Shattered by Suicide -- Shawna Mertel

I saw an interview of her on Prophecy club and she will be speaking at their church in the DFW area on January 29th.

I was amazed by this story.

First, a woman prophesied to her about 20 years ago that she would write a book and speak on Prophecy club. She thought it was a joke.

Then she describes her entire life and the life of her kids being shattered when her husband committed suicide.

She was caught by surprise even though she is a grief counselor and she was completely caught by surprise financially. Her name wasn't on the deed to the house, her husband left her with huge debts, and she had no credit history. She was going to become homeless and everyone was attacking her and her kids as though they were the ones responsible for the husband committing suicide.

Ultimately she had a vision that she was in a courtroom and Satan was the prosecutor with every vile accusation including her sin of being ignorant of financial matters. She responded by repenting to every accusation and the more she repented the quieter the accusations got. Finally the Judge ruled that "she has suffered enough" and miraculously the entire storm went away on May 20th.

My takeaway on this is that what happened to her will happen to genuine believers who are left behind. You might think that hey I didn't realize the Lord was about to return, but even that is a sin for those who have been charged to watch for the Lord's coming. If you are raptured you don't have to worry about the mortgage, or the car payment, or any other debts. But for those left behind the debtors will come after them with knives out and not only so you will be slandered to the uttermost from unbelievers. You were left behind, that proves something is wrong about you. It was very touching to me that the Lord would think about this and go to all this trouble to prepare His people, the ones who were the foolish virgins, to be able to make it through this tribulation.

A very dear relative committed suicide.. I am comforted by the Father when He led me to the Psalm which declares the sacrifice proper to Him is a broken heart. I am ever since consoled, not just for my father but for all in such a stated. If the father does not reject such how could I?

Psa 51:17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

I'm more worried about dropping dead than I am about the rapture. Gotta live each day like it's your last.

Remember when the church got angry with God for not returning in the year 2000? Many turned away from Him. That's what the last days will be like: Many Christians will turn away from Him because He will not meet their standards or schedule.

I don't remember that? Which church? I thought it was more people were upset they'd spent so much money on Y2K-proofing their planes and cars and whatever, and were no better off than the people who hadn't bothered.
