but they are getting pricey and because of the shortage, eggs sales are restricted per person. anyone else thinkng there is more to this than just banning caged eggs....is there some truth to poultry being poisoned, chicken farms being sabotaged?

It's been claimed of late there are proteins in chicken eggs that disable or put on hold the spike proteins in the killer-vaxx. The genocidal maniacs with ill-gotten gains, of course, are therefore killing chickens, burning down chicken farms, outlawing chickens etc. - everything they can to reduce the ability of people to postpone the death shots and boosters most got last year.

It's somewhat out there as a theory, but not as out-there a theory as the one that said every man, woman and child must receive 3 experimental vaccines so they didn't die of a cold.

Not everyone can afford a backyard. I'm surprised you, of all people, wouldn't get that... :(

Not everyone owns their home. So if you rent, you must have by the landlord's rules which often means you can't put a chicken coop in the backyard

well one of our chickens did get eaten by dog
so it could be the dogs that are often loose on farms. I dont know why farmers use dogs to bark at their sheep when the humans should be the ones doing the shepherding. In nZ we have concentration camps for sheep and use dogs and barbed wire to keep them in line instead of callng them by name.

All the flightless birds have had to go on predator free islands to survive. cos dogs kill and eat kiwis.

Also a chicken lays like one egg per day. Who eats one egg?

some people want to blame cats but its dogs that are a bigger problem - and muzzling them is not always going to work. or obedience trainign dos the moment your back is turned the dog goes back to being a dog.

there are already traps for possums, stoats, rats and weasels.

the govt had already done a 1080 poison campaign to get rid of possums, shoot all the deer, and spread myxamotosis virus to rabbits, so maybe its war on chickens now.

crazy. If its not one kind of animal that they deliberately introduced, its another. Bees are dying from varoa mite.

LOL.

Well, do you have any New Zealand jokes?
I was searching for a few online and they all involve sheep for some reason.

Cant you be neighbourly and share your eggs with me? And if there is a milk shortage I will help you milk that cow that you hide in your basement. 🤨😀

Yes and this one woman came out on video saying she fed her chickens Purina feed and they stopped laying altogether. So she switched to local natural feed and they started laying eggs again. With that scandal I wouldnt buy Purina animal/pet food..not even the animals are safe from ......

My brother said that they have found that the white of the eggs interfere somehow with the jab... I haven't researched it yet, but if you find any info before I do please share. Btw, I work on a chicken farm and am waiting to see what comes of our future here.

You could also look for a local egg farm that would sell you reduced seconds eggs. Then water glass them for baking in the future.

Just a thought...

Ok,
Farming is a dying skilled trade. It doesn't pay. It's not profitable. Low wages, long hours, and at the mercy of the weather for when you work....

Let's not forget the ever increasing legislation that surrounds farming of anything especially when dealing with livestock.

So in order for farming to be profitable you have to do it on an ever increasing scale. A 9,000 chicken pen farm was pretty average once upon a time...and that was 15 years ago. Today it's a hobby farm. Because there's no money!
It's basically an exercise in paying for the coops....and that's about it.

Land prices keep climbing, water access is getting tighter and feed is always going up. Nevermind the inspections telling farmers what they can or can't do when they have been doing it for decades at no profit.

And when there's no one young enough to work the farm....it's left abandoned and begins to rust and degrade....every storm tears it up a bit more.

And what is happening with domestic farming you can expect to happen with imported agricultural products.

Coffee....tea....and etc.

Farming has become more and more efficient over the years. To the point where one farmer to 100,000 acres..

That's too much capital investment for a middle class income. Tractors and impliments alone are millions for a farm.

That's a lot of money to wager on a middle class income and live in the middle of nowhere.

I dont have any eggs as chickens died and mum wont replace them sorry. We only had two.
Also if I did have a surplus would share them or trade but I dont.

Farmers knew this ten years ago to switch to free range but a lot were actually too lazy to do so.

I wouldnt use so many eggs though I only ever ate them fresh eg never used them for baking where you dont really need to use an egg.

I would never take food for granted here in nz.

There have always been instances of where our food sources were totally depleted. Eg maori killing and eating all the moa, and what happened to all the toheroa. Crayfish and whitebait prices through the roof.

Cheap and nasty imported food and all our best fresh food exported. We also pay GST on fresh produce while Australia does not for theirs. Crazy.

Go into costco and they sell nothing but american junk food.

I would not feed chickens those commercial feeds, that are just mashed up who knows what.
It would be like feeding humans nothing but pringles and boxed cereals.

They need real food and will happily eat all the bugs from your vege garden and the weeds.
