Are there many true Christians to date

isnt dating just a license to fornicate for most people before marriage anyway

For christians we are meant to abstain from fornication. Many people are unable to do this.

It used to be personal ads might say 'dating with a view to marriage' or 'long term relationship' but its quite often a euphemism for people just wanting to go to bed with someone else.

I think people lost sight of what "dating" is or supposed to be.

Idealy, when dating or couting someone, its an opportunity to get to know eachother and build a spiritual bond, its a chance to explore hobbies, interests, really dig deep to get to know somone to see if your compatable for marrage.

The reason for this is you dont want to marry a gold digger who is only interested in your money, and you definately dont want to end up a single mother because the guy wanted a 1 night stand.

You also dont want to be unequally yolked with an unbeliever,

I think the problem lies in parents who dont teach their kids about relationships

a lot of parents are dead thats why

children whos parents are dead (or divorced/abandoned, in jail) dont have any idea of what its really like to be married since their parent, one or both are not even there
