Quotes from a recent news article -

"For example, nearly half of evangelicals agreed that God 'learns and adapts' to different circumstances, in stark contrast to the biblical doctrine of unchanging nature, or immutability; 65 percent of evangelicals agreed that everyone is 'born innocent in the eyes of God,' denying the doctrine of original sin, and with it, the very reason that people need salvation in the first place."

also

"Once in a meeting I attended, a Christian leader quipped, 'If we could just get all the Christians saved, we’d be in good shape.' The results of this study show it’s time for many so-called Christians to repent, for many churches to renew their commitments to catechism, and for all of us who claim Christ to commit our hearts and minds to know who He is, who He has revealed Himself to be."

That article is well worth reading. Then there is another news piece of interest -

"Prominent Evangelical pollster George Barna says that most Americans blend their beliefs to create 'a customized worldview' that is far from biblical as the country is in a spiritual 'crisis.'

The founder of The Barna Group, who now leads the Cultural Research Center of Arizona Christian University, spoke at the Family Research Council's Pray Vote Stand Summit last week, a Christian conservative voting rally held in Atlanta.

Barna, who also serves as an FRC senior fellow, told those gathered that he believes one of the 'brilliant strategies of the evil one' is luring people into believing that they can combine and adopt as many worldviews as they want.

Barna warned that 'America is a nation in crisis' because its citizens do not hold a biblical worldview and will instead add their own 'worldly ideas.'"

"My friends, I was fully intending to write to you about the salvation we share, when I found it necessary to take up my pen and urge you to join in the struggle for that faith which God entrusted to his people once for all." (Jude 1:3)

How do we contend for the faith once for all delivered to the church if we ignore the historic creeds, confessions and catechisms of the church?

"By day and by night you blunder on, you and the prophet with you. Your nation is brought to ruin; want of knowledge has been the ruin of my people. As you have rejected knowledge, so will I reject you as a priest to me. As you have forsaken the teaching of God, so will I, your God, forsake your children." (Hos 4:5-6)

Are Christians not already saved? Perhaps he simply worded his question wrong.

Makes one wonder what their definition of "evangelical" is. We are all born in sin. We will all be given the opportunity to come to Jesus at some point. I don't know how it works with aborted people, but I guarantee you that God does.

'If we could just get all the Christians saved, we’d be in good shape.'
Maybe he meant "if we could get all apostates saved."

"Prominent Evangelical pollster George Barna says that most Americans blend their beliefs to create 'a customized worldview' that is far from biblical as the country is in a spiritual 'crisis.'
Ofttimes, "their beliefs" = their fanciful wishes. They really do seem to believe that this is a legitimate way to form their worldview. "Reality = My personal perception of it and thoughts about it." This is what our culture has embraced and is the toxic soup that modern-day children are born into. So sad. :(

We must reinforce that God's Word is an unchanging absolute. We must strongly encourage them to diligently study it. Many religions, but only One Jesus who is our One Savior.

"My friends, I was fully intending to write to you about the salvation we share, when I found it necessary to take up my pen and urge you to join in the struggle for that faith which God entrusted to his people once for all." (Jude 1:3)
Yes, we need revival within the Church-so-called.

How do we contend for the faith once for all delivered to the church if we ignore the historic creeds, confessions and catechisms of the church?
How do we contend for the faith while there are those in our midst who would add, detract, and modify the very Word of God?

Revelation 22
18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Amen. We have it in our hands, but not in our hearts. We lack the hunger, thirst, and desire for it in it's true and unsullied form.

Great, now if we don't profess creeds, confessions or catechisms we're not saved. Don't you people ever give up?

Try your own selves, whether ye are in the faith; prove your own selves. Or know ye not as to your own selves, that Jesus Christ is in you? unless indeed ye be reprobate. (2Cor 13:5)

And even as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also withstand the truth; men corrupted in mind, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be evident unto all men, as theirs also came to be. (2Tim 3:8-9)

He does have valid point. Some Christian people are playing church, they dont take God seriously or study the bible like their supposed to. CHANAK in Hebrew means = discipline, train up. Amos 5:5. But seek not Bethel, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beer-sheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Bethel shall come to nought. Gilgal means, shall roll away. Some denominations and churches teach tradition of men, the preacher doesn't get around to teaching sound doctrine. Some Christian folks have favorite preachers, and it suits their needs. Greek = DOPHIY means = stumbling block. The congregation never advances in God's word, its milk. 5:10. They hate him that rebukes in the gate, and they abhor him that speaks up rightly. Some Christian people are being taught wrong by misguided preachers. They know more about the pastors family than Gods word, that's ridiculous. THERIZO in Greek means = Harvest. Friends, you dont want to be chaff when Jesus returns 7th trump to separate the wheat and chaff. It's going to be real sad day for many people. They sat pews their whole life, and antichrist steals their crown. Once again, I'm not knocking churches. 5:21. I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assembly. God will not bless those who play church. It's more of a social gathering than studying the bible. Its false pretext, and they expect God to honor it. MATAIOS Greek means = Vanity. 5:22. Though you offer Me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offering of your fat beasts. Those who sit under false preachers, God won't listen to their prayers. Those who enjoy spirtual whore houses wont get blessings. PARADOXOS Greek means = strange. They are strangers to God, their not acting like His children. I'm offended by this. Then your on the wrong path, get your act together!!. Proverbs 21:27. The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination: How much more , when he brings it with a wicked mind? A person can go their whole life wondering why God won't listen to their prayers or bless them.

Assuming that Jannes and Jambres are the names of two of Pharaoh's magicians (who tried to duplicate Moses' miracles), they never claimed saving faith in God.

It never would have entered their minds to "try themselves to see if they were reprobate".

Your statement is a bit of a misnomer. If someone was a Christian they could only become that by being saved. Many think they are a Christian merely by claiming to be, which is not so. You must become one and there is a simple process one must follow in order to do that, by belief and faith, confession of your belief, repentance, and immersion in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins.

Are we not children of Abraham by means of the Word of God, the Gospel? What would the Master teach? Do you think He was other, such as Baptist, or any protestant? RCC?
