Fair enough
Let's look at why God is allowing these Jan 6th "criminals" to be treated so harshly and seemingly hypocritically
13 Let every soul be in subjection to the higher powers:
Every soul includes Nancy Pelosi, Donald Trump, Chuck Schumer, Ray Epps, the FBI, and everyone arrested on January 6th. It is a major misunderstanding of this passage to think that it refers only to peons and not to Senators, Presidents, and other people in positions of power.
for there is no power but of God; and the powers that be are ordained of God.
Yes, God ordained that Nancy Pelosi, Donald Trump and Chuck Schumer would be in positions of power. But all of their power and authority comes from the constitution. If you violate the constitution you are not in subjection to God and you will be judged like anyone else.
2 Therefore he that resisteth the power, withstandeth the ordinance of God: and they that withstand shall receive to themselves judgment.
There is no question that many of the people on the video on January 6th were resisting the power. The problem is the biggest offenders like the person who left a pipe bomb and Ray Epps are not being charged or convicted. Others like whoever killed the two people who died also have been totally ignored. Instead we are told that the most heinous and terrible criminals are grandmothers and grandfathers who have no criminal record, were waved into the capitol by the police and did not cause any damage. Their one crime being "trespassing" though it would appear from the very limited video we have been given that the police set them up. But what is the ordinance of God? Those in positions of power are held liable for how they handle crimes, especially murder.
3 For rulers are not a terror to the good work, but to the evil. And wouldest thou have no fear of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise from the same:
Once again, this applies to everyone. Yesterday I saw a video of a Pfizer executive admitting on camera that he was violating US law and international law by promoting gain of function research while playing word games. He knew this was very harmful to Americans but didn't care because Pfizer was making money. Once he was exposed he went ballistic calling himself a liar and trying to destroy the evidence. Even this very powerful person was fearful of the powers that be.
4 for he is a minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is a minister of God, an avenger for wrath to him that doeth evil.
This word evil can refer to all crimes from trespassing to pipe bombs to murder. If these Jan 6th trespassers are receiving such harsh penalties imagine what the penalty for murder, pipe bombs or covering up these crimes or planning them will bring.
5 Wherefore ye must needs be in subjection, not only because of the wrath, but also for conscience’ sake.
We should not simply fear to be in subjection so that we don't go to jail, but even more so that we don't offend the Lord Jesus. I believe these ones who went into the Congress building on Jan 6th were like Uzzah who had the audacity to think God needed his help to keep the ark of the Covenant from falling. The real crime is not trespassing, which is also what Uzzah did. The real crime was arrogance. If you want to be in the army of God you need to learn this lesson, Jesus is our Commander in Chief, you better be following His orders.
However, the real wrath of God is being stored up for a whole lot more who were involved that day and have yet been brought to justice. They will not escape the wrath of God.
