Good OP, @presidente

God is not the author of confusion yet we have an encyclopedia’s worth of arguments regarding OSAS. Talk about assumptions and speculations. And that’s just one subject.

The day will come when the believer's works shall be judged...
1 Corinthians 3:
9For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building. 10According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

Do you believe the reward in verse 14 to be eternal life, or do you believe the reward is that good and abundant life that the newborn babe in Christ can have, if he grows to be weaned from the milk of the word unto the knowledge of the righteousness of God?

I listen to Charles Spurgeon and he may be a Calvinist. Had to look this up when I saw your question. More preachers than you can shake a stick at. Something like that.
Several of us have interacted directly with him for a four year period, on Baptistboard. Day in and day out out on Baptistboard.
His name on there was Skandelon. We know first hand his defective theology.
He was a nice guy, just a false teacher.
There are a few now who claimed to be former Calvinists, but you can tell they never were by how they respond.
he teaches at a bible school in texas. We did not know that until he left in about 2015

Do you believe the reward in verse 14 to be eternal life
No. The believer already has eternal life.

do you believe the reward is that good and abundant life that the newborn babe in Christ can have
No. The believer in Christ already has these things.

if he grows to be weaned from the milk of the word unto the knowledge of the righteousness of God?
Nobody outgrows the need for the Word. We must meditate on the Word continually in order to grow.

The Judgment of Works is for believers only and is for deciding which works were profitable and which works were not. Rewards will be given accordingly. These rewards are referred to as "crowns".

Why is this a big deal? Why should we care if we go spouting off all kinds of stupid theories about the Almightly as if they were fact? Why should we be careful about drawing intelligent-sounding, logical-sounding conclusions based on our systematic theology... that we cannot back up with specific scripture... about the person of the Almighty.
We can become headstrong in our own ideas, and miss out on what's real. I think we need to remain humble and keep our eyes open. And like you've said, stick with what the Bible reveals about God.

And the devil also.

Much love!

On the opposite side of the spectrum from heavy determinism, I have read and heard assertions about why God did certain things, or what He is like, or even what God "can't" do. I read once where someone asserted that God cannot use you if you are living in the past? I see no Biblical basis for such an assertion, and it doesn't align with what I know of some people who seem to be living in the past, but still operate in spiritual gifts. There are people who say the reason God let such and such to happen to you was because He wanted you to learn such and such.
Yes, there are many times I've heard people say, "God can't use you because . . .", or "God can't bless you because . . ." and then the fill in the reason why God can't. But I've seen God reach into my life in all manner of situations, when I've been in various states of spirituality or fallenness, and I don't find these limitations. I've found that when I want to be close to Him, I find Him close to me. I'm not disqualified because of my failings, rather, I'm rescued out of them.

I'm with you on this. There is such a tendency to overlay God with our own issues, and define Him as if He were like us. I've come to the place where I'll just look to Him my Father for anything at anytime in any circumstance, and I know He'll sort it all out.

Much love!
