I don't think Adam and Eve are guilty. Eve was just planted by the snake in her heart and mind with the seed of disobedience. This is not original sin, but disobedience to God's Word. Are they disobedient, yes or no?

Or the compromise should not say the original sin, but the origin of sin. In combination, the origin of sin is the seed of disobedience

They violated the 1 Commandment. And the proof of their guilt is the judgment that fell upon them.

Re: Did Adam and Eve violate the Ten Commandments?

According to Deut 5:2-4, Rom 4:15, Rom 5:13, and Gal 3:17; the Decalogue
isn't retroactive.

Of course you don't... because you disagree with the One True God.
Did I say I wanted to be a Muslim? Did I say I wanted to be a Christian? Now I just want to be a obedient sheep.

Romans 5
12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
13 (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.
14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

Not guilty of the 10 commandments because they weren't written yet, but were guilty of disobeying God's command to not partake of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. (Satan, that old serpent in the garden. Rev 20:2)

the Ten Commandments came along hindreds and hindreds of years later

Adam and Eve broke e very first commandment it had nothing to don with Moses law which came 430 years after the promise to Abraham the law of Moses isn’t from the beginning it’s a result of the commandment they did break this one this has nothing to do with the Ten Commandments given from Sinai

They broke this commandment intended to keep them safe and alive and in Gods presence

“And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:

but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭2:15-17‬ ‭

that’s what they broke the only commandment God had given them intended to keep them free , safe and alive with him

the Ten Commandments came along as a result of what they did becoming sinners who knew both good and evil a contradiction to thier self

so after this happened you have to say “ don’t lie it’s sin and you’ll die “ “ don’t commit adultery it’s sin and you’ll die “ “ don’t kill it’s sin and you’ll die “ ect the law came along 430’years after Abraham’s life

“Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.

And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect. For if the inheritance be of the law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise.

( what’s the law for then?) Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; ( until Christ came ) and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:16-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In other words e Ten Commandments are for murderers at heart , liars at heart , cheaters at heart you have to tell them what they better not do or else this is what I’m saying

“knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine;”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭1:9-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

think about it if you have a child you don’t start telling them what not to do as if they are going to do those things instead you just start teaching them how to live right and good and upright lives

you do this because you known the y aren’t killers so why tell them they better not kill ? You tell murderers at heart you better not kill or else youol
Be killed “ you tell adulterers at heart you better not commit adultery or else “

thou shalt not is something you tell rebels , the gospel is about what to do to please God not about sin and guilt and death like the law

“Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

what I’m meaning to say is Adam and Eve were never under the law Moses they caused the law of Moses to come with transgression of the commandment in Eden

it was added in because of transgressions man became sinful and so God needed To inform them of what the y had been ignorant about

once this happened the law needed to come first and then the gospel

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:12‬ ‭

that’s why Jesus had to die for us to fulfill the requirement of sin and death upon us all the law of Moses is for those who don’t have that atonement and can’t be born again it came in the middle to Mediate sin until Christ came to take it away

If God says Adam and Eve have guilt...
I would be reluctant to disagree with Him.

No. Because they did not yet exist.

They violated only one of God's laws. Thou shalt not eat....

All part of the plan.

Adam and Eve had one simple commandment to obey. They didn't, and all humanity fell.

Thankfully, Christ came and redeemed us and opened the gates back to Paradise By dying on the Cross for us and paying the debt/penalty of Adams sin.

Moral of the incident: when the Almighty God, the All-Knowing, All-Wise and All-Holy God, tells you to do something, you don't argue, you don't disobey, you just do it.

They could have said to Satan: why should we listen to you, exactly, liar? God gave us everything, not you, Satan. God gave us Paradise, not you. God gives us 100s of trees to eat fruits from. We will eat those, not do the one thing He has forbidden.

And this is the same we should do when the Enemy, the father of lies, tempts us to sin too. If we do, we will be blessed.

God Bless.

Adam and Eve did not disobey a commandment. They disobeyed their father.

This is the standard for the children of God: that they only do the will of their father.

Of course they were guilty soberxp.
The Bible states this time and again. If I had time now, I would provide the refs.
The devil was the instigator of temptation.
He sinned too, but the sins of the fallen angels did not enter humanity's bloodline directly through natural birth .

"Wherefore as by one man, sin entered into the world and death by sin, so death passed upon all men for all have sinned."

Here's the rest of the story...
Good news

We are born in sin, as David said, which is in our nature. Furthermore, we choose to sin and that is obvious. We are all guilty before God. What you do about that is explained in the blue link.
Have a good day.

You say they were disobedient, yet not guilty? How does that work?
