We gather in this little room
To give honor to your Son,
To call again to memory
All the things that He has done.
We can but bow before you
And give You all acclaim
And sing sacred songs of praise
To our Savior's holy name.
Alas, we feel Your presence
As You promised You would come.
Yet guilt now fills our souls
As we are thoroughly undone.
In the awesome presence
Of One so holy and pristine,
We appear ever sinful,
Our flesh stained and so unclean.
Pardon us most holy Father
Though as crimson we appear.
Wash us whiter than the snow
And draw us ever near.
Because You are faithful to forgive
And cleanse us of all unrighteousness,
Our tongues are loosed to sing Your praise
And express our thankfulness.
There are none whose joy is greater,
Nor any so richly blessed,
Who stand before You as Your children
And in His righteousness are dressed.
Hear us, O God, incline Your ear,
As we present to You our cares.
In Jesus' name we make our pleas
That You provide our daily wares.
Heal the sick that dwell among us,
Open the unseeing eye.
Send forth both Your grace and mercy
That Your name You glorify.
And if it be so our prayers avail,
May it be so we Thee entreat:
Let this little room be filled
