Christ`s Seat of Power and Authority.

We know from God`s word that the Godhead, (Father, Son and Holy Spirit) are all equal, in unity and of the same mind. However in function there is a hierarchy.

At the source there is provision by the whole Godhead, then the Father initiates, the Son administers and the Holy Spirit is the direct agency.

Thus we see that it is the Father`s desire for His Son to administer rulership over all God`s great kingdom. (Eph. 1: 9 & 10)

Now we know that when Jesus ascended He went to the Father`s right hand on His throne.

`...far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come, and put all things under His feet...` (Eph. 1: 21 & 22)

The Godhead however is unseen, and dwells in unapproachable light. (1 Tim. 6: 16) Yet the Father desires that His Son will rule VISIBLY in His glorified exalted body.

The Father however has asked the Son to wait on the Father`s throne until He (the Father) has brought the Son`s enemies to His footstool, meaning for judgment. (Ps. 110: 1) (The Father has given the Son authority to execute judgment. John 5: 27)

Thus in the Father`s timing and appointment the Lord Jesus will be established upon His own throne, visible for angels and glorified man to see and worship.

`...a throne set in heaven...` (Rev. 4: 2)

`(Father) I have set my King on my holy hill of Mount Zion.` (Ps. 2: 6)

From there the judgments will begin - `And from the throne proceeded lighnings, thundering and voices.` (Rev. 4: 5)

`The LORD (Father) shall send the rod of your (Son`s) strength out of Zion. Rule in the midst of your enemies.` (Ps. 110: 2)

What are your thoughts?

My idea is that the management of Jesus is superior to all saints and believers, because the son obeys the will of the father, but we may not fully obey the will of the father.

Maybe my worry makes me think that saints and believers can't do better or the same as the son.

What God has arranged must be right.

Jesus is our king ,President, chairman, head of a state, we obey Jesus that is we obey the will of God, cuz Jesus is the will of God.

God's own words given to Isaiah:

Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

No hierarchy is displayed displayed in our Father's words to Isaiah. I do not understand the mystery of God's being , yet, by faith, I belie Him on the subject. The Bible words seem to say the Babe to have been born would be called by all titles know for God.

Hi Jaumel,

Good scriptures there of some of our Lord`s titles. He is also -

King of Glory. (Ps. 24: 7)

King of heaven. (Dan. 4: 37)

King of the Ages. (1 Tim. 1: 17)

King of Righteousness. (Heb. 7: 1 – 3)

King of the Jews. (Matt. 2: 2)

King of Israel. (John 1 : 49)

King Priest. (Heb. 6: 20)

King of the Nations. (Rev. 15: 3)

And finally King of Kings..... (Rev. 19: 16)

Hi Evmur,

Good point, that all will come under the Lord`s rulership as the Father has purposed. (Eph. 1: 9 & 10)

The heavenly city in the Universal realm will be the connecting of the spiritual and physical realms. That is why it is described as a `bride,` for the interlocking of the realms is through this city.

Through this vehicle, the city, God will dwell by His Holy Spirit with His people. (Rev. 21: 2 & 3)

One day at work back in 1968, when I was a young 24 year-old welder, one of
the designers came by area and asked me if I was ready for Christ's return.

Well; I must've been either asleep or absent the day that the nuns in
catechism talked about Jesus coming back because I hadn't a clue what that
man was talking about.

My initial reaction was alarm because I instinctively knew that were I called
on the carpet for a face-to-face with Christ, it would not go well for me
because I had a lot to answer for.

Well; I don't like being made to feel afraid so I became indignant and
demanded to know why Jesus wanted to come back. That's when I found out
for the very first time that it was in the plan for Christ to take over the
world.

The 24 Elders.

`Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and on the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white robes and they had crowns on their heads.` (Rev. 4: 4)

So who are these 24 Elders?

The new song they sing gives us their identity.

`You are worthy to take the scroll, and to open its seals; for you were slain, and have redeemed us to God by your blood out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation and have made us kings and priests to our God and we shall reign over the earth.` (Rev. 5: 9 & 10)

We note that `every tribe and tongue and people and nation` is more than 24. Thus we realise that these 24 Elders are representative of the overcomers, the Body of Christ.

Other details are important also.

Around the throne & on thrones - only for the Body of Christ. (Rev. 3: 21)

Kings and priests - only for the Body of Christ. (Rev. 1: 6)

White robes - washed in the blood of the lamb.(Rev. 5: 9)

Crowns of gold - promised (James 1: 12, 1 Thess. 2: 19, 1 Peter 5: 2 - 4, 1 Cor. 9: 24 - 27, 2 Tim. 4: 8)

Thus we see that the Lord the Royal (king) High Priest has His other royal (king) priests with Him. What a glorious celebration that will be, seeing the investiture of the Lord Jesus Christ in His glorified body, exalted visibly for angels and the overcomers.

