The reason Donald Trump changes political sides like changing socks is because he's an opportunist who will jump on whatever bandwagon is advantageous at the time. He's a con artist

Trump ran for one party, Republican. He did not change parties. What he did as a private citizen is his business.

I don't think he's anywhere near it's conservative as he pretends to be. I remember when he said out of his own mouth that he thinks Hillary would be a good president

Was that before or after he said to lock her up?

Yeah, he probably thought so. Now he's seen the other side of her, and the Dems. I think he was genuinely shocked at how the Dems acted and how fake they were. All kissed his behind until he became president.

I'm from Indiana and was shocked when Trump chose him for VP. He was a turn-coat then and is still one now. Mike P will do anything to get himself elected. He endangered the public safety of every Hoosier to get himself in the Governors chair by making back-room deals for votes against the public interest. He also left the state in shambles with his ill-conceived policies that catered to his rather narrow political base. Let us also NOT forget he was, with Dm. Fauci, the mastermind behind the Covid response that have been devastating to this nation. Indiana was not "gung-ho" and he would not have been re-elected. I'll stop there but a turncoat is a turncoat forever. BTW I am conservative, not a "Repub".
So am I to assume that you are an Independent voter?

My pathway in politics has been this I started out as an Independent because I really didn't know much about politics and I was young and I wanted to vote for whoever I believed was the better candidate and I didn't know much about either Repub or Dem parties.

Probably somewhere in my late 20's or 30's I felt that the way I believed aligned more with the Republican party so I registered with them because by then I had learned you can't really vote in primaries when you are registered as Independent. I stayed with the party until Bush Jr. was President and he lost me when he said I'm the decider as I felt he worked for the American people and should be doing things for us...

So that is when I switched parties to Democrats as I still wanted to be able to vote in a primary race. I don't believe everything Democrats stand for but I also don't believe everything the Republicans stand for. I still vote for who I feel is the better candidate no matter party affiliation. I am really a moderate.

I can honestly say I hate the way politics has become so polarized and the anger displayed by both sides when we live in the greatest country on the planet, but I realize too that things have to get really bad before Jesus comes again as the Bible says there will be a time of trouble such as never was.

My real goal is to be more like Christ and it hurts and it's hard when Christians can't even get along with each other then put a political thread in the mix and everyone's true colors come out and sometimes, (a lot of times), the colors aren't pretty.

So one day at a time and my questions are really sincere. How can you support someone and then turn on them?

I miss Ronald Regan....

If you miss Reagan, you should love DeSantis.

I don't follow Trump. Christians follow Christ. ☺️
Which is why it's so hard for me to understand the loyalty band wagon for Trump when he is clearly not a Christian.

Trump on God: 'I don't like to have to ask for forgiveness'

Maxwell Tani
Jan 17, 2016, 1:49 PM

After months of reflection, Donald Trump says he still doesn't regret his decision not to ask God for forgiveness for his sins.

In an interview on Sunday with CNN, the Republican presidential frontrunner said that he does not regret never asking God for forgiveness, partially because he says he doesn't have much to apologize for.

Verdict is still out for me on him as he was pretty much a Trump parrot when he was running for Govenor in Florida the state I lived in for 40 years. Just been in Tennessee for 2 years. So I will have to watch what he is doing now without Trump backing him and DeSantis being a former Trump puppet.

Correct. It is not only stupid but deceitful. But then all the Leftists are BOTH stupid, deceitful, and evil. So their only recourse was to generate HATRED against Trump, whether justified or not. That led to the Trump Derangement Syndrome.

But Trump should have seen hatred from both the Left and the Right from a mile away, and created a Patriot Party to fight the uni-party into extinction. But now he is committing the same mistakes which brought him down. Why in the world would he support RINO McCarthy?
Well now he will have his chance to create his own party with the followers he has and if he does I predict it won't end well in that if he can cause a riot on the Capital Jan 6th he could also cause people to believe a Civil war is the only way....

I used to wonder how in the world Hitler could get people to follow him and his crazy ideas and then along comes Donald Trump and my questions were answered...sadly.

The Dude is also not a Christian, by his own admission, and now you align with his view?
We must all seek His guidance is ALL things, especially seek His truth in this area .
Who does He want you to support, perhaps no one, perhaps His guidance is for one who is not revealed as of yet.:)(y):coffee:

I did the same thing for a long time...forced to declare one poor choice or another, just for the privilege of voting. Lately I have changed. I find no party and no candidate trustworthy enough to place faith. The entire process is corrupt and evil, it is Babylon. It pains me to withdraw and I do not urge others to do so, thy need to follow their own conscious. (And yes, Mike Dense contributed to this decision). I reject any implication that man can handle his own affairs and choose instead pursue another route.

Yesterday the Republicans demonstrated just how quickly they can turn victory into defeat. If I were the Democrat Leader, I would unite the party and vote for Jordan, just to stick it in the Republicans' eye.

Seriously? The government is a corporate cartel. RINOs are simply controlled opposition. Dems are far more likely to abstain in their vote to make sure McCarthy wins.

That was before he ran for president but I think the "lock her up" thing was just empty rhetoric to get votes. I don't think he ever had any intention of doing it, nor would he even have the authority to do so.

You're doing that thing again where you take little childish passive aggressive shots at me. If you don't like my comments put me on ignore and move on. Stop harassing me
Not only is your comment and AD hominem, it's also a non sequitur as it has nothing to do with my opinion on Donald Trump
Add something useful to the conversation or go away and leave me alone
