Jcpenny....are they in existence anymore?

It's kind of sad to see all the major stores I grew up with that people saw as the behemoths of the day and would always be around... Now going extinct.

I wasnt trying to match make even though you both already seem like an old married couple. I thought you could both do with some rest and recovery and return in the new year refreshed as both of you have been making snippy af comments to others recently. Yours seem to be a boredom thing and Lanolin well its either her personality or shes mad at the world. Im not saying either of you dont have anyhing good to contribute to CC. YOU BOTH DO when youre not trolling. Its a shame if newcomers see this and leave, then what are we left with? The same old group talking about the same old things? And since you both have that stubborn streak and dont want to lay in the warm sun and drink pina coladas then Im going by myself! 😁

That is beyond hypocritical. You sort out your own personal problems, dont drag the whole world into it.

Hmm... Well of course I can't speak for Lanolin, but for myself I'm more jaded than bored. I've been here for years, and I've seen 'em come and seen 'em go. And my snippy comments are because I've seen some things happen before and know how they will happen this time. To paraphrase Sherlock, if you have seen something happen a thousand times it is a very strange thing if you cannot predict how it will go when it starts up the thousand and first time.

Let's see... The latest negative reactions you gave me were in the posts where chong rolled through and fired off a few sermons at us. That is as good an example as any to illustrate the point.

We get a lot of Self Appointed Preachers (SAPs) coming through here. Sometimes some people feel the need to preach at others, to feed their self righteousness, and usually the sermons are rather recriminatory in nature. So when chong came in and started preaching at us, and the sermons were rather condemning, it was a pretty good bet we had another SAP on our hands.

However there were a few unanswered questions before we could be certain this was another SAP. Would she fire off a few sermons and move on to other forums? Would she hang around and keep berating us? Would she ignore my comments or would she get upset and fire back or would she roll with it and make some jokes about the mild critiques I left in her threads? Her response would tell us much about her and her purpose here. So I left a few comments that were not too harsh, but picked at some facets of her sermons that could use a bit of mild criticism, to see what would happen.

Of course we got no response, because apparently she fired off those sermons in a drive-by, on her way to other forums.

Mind you, I do not explain this defensively. I don't owe you an explanation, nor do I need to defend myself against accusations. I offer this explanation as a courtesy. You seem like an awfully nice person. You're a bit quick to jump to defend someone, even when the old forum hands are saying "Yeah, no, you shouldn't be defending that one," but for character that's not necessarily a BAD sign for you.

Unfortunately I can't explain a doggone thing about Lanolin. All I can explain is me. And I can't explain everything about me, as I don't fully understand myself.

Oh I get the whole jaded thing and Ive only been here since July and feeling jaded already.
The way I see it, Chong made threads that I found useful and interesting and so did others. I didnt find them condemning but then isnt the bible condemning? Among other things and I do not find that a bad thing either.

I dont mind people preaching here and in some form or another most people do. For those who dont get fellowship or go to church, maybe they appreciate it?
I havent been here for years like you have so Im not yet suspicious of everyone that is new. Altho I read your post in another thread about multiple accounts and then the thread went from 21 posts to 17 rather quickly.
Am I am awfully nice person? I can be nice and I tend to be in general. I can also be angry as shown by the personal thread about you know who but that anger was really disappointment and frustration and I eventually began to shift from it thankfully.

No you didnt need to owe me an explanation but you did and I appreciate it and you might remember back when I started here I showed you my cards, I told you I thought you were a troll.
