Actually, there are people on both sides of the isle that are doing what you say is evil. Perhaps refer to scripture and in particular, this pertinent passage:
4 Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. 2 Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God.
3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. 4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. 5 For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ.
II Corinthians 4
People who are not a new creation in Christ, are, by default since there are but 2 choices, DECEIVED. Granted, it does seem that the left are particularly in the devil's camp, with abortion and so on, BUT no one on the right is anymore righteous then they are if they have not believed in the death and resurrection of Christ and his atoning blood (meaning procuring forgiveness/salvation on our behalf )
I would not waste energy on despising people. I prefer to practice the peace offered by Christ:
27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27
And in saying that, I am not claiming that is my constant state but I sure am better than I used to be
As with all things, we do have a choice. And I know it can be difficult to enter into the peace of God, but see it for what it is, It is our Savior saying to us:
Hey! You don't have to worry or be fearful of what is around you. Trust in me and believe what I say; my peace is YOUR peace.
All that to say I do understand where you are coming from. But we need that peace of God and trust in Christ now in this world or we will ultimately fall to despair, wondering why God does not 'do something' when He has already given us all we need to live in this world without it determining our future or our attitudes or state of mind.
