So true! I tend to meet Christian men who are either so high on Christ they speak in parables and/or live at the church, or they are more like the casual/carnal Christian. I'm all in for bible study and Christian movies or documentaries, but balance is important. I would much rather move forward, not backwards.
Yes and this is why Im hardly in the Bible discussions forum or my brain will explode 🤣

I think it can be hard to find someone on the same path as you to walk with
You could ask them when they got saved and what their testimony is. If they got saved around the same time as you, your paths may have crossed at some point.
He was baptized at the age of 9 at a Baptist church, with his friend who was the PK. In his teens, he was confirmed in the Lutheran church with another friend. Then in his 20's briefly attended a Catholic church with is former spouse. He didn't start attending church again (non-denominational) until he met me. I know he listens and is learning. I had a similar path where I became a believer and was baptized young, fell away in my teens, and then the Lord called me back in my 20's. After that it was another long journey of more hills and valleys. Some self inflicted battle scars, but so thankful He truly never does leave or forsake those who are His. I know we all do not learn on the same level. I could be experiencing some of that patience training I prayed for years ago.:sneaky:

Thank you MsMediator for reminding me about the fruit of the spirit. I didn't forget about it, but I'm sensing the Lord is using others to remind me of it and how good character does speak volumes. Which is what he does have and has even taught me a few things. I think my issue has been that he and I are not on the exact same level and that is something I need to let go of. I do have friends I can have biblical/spiritual conversations with. He also has watched some christian movies/documentaries with me. I didn't mean to come across as though he's not interested at all. I should have worded my initial question differently. I guess it's just not the level of interest of what I had hoped. I have a feeling I'm being taught some more lessons. :sneaky:

I found dating Christians challenging in that they either showed little interest in discussing God and the bible because our levels of understanding were different or they wanted the title of a Christian but they were lukewarm in pursuing God. So I will say no, it has gotten to the point in my life that Im finding it difficult to NOT talk about God. Hes my favourite topic.
God is my favorite topic too. I talk to God all day long.

Is anyone on the exact same level as anybody else?
I dont even know what level I am on. I dont think being a christian is like a video game. I think as long as you moving forward it is progress.

I would think more its a matter of good soil whether you have a high yield of spiritual fruit. And that is why Jesus said to manure it and leave it for a year.

Which is why it would be best to just be friends. "Missionary dating" is never a good idea. As far as I know, he's working with rocky soil, but only God truly knows his heart. He doesn't talk about it, or doesn't like to talk about it. Which is why a friendship is best.

well Im on clay not rocks
Rocky soil is hard work because you may have to haul away the rocks but probably the easiest thing to do as add compost and manure on top if you dont want to transplant. The rocks are good for drainage.

It takes time as does all things. I dont see anything wrong with being friends its the best thing.

If you've always lived on good soil maybe you dont appreciate how hard it can be for others that dont.

You should be careful with statements like this when you don't know someone.
No, I have not always lived on good soil.

BTW, I could do without your composting techniques. Really unnecessary and lacking in sincerity. Maybe you should join the comedy section since that seems to be your goal here?

I appreciate everyone's input here. I'm done here. God bless.
