Would you rather be lost on a deserted island or be homeless?

Lost on a deserted island. In the movies, deserted islands often have coconuts and helpful tribesmen (and tribeswomen).

"Would you rather be Abram and leave your country and family into a distant unknown land, or Moses and responsible for building the Ark [of the Covenant?]"

(Girls can be Sarai or Zipporah, if it's too hard to imagine being a boy).

lol,

I would probably be Moses as he had instruction on how to build so it can't go wrong, right?

Would you rather give up meat and go vegetarian or eat meat and give up sugar?

Easy one. I'd rather eat meat and give up on sugar! I can't imagine not eating meat.

Would you rather live in Old Testament times (as a believing Israelite), and have all the laws and requirements clearly spelled out, or live in the early first century, where the law had been fulfilled in Christ, but before the New Testament was available and in the midst of the various controversies and heresies?

I'll take the old testament please. In the old testament you got land flowing with milk and honey which you did not work for, and there was no confusion as to how you should serve God. Wow what a life! 🥰

If you were a magician, which of these would you replicate for your audience: walking on water like Jesus or blowing on someone and making them fall like Benny Hinn?

I would blow on someone and make him fall over like Benny Hinn does to people. :) Easy to fake that (by paying the dude you blow on, or getting your bodyguards to convince him to fall down). I don't know how one would go about walking on water - that's a real miracle!

You finally meet the love of your life. But she (or he) is a princess (or prince), and you are very poor. But then her (or his) dad (or mom) says "Go and kill 100 Philistines, and bring me the proof that you killed them, and I will give her [or him] to you to marry!" Would you rather kill 100 Philistines to marry the girl (or guy) - like King David, or would you try to find some other way to get her (or him) to fall in love with you (e.g. by going on a date, or something)?

er what kind of bloodthirsty parents are these?

I would just say to the parents well how about you let your son preach the gospel and baptise 100 converts with me and then lets talk about marriage but it may not even be your decision, he might just leave you to do that anyway.

You have no money to pay the exorbitant entry fee/ticket to something you are dying to see. Would you rather find the tax in a fish or go pan handling?

I'd rather find the tax in a fish, but on the proviso that Jesus instructs me to do it. Otherwise, I suspect I'd have to catch more fishes than I care to even imagine.

Would you rather be sent to show God's mercy to people who you hated (e.g. Jonah), or called to show God's wrath to people who you didn't? (e.g. Judges 20)

show Gods wrath so that they could become saved.

Would you rather be alive back in the time Jesus walked the Earth or in the end times when he comes back and you will be alive to see it (which is sounding more and more like it could be very soon)

I'd rather be taken when Jesus returns.

Would you rather be a Paul, or a Silas?

Paul because he received so much teaching and revelation from Jesus

Would you rather be one of the boys that were in the fiery furnace or thrown into the lions den and the lions did not eat you but probably stalked you?

I think I would choose the lion's den and just order pizza for all the lions.

This is a great thread. I always enjoy the creativity of God's people.

Would you rather have the wisdom of Solomon or a written transcript of what Jesus said to the two men on the road to Emmaus?

Great point! :)

Definitely fiery furnace. For one, Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego (I forget their real names) had each other for encouragement, Daniel was by himself. For another, worshiping the statue was a very black and white issue, and easier to make a decision on. Not praying to God for a month, however... How would anyone have known, if Daniel had closed his windows to pray? I'd have been tempted to pray to God and hide it, if given the choice. Also, I'd hope/presume a fiery furnace would be a relatively quick death compared to savage lions.

Would you rather be Naaman the Aramean (healed from his leprosy), or the slave whose faith was so great that asked her mistress to send Naaman to the prophet in Samaria?

The wisdom of Solomon didn't seem to do much for him, sadly. And given we don't know how much of this life is left before the return of the King, I'd rather have the transcript of what Jesus said to the two men on the road to Emmaus. Good question. :)

Thomas who doubted. I see myself more like Thomas, wanting to prove a lot of things. Some of the things Peter said scare me, because I doubt I would be able to do them (and then I'd hate having failed if tested).

Would you rather be Esther (who had to marry a gentile king) or Jael (who had to hammer a tent peg into the commander of the Canaanite army)?

Would you rather be a beautiful Empress (Jenny, Lanolin, Ruby) or a wicked leader?
