For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts. (Jeremiah 25:29)

The time for severe divine judgments to fall upon the earth is at hand. The people of Noah’s time were give only 120 years to repent, but the inhabitants of the world have been given over 2,000 years since the ascension of Christ. The age of grace will not last much longer.

Instead of turning from their wicked ways, the rulers of the nations have chosen to increase in wickedness and do more and more harm to the people under them. At the same time, people in general have not given heed to the Gospel, and have not turned from their sins and idols. And Christendom -- which should have stood firm for Christ -- has gone into apostasy. False gospels abound while the true Gospel withers. Cults abound while true Christians diminish.

Jeremiah lived over six hundred years before Christ. But his prophecies extend well into the future. And here God has given a warning to the whole present world through Jeremiah. So what do we see?

THE CUP OF GOD’S FURY IS FOR ALL NATIONS

For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it. And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them. Then took I the cup at the LORD'S hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me: (Jer 25:15-17)

ALL THE KINGDOMS OF THE WORLD SHALL DRINK

And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them. (Jer 25:26)

THE NATIONS SHALL RISE NO MORE

Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you. (Jer 25:27)

THERE SHALL BE NO ESCAPE

And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink. (Jer 25:28)

THE EARTH SHALL BECOME THE WINEPRESS OF GOD’S WRATH

Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth. (Jer 25:30)

THE LORD HAS A COTROVERSY WITH THE NATIONS

A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD. (Jer 25:31)

EVIL SHALL GO FORTH FROM NATION TO NATION

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth. (Jer 25:32)

GOD’S JUDGMENT WILL BE WORLDWIDE AND WITHOUT MERCY

And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground. (Jer 25:33)

But for those who have believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, have been saved by grace, and have been kept by the power of God, it is Christ who was struck by the sword of God’s judgment while He bore the sins of the whole world “in His body on the tree”. Thus we read Awake, O sword, against my Shepherd, and against the Man that is my Fellow, saith the LORD of hosts: smite the Shepherd, and the sheep shall be scattered: and I will turn mine hand upon the little ones. (Zech 13:7) This was a prophecy about Christ and how His disciples would all forsake Him. Therefore God has not appointed us to wrath but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thess 5:9)

The Chicken Little view is very popular today as it has been at various times in history. But, while history is linear, it is also cyclical. While much of what you are saying is true, this is just one of the steps in a regular cycle for mankind. A less myopic view would show vast improvements in christendom and society at large over the last 2000 years.

This is very true and i agree ....thats why im cautious in what i pray and say. There is a huge difference that seperates the then and now and that is Israel is back in the land.
The scattering has been replaced by the re-gathering. That right there has changed events and even the order of them.

I agree but I see so much in scripture left undone and so much about this kind of thinking that is contrary to the purposes and ways of God. I personally don't see the end of time as we know it for a long time to come.
I realize this isn't currently a popular view but I find it much more consistent with scripture.

Jesus has yet to fulfill all that must come to pass, accordind to the appointed times. There are 3 feast left to be celebrated.
These are things to consider and study.
Gods time line is based on the feast and festivals that are his times. Christianty has spiritualized alot of things that are hard to understand or are just in error. Remember JESUS came to fulfill not destroy.

Amen. I think you might just be on to something there. But you are preaching to the choir here.

Good to know sister. There are alot of those that think christanity is a new religion. Sad but even some teach it to be.

I compare scripture to scripture, not scripture to current events.
Sounds spiritual but is inconsistent with what the Lord taught: So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand. (Luke 21:31). "When ye see these things come to pass" is the same as saying "Pay attention to current events". Sadly too many Christians fail to heed this exhortation.

What you see coming to pass every generation has seen is coming to pass. And yet we are still here.
There are many on here who say the end is near. When you are willing to say the end is nigh and thus saith the Lord in the same sentence you have become a prophet. If it doesn't come to pass, that makes you a false prophet.
I have no problem saying that the world isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Let's see who is right.

No worries. I wasn't offended. Some of the most awesome people I know are women. It's just likely we will chat from time to time and it always seems more awkward to make corrections down the line.

No. That is completely false. But I will leave you to your delusions.
I appreciate you sharing as you did. I was edified until the end.
I appreciate the depth of your knowledge, your ability to communicate it, and the passion you have for truth. If you ever learn to speak the truth in love you will greatly enhance the kingdom of God.
