Transforming Children’s Lives

Millions of children – as many as 1 in 5 – struggle with mental health or learning challenges. Fully % of U.S. counties do not have a single child and adolescent psychiatrist. Due to stigma, misinformation, and a lack of access to care, the average time between onset of symptoms and any treatment at all is over 8 years. Our children deserve better.

That’s why the Child Mind Institute was created.

We’re dedicated to transforming the lives of children and families struggling with mental health and learning disorders by giving them the help they need. We’ve become the leading independent nonprofit in children’s mental health by providing gold-standard evidence-based care, delivering educational resources to millions of families each year, training educators in underserved communities, and developing tomorrow’s breakthrough treatments.

Together, we truly can transform children’s lives.

All anyone has to do is look them up, and read.

They're a purely secular organization, not Christian, and they don't reflect Christian or traditional family values... not even a little.

If you want to send your child to a "woke" secular psychologist... then, as a parent, that's your choice.

I'm really curious why the OP posted these positive sounding blurbs from this org, along with a link, on a Christian website.

They clearly aren't Christian.
They are clearly secular.
They are clearly woke.
They clearly stand for, and promote, all the moral and cultural issues which the traditional Christian church is against.

Fascinating post.

Just to make any in need of services such as those, that this organization offers and claiming to be dominant in such services is not necessarily the choice someone of Christian values should pursue. Although the claim this organization makes is that such services may be very limited in certain areas and I don't know if they may have affiliates which also offer services. It may be that this post is educational and or informative. I am not sure what the traditional Christian church you mention refers to. Seems Biblical teaching is a more apt term as their are many groups claiming to be 'Christian'. Also woke may not necessarily be pejorative as you seem to imply.

More often then not these organizations have goodwill when they say they want to help but most often it ends up with medication for children, I am not a fan of having a child medicated.

I did have a look they seem legit but how do they treat the children? they say they use gold standards without specifying, this always worries me.

Blessings.

This organizations supports LGBTQ ideology and transgender ideology and pornography, among other things.

If that's what you're into, then that's between you and God... but the Bible is extremely clear on these things, and I don't believe the site policies allow people to promote this stuff on CC.

You have a lovely week.

This is a claim you are making and I didn't see any references to these matters on their website.

By your statement above, are you agreeing that supporting LGBTQ ideology, transgender ideology, and pornography are immoral, and they should not be promoted on a Christian website?

Are you agreeing these things are immoral, and that's why you're upset I made unsubstantiated claims about them?

I would not and do not promote any anti Biblical ideologies. However the real world is rife with promoting many anti Biblical ideologies and the Bible advises us to be wary and advised regarding such things. Even many claiming Christian morals embrace these ideologies and it seems that the Bible advises us to learn to be aware of these matters. Dodge ball in the extreme in some places like where I reside. Chicago. And I would say everywhere in the world today with the possible exception of maybe Kenya as I have seen some mention of this on the news. If you will take notice that this post has already made at least one person aware of the wariness needed in regard to seeking such services if needed and possibly one individual who may yet need to be made aware or not concerned as it may be difficult to determine their actual understanding of the organization. My sense is that this organization if it operates as claimed, i.e. reaches out to millions of families it would be helpful to do all possible to make Christian people aware.

So are you agreeing that the specific issues of LGBTQ ideology, transgender ideology, and pornography, ARE, SPECIFICALLY, particular issues that are immoral and ant-bibilical?

The very name, “Child Mind Institute” should scare everyone. To help those with mental illness is one thing but this name implies something much more sinister than just mental health services. They also support "Global Open Science" which is an international medical information sharing process.

They bemoan that lack of children’s services in 70% of the country yet have their offices in New York City and in San Francisco California.

Anytime some wants to “Transform the Minds of Children” and to “Unlock the secrets of the developing mind” they should be resisted. Is this not just a bit "Orwellian"?

They celebrate the support of Governor Gavin Newsom, a proponent of perinatal abortion.

From their own website:

“In the first half of 2022, some 20 states passed some form of anti-LGBTQ legislation, ranging from how gender identity is presented in schools to limiting transgender youth in sports and restricting medical treatments for transgender children. These new laws send dangerous and confusing messages to kids who live in any state that being different, whether in terms of gender identity or sexual orientation, or both, is wrong, shameful and intolerable.”

This statement is patently false and misleading.

There is plenty more to be concerned about.

This article will give you some idea of how imbedded in todays society homosexuality has become. Now there is more complexity to this issue than what most

Persistent,
You seem like a very good and sincere person.

I like you just fine, but I don't much like the Child Mind Institute.
: )

I'll post more information on them when I have time.

Take care of yourself, and have a wonderful week.

I don't know anything about this specific organization but if a child is struggling with mental health issues then I would recommend consulting a mental health professional

Most kids probably don't need a psychiatrist but there are some kids who do have mental problems
Like the ones who shoot up schools

I wish it were that simple.

For the past 50 years the mental health people have been defining and re-defining "mental Health" and what requires professional treatment. There have been revision after revision of the DSM (Diagnostic and Statistical Manuel) each expanding the definitions of mental illness to the point of ridiculousness. You cannot review these definitions without seeing political and social agendas. One cannot be alive without several mental health issues that need professional care. Especially with children. What was once considered normal development issues or issues that could be handled by Mom and Dad, but now require serious care. That is why Child Mind institute can claim 20% of children need professional care. Consider that number for a moment. There are 73 million children in the US under age 18. CMI wants 15 million of those children under professional care.

You are correct and anyone struggling with serious mental health issues should get care. In these cases parents need to be very, very careful and attentive. I would not leave my child unattended in their care.
