Chasing God

I was reading an article that implied that too many Christians are 'waiting on God to move' when He has already provided us with the outpouring of His Holy Spirit.

The question followed, what are we doing with that fact?

So I am thinking about exactly what ARE we doing? Are we 'waiting on God' that is, He is going to make the first move and until then, it's status quo.

Perhaps running from meeting to meeting waiting to 'hear' a word from God by some stranger who supposedly a prophet and is that even what that gift is for? personal prophecy?

I don't think its' wise to go out and just 'do things' either and then expect God will put His stamp of approval on it.

Many are saying God is going to send a great revival and they will tell of dreams or 'visions' they have had in which they believe God told them that

There are even so called schools for people to become prophets (seriously?)

In spite of all of that, I am reminded of this verse from Amos 8


..........People will stagger from sea to sea and roam from north to east, seeking the word of the LORD, but they will not find it. v.12

It seems to me both approaches are true. On the one hand we are taught to pursue God...if we seek Him with all our heart we will surely find Him...draw nigh unto God and He will draw nigh unto thee...boldly approach the throne of grace...
On the other hand we know...we are to work out our own salvation with fear and trembling because God is at work in us willing and doing of His good pleasure...trust Him...and He will direct your path.
It seems to be a collaborative effort.

I agree with what you are saying here. Seeking Him with all our heart....not half baked measures but with expectation that He is true in all He says.

We should be able to 'hear' God speak to our hearts and not allow anyone to come between us and God. Too many people want to say what they think God is saying and yet He has not put His word in their mouths and He has not appointed them to say a thing.

I think discernment is one of the most important things we can ask for.

I not certain (actually i am) that God has made his move 2000 yrs ago. To preach, teach, disciple, to train up, to instruct, to exhort, to edify, to counsel, to mourn, to pray, to praise just to name a few.
Seek you first the kingdom of GOD and his righteousness.
Bench warmers as i call them have their reward. Its not the work that you do for the Lord that determines its greatness but the heart in which it is done.
If you have no skin in your belief you have no belief .
Be doers of the word and not hearers only deceiving your selves.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart lean not to your own understanding.....ok got it.

I think many people associate eternal life with heaven and the eternal estate but John 17:3 describes an intimate relationship with God and with Christ. Psalm 23 and John 10 describe the nature and depth of this relationship in terms of the intimacy shared by the Shepherd and sheep.

We were never made to live independently of God. Adam and Eve, even before the fall, walked daily with God in the garden. How much more do we need to do so.

they aren’t ever going to move . Is the gospel is being heard the teachkngs of Christ they are going to see the steps to take ahead of them and won’t think “ God isn’t telling me to do anything I’m already finished and complete I don’t need to do anything “

instead they are going to learn like children do and start taking those steps Christ is who we have to learn from this is going to bring us to the right understanding of repentance and loving other people in deed and truth

hats all the tabexpected of us to live our daily lives as Christ taught us as he’s teaching us who believe

we don’t go out on our own but we don’t sit idle when he’s calling us to action

every day we run into situations where we can obey the lord or can do what we want to do that’s not in accordance with what he teaches his disciples

if we let Jesus be the leader and we become the disciples and followers

All of this goes away and we’d be walking by faith in him even when we don’t know a lot we walk by what we know this is going to lead to this place for us

and then it’s not going to be out how wonderful we are or how great our works are because we’d understand everything came from bekieving jesus . He redeemed us from sin and created us to do good works that aren’t a labor but have become what’s in our heart to do

it’s so simple it’s this for every man

if we don’t do that part we’ll never know what God said and wants from us. Too many of us make our own plans for what we’ll do for God but in Christ is where we find his plans for us in him and can learn and follow those plans

we have to forst lesrn from him then we can know how to live for him it has to be based on the gospel Jesus taught his disciples

I’m the gospel you learn what Gods Will is for you and then need to just believe it and walk after it the glory and works will be done by him if we will do that part and be his diciples

it’s truly just about faith in Jesus but that requires us to learn from him and believe it

So true this world does not satisfy...at times perhaps, but the longing is for something/somewhere else.
