That is all that is posted on that forum and the only posts that get any sort of traction. A few days ago i posted some actual news about this tragedy at UVA, zero traction. Someone posts some nonsensical political post clowning libs which have been posted a billion times. just worded differently, they always get good traction. Why bother posting actual news if you get zero discussion, i don't want to talk politics 24/7 when all it is is low hanging fruit debates.

After 2 solid years of politics I'm sick of it too...

When taking a vaccine becomes political instead of a reasoned decision...

When families hanging by a thread are divided...

When truth is thrown out in favor of conspiracy theories and mud slinging....

And all of this coming from "Christians "?

They are screaming "Free Barrabis and not Jesus"
(Barrabis was a favored politician)

I post pictures of flowers, cakes, rocks and birds on Facebook because I am so sick of the political garbage. We could do that here too...

All these political hacks and antivaxxers are so busy selling fear, worry, and doubt.

Perfect love has no fear.

And I am confident that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him for that Day...even in spite of me.

What can separate us from this kind of love? I know I can't do it.

Because it was made political by this current "president" in the WH. Most of what they said about the vax was incorrect info. And here is Cali masking up again like we don't know the truth. smh

When families hanging by a thread are divided...
And what are they divided over? Do you see a place for unity with the progressive liberals as a Christian? I sure don't.

When truth is thrown out in favor of conspiracy theories and mud slinging....
Such as?

Who exactly are you trying to compare in this sentence? What two people?

Look,
What I'm saying is that we as Christians don't get involved in political parties or offering medical advice or even listen to all the rumors.

Remember Paul's charge to Timothy regarding "local affairs"?

In political discussions a whole lot of mud slinging happens as if one piece of fecal material has less stench or is more clean than another piece of fecal material while floating in the cesspool.

They are politicians!
That in label in itself used to be synonymous with being a hypocrite and a liar. No matter which side of the aisle they sit on...period.

And as far as the mRNA vaccines....they aren't as bad as the antivaxxers state nor are they as great and harmless as the promoters claim.
So unless you have actual true scientific studies to cite by RESPECTED scientists (and not the stack of discredited and fictitious ones used by the antivaxxers making ridiculous claims) in a respected publication that shows something that is actually worthwhile....that you actually understand...maybe I'll listen. I looked at the best claims of myocarditis and a real study done on it...smoking a cigarette causes more myocarditis than a vaccine injection. And people smoke one to two packs a day for decades without dropping dead. Just saying. Yet some people get cancer and emphysema or COPD. All depends on who you are...and the cause is likely one or more of the antibodies from getting covid or getting the vaccine...getting covid causes worse myocarditis than the vaccine. Just saying.

So...disparaging our leaders instead of praying for them is contrary to God's wishes. God sets up leaders or deposes them...not voting. God is sovereign...not the voters.

So what we really need is unity...not finger pointing and brow beating because someone thinks something different.

Back when they were planning on going to the moon they had to re-engineer all kinds of new technology instead of relying upon what they knew would work. Ink pens was one...Russia used pencils but we invented modern ink cartridges that work upside down. We also invented cellular technology used in cell phones today...all kinds of things. But even though the scientists disagreed a lot on a lot of things they still all pulled together and found common ground enough to get these things done. Even the fuel mixing plates design (one of the worst battles)

What I'm saying is that you can win the war but lose the people...which is what we are literally facing at the moment.

And where it's perfectly fine to have doubts about a new treatment and exercise caution...it's not ok to claim superior knowledge sufficient to advise everyone when you literally don't have so much as first aide certification. (As has happened a lot over the last two years by a LOT of people)

So you don't think if we had more Christians on school boards and as mayors, head of police that that wouldn't be a benefit to the country. Back home we had a Christian friend of ours become mayor. The town was complaining of being in need of money and didn't know to get it from. Our new Christian mayor said " No more booze at Christmas parties, that's one place we will save money". We he popular, nope, but what could they say? And the residents of the town loved him. So you and I disagree on this point.

People fought and died for my right to vote, I'm gonna vote. It's my duty as a citizen. If you see no difference at all in the parties, you're looking with your eyes closed. Although I can grant you this, it may be time to put Rinos behind us and start a fresh new party.

They are politicians!
That in label in itself used to be synonymous with being a hypocrite and a liar. No matter which side of the aisle they sit on...period.
You're making a blanket statement. I don't believe Gov. Huckabee is a liar, or his newly elected daughter. I don't believe John Kennedy or Ted Cruz are liars, nor JIm Jordan, just a few that come to mind. If I sat and thought there are more.

And as far as the mRNA vaccines....they aren't as bad as the antivaxxers state nor are they as great and harmless as the promoters claim.

Legitimate doctors were shut up. They were canceled. Twitter shut down one doctor that was warning of what hut downs could do to children. Now they admit he was right. And that little weasel Fauci out to be hung. And that female doc, Burk, she came out and said they made guesses and most of it was wrong. Masks don't work, only one type of mask works, wearing a scarf or bandanna doesn't work. Social distancing, plastic partitions, walking one way in a grocery store sitting inside a tent and calling it outside it didn't work!! And they knew it. And the vax isn't what they were saying it is either. Vast majority of people weren't anti-vax they were anti THIS vax. It doesn't stop transmission, it doesn't mean you won't die, and your immune system is better at fighting it off.

