A great majority of Americans favor 'Gay Marriage'. The US Congress, Supreme Court, and the President are leading the charge to 'codify' gay marriage. They want to teach this as morally acceptable, to children in schools.

Unfortunately, this puts Christians in a spot. Jesus clearly stated that 'Marriage' is between a man and a woman."

So, Christians will have to make their choice, as the ways of the USA and Jesus are directly opposed to one another.

Personally, I'll stick with what Jesus teaches.
What did Paul say though - to put it in modern terms - he said let the church judge the church and God alone will deal with judging those outside the church. Then Paul finished up by saying we are to cast the wicked out of fellowship.

This passage from 1 Corinthians 5:12-13 was very clear.

The US government is NOT the church. We all have a voice in government, and as people fall away from the faith laws will necessarily change accordingly - there's no getting around that.

Our job, is to concentrate on the church itself - making it stronger and stronger by following Christ in Truth.

If we had been doing this instead of happily putting up with outright heresy and false prophets inside the church, we would never have had such a falling away.

Time to work on the basics again, for real. We need to value quality over quantity - that's what God values.

I chose him as a servant.
More cognitive dissonance to assuage the guilt. Predictable.

Daniel 4: 17 "This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever he will, and sets up over it the basest of men."

And in the US, people can actually choose the basest of men as their representative in politics.

So you voted for a serial philanderer then? Wow. Such mental gymnastics to assuage guilt!
That's his past, never done anything wrong in your past?! Trump was surrounded by evangelicals in office, perhaps he has the head knowledge but not the heart knowledge yet. People feel voting is important and you had two choices. Trump stood for everything I believe is important in the country. Look at Biden now and the mess we're in. That's why many of us voted for Trump and will again.

Our callings are irrefutable, as was David's. And David knew he had sinned. Whereas Trump "never asks for forgiveness because he doesn't have to".
That's not what he said. He said he tried to do right if he did wrong, that's repentance. Just because he doesn't completely understand it doesn't mean he's not a believer. Not everyone is at the same maturity in their walk. Unless you are evangelical, you don't understand the concept of repentance and forgiveness. You think if you try to be a better person it will save you. Pray that he finds the truth.

I have no doubt God raised up Trump to show the depth of corruption of the church. He, of course, succeeded.
He used a politician to show the corruption of the church?!! You didn't see that before?! rofl Baloney!! Nothing more that your opinion. smh

Those who continue to support Trump and his kind are delusional.
Wow, you're just full of judgement there aren't ya? Too bad we weren't all as spiritual as you huh? Delusional in what manner?

But this was also of God: the great delusion of the last days.

Great delusion?!!! You want to talk about corruption of the church? How about a church that sits on it's hands while abortion continues unabated? We had Roe come down, something we never dared dream would come true. But when it came up for vote the majority in my state, and many others, was no. Let it ride, let it stay the way it is. My husband and I were stunned. In many places all over the country there were races that would have put Dems out of office that support abortion up till and beyond birth. Yet there was no wave of Christians standing up against the greatest evil America has allowed since slavery.

I'm just getting started. What about transgenders? Taking over girls sports, and the lockerooms, young women being sexually assaulted. Teachers being told not to tell parents that their children have changed who they are. Transgenders sexualizing our children, disgusting. If you haven't seen the story time in libraries, go give it a look. And yet Christians did not come out and vote Dems pushing this disgusting junk down our childrens throats.

How about that fact that they are now calling pedophiles "minor attracted persons? We don't want to give them a bad name. A major company came out with an ad that had little children in bondage gear. I assume everyone here knows what that is. Tiny little tots dressed up with little stuffed toys in the same gear. And in one shot the child porn law was seen in papers on the desk. And parents who stood up against these things were called "terrorists" under this Biden regime!!!! But it wouldn't have happened under Trump!! So spare me the "I can't believe you voted for him" when thousands of Christians voted to put Biden in office, and just voted that he needs more power. Stunning.

You're the second person to equate "not voting for Donald Trump" with "doing nothing". It's a false dichotomy, no doubt influenced by Americanism.

In full disclosure, I would have no issue with people voting for a man who at least appeared to be righteous or who appeared to fear the Lord. But Trump is clearly a terrible person and he continued doing terrible things all through the campaign. Trump was Trump.

