Though I imagine that person has long sense left I am hopeful for them. Their first few posts revealed a heart that genuinely wants to learn and understand and seemed to be coming from a place of love , acceptance and openness.

I always tell people to be aware of their own echo chambers. If everything you read, watch and are told comes from something like just one interpretation by heterosexuals who says it’s evil then that’s all you will know. All scripture will be filtered through that preconceived idea.

So I suggest looking at a wide range of work on this subject. See what all these groups have to say and study their work and east their books and listen to their podcasts.

1. Active homosexuals who identify as Christians.

2. Inactive homosexuals ( gay people who reject it and choose to be celibate or get with the opposite sex anyways and pray it all works out) who also identify as Christian.

3. Heterosexual Christians who believe the Bible teaches same sex relationships are ok.

4. Heterosexual Christians who believe the Bible teaches it’s a sin.

Get out of a echo chamber and look up opposing views and counter arguments. Spend some time meditating on scriptures and trying to see their point of view.

Then decide what makes best sense to you.

this is the issue with what you are saying and it is Truth.

1. the false narrative of saying Active homosexual who identifies as Christian. This is a false statement and deceptive at its origin. If one is a Christian they are to identify with Christ. Not a sexual preference but the very word of God.

2. inactive homosexual who rejects it and chose to be celibate? Get with the opposite sex anyway and prays it all works out? Who also identifies as Christian.

This is a humanistic approach to sin( while trying to stay a Christian) and one who has not been set free from the sin of sexual idolatry. AS if God would be so impressed with my ability to be celibate yet my heart is still bound with perversion. That is not freedom. And Christ sets the person free. Much of what has been said in all the things in 1-4 are worldly positions mixed with Christian language. Using human rationale to justify sin and prop a false narrative of homosexuality is a kind of race of people.

here is the heart of the deception:

Christians are not to decide what makes the best sense to them but obey the very word of God. And submit to God resist the devil and he will flee from you. WE are to take the full counsel of God's word and apply it to our lives. The carnal mind will always gravitate to the things that bring pleasure to the flesh. Sexual sin is the strongest one of them all.

A homosexual is no different than a person addicted to pornography. Many people who had their first homosexual experience did so after being bound to pornography. They never even thought of being gay but the sexual experience brought pleasure and a stronghold in their life.

When a person comes to Jesus He doesn't refuse them. Yet that person must leave and cleave to Jesus and the word of God.

That cannot happen if they hold to the false narrative above.

A Drug addict, homosexual, fornicator, drunkard, etc. will not remain free after and in counter with Jesus if they do not do the following:

1. Separate yourself from " friends" who are not chritians and still engage in the addiction listed above or any for that matter.
2. has no prayer life and is not empowered with the Holy Spirit and the word of God
3. doesn't receive godly counsel and applies it to their life.
4. has the Understanding being tempted is part of the battle while we all are in the flesh Jesus was tempted in all points as a man yet HE did not sin. Temptation is a suggestion from the devil and the flesh from past experiences you are known to give into. There is victory over this in Christ. Not appeasement. No compromise, not word games and phrases. The Truth. The Way, and The life all in Christ.

Upfront (not that it matters), I am not gay.

That being said, I don't know how I feel about whether or not being gay and acting on it is a sin or not...but right now, I'm thinking that it's not. Again: I DON'T KNOW ECACTLY HOW I FEEL.

I know all of the verses that people use to point out that it is wrong and not how God created it.

BUT, I've also heard views on the other side of it. I also study a bit of ancient history in school and know that man-on-man action in the Bible wasn't what it is today. Then, it was talking about rape and that has never been ok. (I also don't have all the facts on this.)

I know Christians who are gay and are ok with God. They feel that it is not a sin (and I know they aren't justifying their sin by saying this--they've actually experienced God's comfort in who they are with this...meaning that they are gay).

So, I was wondering if anyone on here is gay and would like to share how they feel in their relationship with God on this.

Comments from straight people are welcome, too, of course.

