Do you think Edward Snowden will be pardoned or exonerated?

Snowden has been on Joe Rogan three times so you can hear most of the key points behind his story.
It turns out that the surveillance program the NSA was doing was in fact illegal.
And I'm pretty sure something like 90% of Americans believe he should be pardoned.
So since Americans almost unanimously agree that he should be pardoned, it kind of makes me wonder why a president hasn't done it yet.

I think the govt is embarrassed he got away, and to RUSSIA, so they probably want to punish him for that, lol. He's going to have to make sure everything is settled and sealed before he enters any country.

Yeah basically the precedent here is that if you work for the government and report something illegal, no problem they'll just charge you with espionage and lock you up for the rest of your life

I hope so but doubt it.

Not by the current administration. He embarrassed the Obama administration, so I can't see it happening now.

I don't think he should be pardoned. He made a promise to not share classified information where it wasn't intended to be shared. While I appreciate what he did, there is a just price to pay for his actions.

President's haven't done anything about this because it hasn't benefited any of them yet. He is used as a political talking point usually.

But realistically he violated the terms of his contract so he will always be liable for that.
Morally he is a champion and a bit of an idealist because he showed the dirty work of what any government does in the background. Since most people know that governments lie to them, it's not too much of a big deal and he's mostly forgotten.
But he is a young idealist (at the time) because he had a nice job in Hawaii, a girlfriend, all expenses paid ... and he gave all that up for what he thought was morally wrong to live a hard life running away from airport to airport and he's now settled in Russia who's also using him as a political talking point.
