No laws of the Priesthood for He is out High Priest while we are mad priests to Him.

No laws of the Temple for He has revealed we are the Temple with Him as the Chief and Cornerstone thereof.

No food restrictions other than things which die of themselves and blood. Nothing by entering a man pollutes him for it enters into the stomach and then is passed out of the body.

No punishment of others for no law is to be observed which does not possess justice and mercy.

All remaining laws may be observed if they go together to make up Love.

Once we have been made anew by God we know what is yet to be obeyed for it is inscribed upon the flesh tables of the heart.

All who believe Jesus Yeshi Yah know this, and praise Jesus for accomplishing all.
PS The laws are also lessons, such as not to plant two kinds of seed in the same field. We understand this lesson from our Lord when He explains the Sower and what the Seed is.

Covered by His shed righteous blood, believers are no longer under the law of sin and death.

However, the law remains to condemn those not covered by grace through faith.

John 8:36 plus Romans 8:2 If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
For in Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set you free from the law of sin and death.

I suppose we should describe the Holy Purpose of the Law. The primary Purpose is to expose sin and what sin is, exactly.

Romans 7:7 NLT - "Well then, am I suggesting that the law of God is sinful? Of course not! In fact, it was the law that showed me my sin. I would never have known that coveting is wrong if the law had not said, "You must not covet."

If there was no Law, then there would be no offense. So the Law cannot be abolished, for the vast majority of people have unCircumsied hearts, thus the Law is necessary to expose sin as well as condemn. If the Law were abolished, then even those who have not received Spiritual Circumcision would be considered innocent, and most importantly, they would be free from the Curse of the Lord.

When Christ Circumcises a heart, the Law is fulfilled in an individual's life; thus, the Law is no longer needed for the Jew and for the Gentiles; no worldly law is capable of condemning us at a Spiritual level. And this is the entire Purpose for Christ, to Redeem His Holy Elect from the Curse. This is the "Heart" of the Gospel, to have the unregenerate heart Circumcised (which is what it means to be regenerated, to become incorruptible).

Certainly, an entire book could be written based upon this question, but this is a good start. Also, it is a most excellent question that all should devote a solid year to thoroughly understand it. I would recommend that a person read the entire Bible in a timeline, chronological order with this very question in mind as they read each daily reading. And if they did, they would walk away with an entirely new scope of understanding of what the Purpose of Christ is, what His Work is, and what the Effect of that Work is.

John 5:39
You pore over the Scriptures because you presume that by them you possess eternal life. These are the very words that testify about Me.........

God's requirements for man can be summed up in one word: obedience. Man's problem can be summed up in one word also: disobedience. Adam represented man in disobedience. Lord Jesus represented man once more, but this time in perfect obedience.

In Adam, all died. We are born dead in trespass and sin. In Christ, we are made alive once more. Through the death of Christ, I die too. My old nature that I inherited from Adam is dead and buried. I am new a new creation in Christ. I don't have to worry about fulfilling the Law. Jesus has done that for me. I don't have to worry about trying to be righteous. Jesus is my righteousness. He is everything that I should be but cannot be in myself. I am complete in Him.

When God looks at me, He sees His Son, not me in isolation. As I thank God, believe and declare these truths, it becomes real in my experience. That's what it means to me.

I think this is Jesus placing the law in its perspective to Him. He made Himself under the law and, by entirely fulfilling it, is placed over the law. So, although the phrase "above the law" generally has a negative connotation of it, that is for anyone other than Jesus who has the only legitimate claim to it. He ascended above and beyond its requirement of debt, and so is effectively awarded a tremendous refund (the lives of those that recognize His full incomprehensible value).

There were people on this earth before the law was given. What happened to them if they had no law in which to follow?
All of us know the story of noah and the judgement, but yet they were judged by God. If they had no law how did GOD judge.

God saw corruption, all the earth going to ruin. Marriage lost its sacred standing among men, "they took as wives whomever they chose," and I suppose as many as they chose. No one was special, and when no one is 'set apart,' or "sons of God" then everyone is common. However, Noah remained faithful, to his wife, and her to him.

Jesus promised not to destroy the law nor change one iota of the law. Instead, He raises the law to new heights, new understanding. All the Ten Commandments of the Old Testament are still valid, but Jesus let's us know that all these commandments are fulfilled/summarized in His new Commandment, "Love God with your whole heart, strength, soul and your neighbor as yourself. Do this and you shall have eternal life."

It's easy to see how Jesus' new commandment fulfills the Ten Commandments of the Old Testament, the Ten Commandments are God's rules for loving Him and our neighbor. Fulfilled, not destroyed, taking the law to a higher plane, a law of love of God and neighbor.

This is a reference to the Law of Moses ad Christ did indeed fulfil the Law of Moses by (1) being perfectly obedient to it, (2) fulfilling all the sacrifices in Himself, and (3) elevating the Ten Commandments so that they would become a part of the Law of Christ.

I hope this doesn't turn into another Sabbath-keeping thread. Jesus fulfilled that part of the law also,
so the commandment to
remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, was also fulfilled. Now Jesus is our
Sabbath rest. We rest from any works in order to be reconciled to God, obtain salvation, and attain to life
ever after. By grace through faith we are grafted into the True Vine, Jesus Christ. The Sabbath was a sign
of the Mosaic covenant, and those who put themselves back under the law enslave themselves to sin.

The Law is what brings us to Christ.

Therefore, the Law is 100% in effect, in order to show people their need for Christ.

Once a person sees this and understands and comes to Christ, the Lord Jesus gives them rest from their work at the law that they weren't able to complete.

ONLY the Lord Jesus, who fulfilled the Law, is able to give anyone Rest from their work at it. You can't just tell someone that the Law doesn't apply. The Lord specifically said He didn't come to destroy the Law.

The Law has a job to do. And it does it well. It is not destroyed. The Law is fulfilled in Christ. And ONLY in Christ. Only those who are In Christ are no longer under the Law. Only those who have traded their sorrow for the Joy of the Lord are not under the Law. Only those who have traded their shame for the Righteousness of the Lord are not under the Law.

Coming to Christ is simultaneously setting down burdens and receiving the Blessing of Christ.

It is important to keep us humble and keep us close to Christ.

Without the Lord Jesus we can do nothing. It is important to remember that.

It is also important to remember that the Lord Jesus has given us Rest from our work at the Law. Those people who try to put Christians back under the Law don't understand Christ and the Work of the Holy Spirit.

Maybe it's me, but you appear to be saying 2 different things here. How does the law keep us close to Christ, when it condemns and judges? But then you state it is wrong to 'put' Christians back under the law.

A little confusing? Or do I misread what you said? I would say it is the indwelling Holy Spirit who keep us close to Christ and not the law, while agree with what you say regarding Christians under the law.

I have come to fulfill the law not destroy it......Jesus
Jesus interprets it further

he says this before he died when he was among them

“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:17-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

so he says I’ve come to fulfill and says til all is fulfilled nothing can change later he explains what he was saying

“And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:44-48‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the law and prophets are a story about the gospel which was going to be fulfilled in Jesus Christ Jesus is saying this essentially

“For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:16‬

When John came the fulfilling of the law and prophets was coming to pass. If you look at the law closely there’s a lot of future promises in it regarding the messiah Jesus is saying “ I’ve come to fulfill what the law and prophets foretold until I do the law cannot be changed.

from Jesus birth to his life ministry , his miracles , his suffering on the cross and rising from the dead and being taken to heaven at Gods right hand all of that is in prophecy and the law Jesus brought those promises into fruition fulfilling what God said he would do for mankind in Christ
