The topic brings up the issue of contrived reasoning rather than any technical discussion. It is not just restricted to flat Earth proponents but also those who present themselves as an authority in Earth and solar system sciences.

I have been dealing with this issue for over 30 years and from experience, few wish to make the necessary effort to arrive at correct conclusions, including the fact that the planet turns once every 24 hours and a thousand times in a thousand 24 hour days which we observe as one sunrise/noon/sunset cycle every 24 hour day.

The 23.9 hours, which NASA determines is the rotation period of the planet, is a mistake or rather a misadventure with timekeeping inherited from the late 17th century. A day is a timekeeping term, so there is really only the 24 hour day and how it developed from antiquity to more recent developments like the Lat/Long system where there are definite values attached such as the Equatorial rotation velocity of 1037.5 mph rather than the false 'sidereal day' value found in Wikipedia-

I feel that it is left to Christians to deal with the matter and even then they can expect to experience opposition from the same type of contrived reasoning that drives the unfortunate flat Earth people.

Just a reminder that the flat Earth theory, contrary to popular belief was not held by the medieval church. It is originary from an old Germanic pagan myth prior to the introduction of Christianity. The libel was invented by Marxists in the 19th century to undermine Christianity and promote their Satanic Darwinist agenda that is now indoctrinating your children with the homopedosado cult.

Further more we make huge assumptions that the scientists of antiquity were atheists, which is patently not true. Many were actual believers and even practicers of the faith.

An authority can't control eclipses. They are witnessed by people all over the world. Astronomers can predict them in advance.
There is one coming in April 2024. I remember the 1999 solar eclipse distinctly. It was expected and it happened. I didn't believe it because someone "told me so" I observed it. Our ancestors witnessed & recorded them.

I believe eyewitnesses. That's what the gospels are, eyewitness accounts. If you doubt the people who have seen the globe earth from the moon, you have no justification for believing the Bible.

These "authorities" (whoever they are) have been saying the same thing since at least ancient Greece. You have no authority whatever that can demonstrate a flat earth. It's never occurred to me that the earth might be flat. I've traveled enough of it by air and sea. If it was flat, I would know. You should get out more and see for yourself.

Of course I'm aware of that. However, the composite, oddly enough, matches the shape of the earth. If I had a jigsaw puzzle, I would expect it to match the picture it was formed from. As you say, the composite was made up of many aerial photos. It's also updated from time to time. It is also certain that at least one of the pilots would have discovered that the earth was flat.

Your attempt to discredit my statement simply proves that you have no logical reason to believe that the earth is anything else but a globe. It also shows that you are closed off to reality when it comes to this subject.

The wheels on my car spin and are not wobbly. I ride a bicycle. It has a computer that tells me the gradient. I can assure you that my legs tell me when I'm going uphill, when I'm on the flat and when I'm going downhill. The computer just tells me the percentage gradient. If you feel like you are walking uphill all the time, I'd get a health check. You may have heart or lung troubles.