When the church supported THAT kind of man it showed that the church was willing to exchange its witness as representatives of the Living God for political expedience: heavenly things for terrestrial things; its inheritance for a bowl of stew. The church in the US claimed "we are Americans first" and threw their fealty to a doomed nation. You're not going to save this nation, its destiny is already foretold. Only how you represent the Living God will be saved from the fiery trials that are coming.

Here is the dilemma of the United States.
We are a nation that accepts all walks of life, nationality, and culture. Yet our foundational creed is bibical.
When we choose to allow the government to interpret foundational truths that we have established and allow the government to decide what is good and what is evil we fall short of our calling.
We are and were called to be salt of the earth, part of the healing not of the judgement, part of the preserving not of division. We have sat silent for far to long allowing laws of to be passed protecting sinful lifestyles .
Beleive it or not we are a mirror image of Israel. A nation that is surrounded by its enemies. A land divided by the very thing that GOD had called it to do. To be a light and example.
Israel was also called to allow the "strangers in" Jesus sat with sinners but yet not to compromise the truth of GODs word but to share it and live it.
If one decides to sin then that one is accountable for his sin. If one sins but yet is protected by laws of the land to do so
Then that nation is held accountable. If one sins and is allowed to teach others to do so then it become a abomination.
At least thats my understanding.
I find it very hard to express what im saying here without getting very lengthy in this post.
I do know that judgement begins in the house of the Lord. As stewards of GODs provision we have failed miserably.

The constitution of the U.S. begins thus: "We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union..."

It's "We, the people.." who were made sovereign over this nation by this nation's laws. The ways of this nation necessarily reflect the will of the people because they were given the role as "sovereign".

Should we not have expected this? Did we think the great falling away was for the world except the U.S.? All it takes is for "the people" to turn from God and that is what we are seeing. I mean, this isn't even a profound mystery. This is so obvious. The only way one could not see it is to have some misplaced affection for the U.S. or to think the U.S. is a "Christian nation". God's nation cannot have, as its sovereign, the people.

So not wanting my Church to be persecuted for not performing and otherwise accepting transgenderism and homosexual marriage. And fighting against the removal of children from a Christian home because the parents refuse to acknowledge that their son demands to be referred to as a girl is forcing my morality on others!!?

Examine yourself brother. Your statements are becoming absurd.
you are fighting, you are not wanting this and that

... but you are losing

and you WILL end up in the very place you don't want to be ... THAT is what is absurd

You cain't fight this war, the enemy is too strong and too crafty.

God has GIVEN us the wherewithal we need to get VICTORY. We have those things but we are not using them.

ALas, alas we are not in the place spiritually that we ought to be

When you join the army [mebbe you have been in the military :)] you have to undergo a most rigorous overhaul mentally and physically. But to fight this fight we will need a most rigorous spiritual overhaul. We need to change brother ... or perish.

As the G.I said in the battle of the bulge "you cain't fight tanks with rifles"

I remind you once again of the monkey trial of the 50s where parents just like you stood up against the evolutionists, they didn't want their kids taught that they came from monkeys.

They made a big mistake

They went to the judiciary and the legislator and God said "shouldn't a people consult their God?"

Thus saith the Lord

For though we walk in the flesh we do not war after the flesh for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds.
Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ ... 2 Cor. 10

Isn't THIS the victory you desire?

You have two people to vote for, that is the American system. So I ask again, what was to be done?

In full disclosure, I would have no issue with people voting for a man who at least appeared to be righteous or who appeared to fear the Lord.
Appears to be righteous?! Like who? Why would appearances matter if the heart is the same? That literally makes no sense.

But Trump is clearly a terrible person
That's your opinion and a judgement call.

and he continued doing terrible things all through the campaign. Trump was Trump.
They all do it. Like I said, American politics is like a wrestling match. They beat each other over the head with chairs and out back of the stage they're all friends. And Americans love the show, it they didn't it wouldn't be this way.

When the church supported THAT kind of man it showed that the church was willing to exchange its witness as representatives of the Living God for political expedience: heavenly things for terrestrial things; its inheritance for a bowl of stew.
NO we voted to keep millions of illegals flooding the borders to stop our youth from fentanyl overdoses, terrorists coming into the country, and sex trafficking to stop on the border and would build a wall to stop them.

