped much benefit in that short time that I felt that I should do it again.

I am wondering if anyone has experience with keto and has any recipes or sound advice to stay encouraged in it.

Hi Ruby...No more juices for me...I learned my body does not know the diff between natural sugars and sugar cane , so I let that go...Keto is a very low carb way of eating...It is a great way to deal with sickness of all kinds...Sugar in foods , cause so much inflammatory in the body , something many people are not aware of , so high carb foods are not good for our bodies , and many are waken up to this...Lovely to hear from you sister...Maybe give up your juicing and go Keto :giggle: , it is very tasty and satisfying , and never ever boring...xox...

I have been meaning to look it up but keep forgetting lol. I was under the wrong impression that it is the high protein diet for some reason. Perhaps that is called something else. Always good to hear from you too Rosemary and miss your pics and posts when you would cook and post with a pic.

When we had a medical issue in our home last year we did a lot of keto style/inspired foods
Spaghetti squash, topped with chicken breast and tomato sauce was a fave.
I used a jarred sauce that had a low carb/sugar count (Rao's), so I don't know how true keto that was, but it was a hit in my house.

I am eating: sirloin burgers, pork chops, whole eggs, cheese, avocadoes (super low available carbs), frozen mixed veggies in the bag (broccoli cauliflower mushrooms etc etc all super low carb mix - 3 mins in nuker), pickled beets (small portion) and tons of raw fresh parsley.

And that is it. Totally it.

Loving it. Feeling great. No cravings for carbs whatsoever. Been on this diet for more than three weeks.

That's a good indicator that you are taking a healthy step. I go back and forth with modified keto at times, but don't restrict myself like the gurus usually say to. Some people might need to for urgent needs to avoid the meds and scalpel.. I found that everyone is different and there are some common principles. The standard American diet has been pushing the food pyramid for generations. That's a very unhealthy direction. The industry pushes high carbs, refined sugar and flavored corn syrup drinks. The medical industry makes out too with all of the business. Cut wheat, processed and sugar and good things start to happen. Glad you feel better on the new lifestyle.

There is a three days on two days off cyclical program as well. But that is better suited for young, high output athletes burning lots of calories. It is also highly anabolic....because of the insulin pumping effect among other things. And once in a while you can go crazy on your off days.....like eating stacks of pancakes and couple of apple pies, piles of french fries.....you name it. You could gain 5-7 pounds in a couple of days.......all of it water and glycogen packed into your muscle tissue, and vascularity and strength will jump.

Thanks so much this is the info I am looking for.

I have had to kind of do this, as of necessity, and found that it has boosted my energy and stamina.

Thanks for the input. I appreciate it.

Just came off zero carb after four weeks. Two days of pancakes and banana cake and everything else imaginable. The homemade multigrain pancakes were outstanding....:giggle:

Just went back on keto today. Expect another four weeks until the next break.
And yes I can definitely see that the sixpack is coming back lol.