Note all this precedes the tribulation which is when the Lord and His Body will judge the world system and fallen angels.

`Do you not know that the saints will judge the world?....Do you not know that we shall judge angels?` ( 1 Cor. 6: 2 & 3)

Any thoughts?

There are quite a few benefits associated with life in Messiah's kingdom.

The King will behave himself royally instead of like so many of the world's
dictators, despots, and cheap politicians. There will be justice for all; instead
of for only those who can afford it. The law will be tough on criminals.
There'll be no war, nor even a place to go and learn the art of war. The
animal world will no longer be one part predator and one part prey.

Poisonous snakes will be friendly instead of ready to strike at the slightest
provocation. Longevity will be increased. Prosperity will be commonplace.
Everyone will possess their very own piece of real estate. Nobody will need
to take medications for depression, anxiety, loneliness, and/or despondence,
i.e. cause for blue moods will be extremely rare if any at all.

Everyone will know, believe, and practice the same religion. Desertification
will be a thing of the past. Lands now useless for either habitation or
agriculture will be made pluvial. Areas denuded of their timber will once
again become forested, and plenty of fresh clean water will be available to
everyone everywhere.

Since there is no schism of nature between The Father, Son and Holy Spirit they may submit to each other and maintain their dominion of authority. The Father may humble Himself to appear as a man of the flesh; the Son may do only what He sees the Father doing; the Holy Spirit may speak only what He hears.

It seems, however, that the understanding of God as Son and God as Holy Spirit will only be necessary until God "is all in all".

"Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power."

and

"Now when all things are made subject to Him, then the Son Himself will also be subject to Him who put all things under Him, that God may be all in all."

This speaks of complete unity with God, of whose Spirit the saints are born. This is predicated upon the truth that the Son and the Spirit have always been in unity with the Father.

Hi Aaron,

While I agree with some of your comments, it appears you have a misunderstanding of the Trinity.

You said - The Father may humble Himself to appear as a man of the flesh;

God`s word says - `God (Father) so loved the world that He gave His only Son...` (John 3: 16)

You said - It seems, however, that the understanding of God as Son and God as Holy Spirit will only be necessary until God "is all in all".

God`s word says - `He (Father) might gather together in one all things in Christ, both of which are in heaven and which are on earth - in Him.` (Eph. 1: 10)

Revealing that all things will come under the Lordship of Christ.

Come on, M. You know me by now. I don’t make empty claims. I would rather you see challenges such as, why are two of the Godhead relationships and one is the Spirit. Or, forgiveness of sin and redemption end at the judgement, so they lose their function as God’s will progresses so they are not eternal doctrines. Or, what need is there for a Savior when the full measure of men have come in and the age closes. When we are in Him, and He is in us, as One, there will be God. When God is all in all, All is God. These are matters for the mature, not misunderstandings.

Actually I don`t remember talking much to you, however I have seen your confusion regarding the Godhead.

We will FOREVER need to be covered by the blood of Jesus. Then rulership in all of God`s great kingdom will need the Lord`s wisdom and holy character functioning throughout FOREVER.

It is NOT magic, fairy land.

Everyone will know God, that He is Lord of heaven and earth .... but not all with saving knowledge. Christians talk more about Christ reigning with a rod of iron than they do about the multitudes who will live in peace and prosperity learning the ways of the God of Jacob.

Nobody in the OT really knew how the next dispensation [the gospel age] would pan out. They believed in it but they did not really understand what they were prophesying.

It is the same with us and the Millennium some of us know it is coming, we see many of it's characteristics in scripture but we do not know how it will all work out on the ground.

It seems to be a mix of law and grace.

Hi Evmur,

Good point there about people emphasising the `rod of iron,` and not the peace and prosperity in the millennium.

Now God`s word tells us that the 12 Apostles and the OT saints will be in the city, the New Jerusalem but not in the highest realm.

`...you who have followed me will also sit on 12 thrones, judging the 12 tribes of Israel.` (Matt. 19: 28)

` the wall of the city had 12 foundations, and on them were the names of the 12 apostles of the Lamb.` (Rev. 21: 14)

`the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming DOWN OUT OF HEAVEN FROM GOD.`... `(Rev. 21: 2))

`now they (OT) desire a better, that is a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.` (Heb. 11: 16)

Marilyn.
