Hi I am a reborn Christian from Indianapolis, Indiana. My story is kind of interesting because I became a Christian when I was 5 years old but after after I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior and got baptized I kind of just stop thinking about God and Jesus Christ and didn't do anything much when it comes to doing Christian things except for go to church every once in a while but I didn't even do that every Sunday. When I did go to Church for years as a kid I just fell asleep during the sermons and I ate the snacks at Sunday school but didn’t really listen to the lessons taught. As a teenager I just looked at my phone while the sermons were happening so I never really let God into my life at all mostly and I didn't change at all. For a while I started not thinking that I was a Christian at all and now I'm just thinking that I have been a lukewarm Christian all my life. So starting today I am having a spiritual rebirth when it comes to my Christianity and I'm beginning again from the very beginning when it comes to changing my life and mind to become a great Christian.

Hi, and welcome to Christian Chat.

Thank you for sharing your experience.

I'm not meaning this as a criticism, but rather as an encouragement. I would like to suggest that your experience seems to have similarities to the parable of the prodigal son. The father didn't chastise the son upon his return, but threw a party for him.

Some of us went through our denominational traditions as youngsters, ie declaring our allegiance to our faith and being baptised, but in our latter years we found they hadn't made us a Christian. It's only when our spirit has been touched by God, born again, that we become a Christian. Then comes the hard part, of holding firm to our new found faith and staying close to Jesus, fending off the ways of the world and religious traditions that want to drag us back into the mire.

May you have a great time here on Christian Chat.

Shalom. 🙂

Welcome aboard CC GW

The thing that caused me to become a Christian was when i read the Bible in my early 20's.. I would recommend to anyone who wants to get real with their Faith to Read the New Testament at least... May the LORD guide you and may you be willing to be guided.. :)

You can grow a lot here. Make it a point to read the Bible and pray every day. At some point you’ll begin hungering for more if you aren’t already. There are a wide variety of beliefs here and you might not agree with all of them.

If I may recommend a few resources for you then I suggest getting a Bible app on your cell phone if you don’t already have one. Also, Bible Hub has been a great resource for me since they have a Strong’s concordance, Help’s Word Study, and a Greek Lexicon. Those are just tools that help study words in the Bible; very helpful!

Anyway, welcome.