NO we voted for a president that was against the murder of the unborn and would stand up against it.

NO we voted for a president that would stand with parents, and not call them terrorists because they don't want their children sexualized, transgender being pushed and telling them they're all racists.

NO we voted for a president that wouldn't close down drilling, then blame the fuel companies for high gas, then go ask our enemies for gas because they depleted our reserves.

NO we voted for a president that stood with Israel and kept his promise when every other president said they would but didn't. That's just the few things I can think of off the top of my head.

You're not going to save this nation....
So we're back to just sit and watch the dumpster burn. smh You're back where you started.

They used to hide in the bushes, now they hide in places of power and authority ... and they are helping other of their kind up the ladder. That is what is happening.

These are the strongholds and powers which God has GIVEN us power in prayer over.

I am completely befuddled  there people here on this Christian Chat site arguing in favor of the radical left's agenda which will ultimately destroy the country.

Christians no longer even see how radical it is .. how far we have departed from our role in society as a preserving force.

Yes it will be soon.
I'm not arguing in favor - to me there's nothing more horrifying and it's beyond shocking the cultural changes that have occurred in my lifetime..

But we DO have to have a biblical response, understanding clearly that the state/government system is completely separate from "the church".

That said, I think there's a lot we can and should do politically - I am appalled at what young people are dealing with these days trying to get an education so they can enter the workforce and attempting to raise children in such an environment.

My stepson enrolled in college and the first day, the second he hit the campus he was told he had to attend a mandatory class for new male students.

In this one day class they made mandatory he was berated as a rapist (he's actually a young Christ centered man), and told exactly how evil these people thought he was based on the fact he was a man.

He tried attending regular classes after this but it was all so crazy he left (dropped all classes) college within a week. He just couldn't stomach the constant propaganda.

Things like this are serious social issues - how can we live in such a society and what's our future here?

At the same time we aren't here creating a theological state.

When the majority was Christian society was far different - clearly Christianity is no longer the majority. And as a minority group inside this country - we have to determine the best way forward IN Christ... Not just reacting in the flesh.

I'm just getting started. What about transgenders? Taking over girls sports, and the lockerooms,
what about manufactured outrage?

young women being sexually assaulted.
yes that is horrible. Almost 40% of transgender teens are sexually assaulted at their school. That is over a thousand such assaults last year along. Ref: G Merchison School restroom and locker room restrictions and sexual assault risk among transgender youth.

Teachers being told not to tell parents that their children have changed who they are.
you mean confided in a teacher and teacher not outing the child because that child could reasonably face abuse in violence in their home if they were outed.

Transgenders sexualizing our children, disgusting.
Myths usually are disgusting

If you haven't seen the story time in libraries, go give it a look.
Children in LIBRARIES? with all those books? the horror!

No church can be compelled to marry anyone. jut recently it came out that a pastor refused to marry an interracial couple and that refusal is perfectly legal.

As for the removal of a child from a home, i don't know of any such removal for that reason. i am aware of several transgender youth being taken in by child protective services because of abuse and violence. There was a recent case in Indiana where the parents sues protective services claiming it was that the abuse they were inflicting on their transgender child was part of their right to free speech and free practice of their religious beliefs. (fortunately the court did not agree with them)

NO we voted to keep millions of illegals flooding the borders
the highest rate of illegal immigration happened in 2006 during the Bush administration

to stop our youth from fentanyl overdoses,
Homeland security reports that the primary sources of fentanyl smuggling are by drug traffic organizations smuggling it through legal checkpoints and US citizens engaging in smuggling.

terrorists coming into the country,
Fact check

and sex trafficking to stop on the border and would build a wall to stop them.
and how would that work?

NO we voted for a president that would stand with parents, and not call them terrorists because they don't want their children sexualized, transgender being pushed and telling them they're all racists.
it's easy to stand up against something that isn't being done.

NO we voted for a president that wouldn't close down drilling, then blame the fuel companies for high gas, then go ask our enemies for gas because they depleted our reserves.
drilling in the US has increased 12% since Trump left office
