Hi, just curious, what surprises you about this video? I was looking up a song a came across this and think it's wonderful.

As my thoughts are starting to turn toward Christmas, I find myself listening to Christmas music more often.

This one is a Christmas classic in Finland, although this version is a bit more unconventional in that it's performed by metal singers (although the song itself is not heavy). I found a semi-decent English translation of lyrics, so I'll add it below as well.

My only criticism about this translation is the word "Victim" in the last verse. The word "uhri" could equally well be translated "Sacrifice" which would probably fit better in the context.

I agree that sacrifice would also be a good word, but if you look at the definition of the word 'victim' (a person harmed, injured, or killed as a result of a crime, accident, or other event or action ) - that is what Christ became because of our sin, he was innocent but paid the price for us. In every way that is a victim.

Isaiah 53:5 "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. "

You are right. Both are justifiable word choices there.

Did you know that the word they used for 'peace' in Isa 53:5, is actually the word 'Shalom'? It could read 'the punishment that brought us our 'well-being, health, prosperity, favor' was on Him....' I just discovered this the other day after reading this favorite chapter for years.

Yes, this is what I find most interesting, when you delve into the meaning behind the words used in the original language. Although English brings forth the correct meaning in the message, we lose a lot of depth that is found in the original language

Real nice, Maybe Michael is carrying on where Johnny left off. Pause on video never lets me get all credits read. Maybe this is Kentucky or Tennessee? At the start when walking in the last guy in resembles an old friend here in Chicago. More 'Christian' oriented than me at the time but now likely deceased and biker too but not me. The journey takes many unpredictable turns.
