NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. Absolutely NOT!!!!!!!!!!!! There is no "I'll serve god, whether he forgives me or not"... THAT IS REPENTANCE WITHOUT FAITH!!! THAT IS THE SAME AS WHAT JUDAS DID!!!!!!!!!!!!
YOU ABSOLUTELY NEED TO BELIEVE YOU WILL BE FORGIVEN. That is part of believing god's goodness. THAT IS THE GOSPEL!!!!!
(You know, that thing we believe that saves us????) God is a REWARDER of those who diligently seek him. HE WILL NOT SEND YOU AWAY EMPTY HANDED.
Also, if you're a Christian, God has forgiven you... you need to forgive others... this is not "Jesus' optional doctrine".
He says of reprobates "they can feel sorrow for being caught, like Judas Iscariot"... Judas expressed distress for his wrongdoings to the Priests. I think he did feel guilty; but his faith was not such that he believed he would be not be forgiven (THAT is essentially denying Jesus). Peter struggled with what he had done, too, but at least he carried on. The idea that Judas felt bad about being "caught" is not making any sense. The bible does say it would have been better for the one who betrayed Jesus if he had never been born; but it doesn't say that betraying him was the reason why that was the case.
People like to throw the "empathy" word around like it's actually a biblical term. "Sympathy" is in the bible several times... not "empathy".
You CANNOT judge people on how YOU THINK they feel, or how YOU THINK they should feel in any given situation.

The Bible does speak to the fact that some people will harden their hearts to the point of searing their own conscience, but these people will never desire to repent or be changed. God knows that many will reject Him and never turn to Him, but whosoever desires to come may come.
Romans 1:21
“Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”
They chose their own path. Dark hearts do not seek the Lord.
One should never ignore the times when Jesus knocks on the door of you heart. Is Jesus knocking on your door now? If so, open it immediately. One never knows if this day might be their last.
Revelation 3:20
“Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
