Right now the total debt the US holds is equivalent to our GDP. You might be tempted to compare that to your mortgage, let's say you make $100k a year and the amount you owe on your house is 100k. You would think your finances are good. So therefore not too worried about US debt. This is a complete misunderstanding.
Let's say I buy a $400k house and put up $80k as downpayment and borrow $320k. My total debt is $320k, but my total assets are $400k so my net worth is positive, not negative.

The tribulation is the implementation of the forgiveness of debt. According to the bible once you are dead you are no longer liable for the debts (though you still must appear before God for the things you have done).
You can't have a simple "forgiveness of debt" worldwide because the corruption would be off the charts. People have gotten rich by stealing and murder. That has to be dealt with. Others will try and claim the "reparations" through lies and deceit. Only God and Jesus could sort through this mess.
If you want your debt forgiven call on Jesus and ask that His blood wash away your sins.