You know a lot of ten year olds that smoke do you? Because that is who it is hitting. They acted like the vax had no side effects, everything has side effects and we have a right to know what they are.

So...disparaging our leaders instead of praying for them is contrary to God's wishes. God sets up leaders or deposes them...not voting. God is sovereign...not the voters.
I believe God gives us our way sometimes. I believe when the church gets apathetic and doesn't vote, God allows a person to get in office that is bad enough to make us get out and vote the next time round. I believe the right to vote is God given, part of our freedoms and rights and should be fought for.

So what we really need is unity...not finger pointing and brow beating because someone thinks something different.
Ok, where as a Christian do you see unity with Biden?! I haven't found it yet. Apparently you think you have.

Is God Sovereign?
As in truly Sovereign?
As in either He installs the nation's leaders or He doesn't.

If He does then you are a Christian...otherwise you are not.

And that's the crux of the issue. Faith

Either you have faith in God or you don't.
Either you have faith that God set up the leaders for our good/benefit or He didn't.
Or

You are one of those who believe that God needs your advice about what is good. Might want to rethink that if you do.

The morality or immorality of others has no bearing on mine. It might to you...but again that would be a discussion that you need to have with God. It's not really my business.

I personally don't waste energy and effort on things that I have no control over. I can't control other's opinions...no matter what. If Jesus couldn't do it....uhhhh. I have plenty of trouble with controlling my own attitudes and opinions. It's more than enough for me to work on. I certainly don't rely upon them for telling others about what they should or shouldn't be doing.

However....I do know that the results of working together are tremendous by comparison of working alone.

That's what I know for sure. Like God is Good. God is sovereign. Anything else like the character of someone else....nope.

So then we shouldn't have gone after Hitler, just let God take him out of office, or anywhere else we have intervened in the world. Just let God do it.

Faith doesn't always mean standing around with your hands in your pockets. Corrie Ten Boom and her sister led people to the Lord during the Holocaust. They got involved in politics, they went against Hitler and hid Jews. Were they wrong, did they not have enough faith?

In Proverbs 14:34, we read, “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.”

Again, please let me know where you see a place for unity with the progressive left that is hell bent on promoting homosexuality, transgenderism (especially on the youth) and the next thing is pedophilia. Where do you see a point of unity with that world view?

Again...God raises up leaders...Sampson, Saul, and David were just such leaders raised to take care of enemies.
Apparently, according to you...if we don't "do something" God is either unwilling or unable to do something that needs to be done.
So you are still in favor of trying to advise God in what He needs to do. Or you are wanting to be a Saul...a "hand of judgement" that is like the tribe of Dan...getting left out of Heaven. (tribe not mentioned in Revelations)
And God was very clear with David, Saul, and Sampson with what they were supposed to do...It wasn't "subject to interpretation" or some other nonsense.

I am not in harmony with promoting perversion to children...of course not.
But I also don't see a need with "book burning and banning" because of some sort of shrill shreeker screaming at the top of their lungs at a school board meeting either over materials that are subject to "request for access" by a parent in order for the materials to be available to their children either. (which is literally what is happening here...and that is just the lighter points of the meetings...details are much much worse)

I don't care what the whole world does...its not my job to care. I care about those in my small community.
Government is outside of my world and purvue...again because it involves politicians and politics.

Politics is the means by which they Killed Jesus...granted He died for me...but I would be an absolute hypocrite for promoting politics or a political view to anyone if I were to do so.
and I am striving to not be one of those. YMMV

I think Kayla feels strongly about things she has no control over and wants to simply voice her opinions, thats all.

I dont feel the need to do this, I just pray for Gods will to be done, I can vote, but a vote can only do so much. I really have no control over what the party or person I vote for might do.

If you look on the news forum most of it is american politics that have nothing to do with anything that affects people outside of america. I dont post stuff about politics in my country. Who would even be interested. Its just swings and roundabouts.

Not sure about the book banning thing. You need to talk with the librarian on that one. Librarians stand for freedom to read in general and are averse to banning books just because a minority object to it. If you dont want to read something then dont. Everyone has individual choice. We cant police or micromanage what people choose to borrow. We can guide, but not dictate.

As far as I know Corrie Ten Boom didnt get involved in politics, she hid Jews becasue she was compassionate and cared (as was her dad, who was a watchmaker, probably Jews were his good customers) not because she wàs political.

We do things as christians because they are good things to do, not because they are political

I have a friend who is on a school board. I tend to think she is nuts for even getting elected to the position. (It wasn't much of a campaign....she was the only one who signed up) The controversial books that have the LGBT themes are only in the libraries of the final three grades of Publix education and only viewable by those whose parents have opted in to allow them access. But it's also not just LGBT themes in that section there are books that contain more mature themes that have nothing to do with sex. There's death, torture, imprisonment and other themes in that section as well.

However,
The charges are that all of these books are grooming children. And where I'd agree with that assessment for a few of those books...hardly all of them or even a majority. And there is the thing where they have to have a permission voucher to even gain access.

But this is what takes up the school board's meetings. Screaming and shouting and false accusations. It's not discussion...it's shouting down sessions.

I really don't care...I want no part of it all.