Homosexuality is not the unforgivable sin and can be repented for and turned away from, but realize that God considers it to be an abomination worthy of death and a perversion of that which is natural. I don't expect there to be any gay pride parades in heaven but rather great shame and embarrassment for some. I realize this is an unpopular teaching in today's world, yet it is the word of God and should be taught to our sons and daughters. God loves the children He created and has opened the door to salvation through Jesus Christ to whosoever will come to Him with a repentant heart in truth and love. May God grant us all the power to overcome our weaknesses.

Well, if you struggle with same sex attraction, that can be the case even for Christians. However, if you claim to be a "Christian" and live a gay lifestyle, then you are deceived...

God hates this, God created a MAN and after that, from the part ot that man created a woman. All people, who announce that they are christians and also announce that "if you are a g*y, that is not a problem, God loves you", they are liars! They are liars!!! Because our God says that NO HOMOSEXUAL WILL ENTER THE KINGDOM OF GOD!!! And how they say that God doesn't hate this! If we are to go by the Bible, and take every word literally, every instruction and apply it to today, I think there would be some problems. My parents did not stone me to death when I was disobedient - and I was very disobedient in my teen years! Personally, i do not care if someone is gay or not. I have friends who are gay, and it's never been a problem. They don't hit on me or make inappropriate advances. Some people say being gay is not a choice, but I argue there is choice involved. You can choose to act upon your attraction or not. My best friend at work is gay, and he chooses NOT to act upon his attraction because he is extremely shy.
We often talk in church circles as if being straight is a license to sin. It is not. I had two girlfriends that broke up with me because I wouldn't do the nasty with them. Let's not assume all gay people are jumping into bed with everyone that comes along.
My concern is with the popular trend of people changing their gender. This is scary stuff. I was watching a talk show the other day where the host was interviewing someone with a woman's name, with long hair and dressed very feminine, but as soon as the person started talking it was obvious this was a man speaking. Seeing the person's face up close also verified this was a man. The thought crossed my mind "what if I had found this person attractive? Would that make me gay?" I believe that's what their goal is: confusion. What happens when a man goes out on a date with someone he believes to be a woman, then finds out the person was born male? Gender dysphoria used to be looked at as a mental disorder. Now people are encouraged to mutilate their bodies. As if it's not enough that we're born in a sin-stained body. This is why I look forward to the life after this one - we will no longer be imprisoned in these sinful bodies, we will be free, for in Christ, there is no male or female, we are all one.

Your argument is not Biblical it is opinionated. Nor do all Christians take the bible literally, but contextually and look at what the text says to see if it is Figurative, literal, or symbolic.

The only word or opinion that matters is What God says about the topic. God doesn't change with culture. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. And God said, and it is literally FOUND IN Leviticus NASB, "You shall not sleep with a male as one sleeps with a female; it is an abomination. "..

For your information, there has not been a stoning of people for being homosexual for some time unless you are speaking of Islam rADICAL WHO THROW THEM OFF 4 STORY BUILDINGS.

The reason why we don't stone them anymore nor would I want them to be stones , I want them to get Saved! and repent of their sins and turn from homosexuality as I would the adulterer, the thief, drunkard, and addicted.

The fact is they are not wanting to practice safe sex. They have many partners and have no self-control. Just as those who are addicted to porn, many who are gay are the root cause of homosexuality and many other sexual sins. Why?

Because they have been overcome by "sexual Idolatry. They are bound by this sin because they love it more than what God said, DO NOT DO.

They will not be stoned by God, but if they do not repent and turn from this sin as all who do not, Hell is the final place for them and all who do not come to the Lord Jesus Christ and turn from their sins. That's what God said, NOT me.

So what I would take from that quote is, it's okay for me to sleep with a woman, but wrong for me to sleep with a man. So when my girlfriend was pestering me to go to bed with her, I should have done it.

You are incapable of understanding biblical context.

It never seems to amaze me how one can read what was said and ignore it to make a comment that was never said or suggested by the post.

What you and your girlfriend do is between you and her.


But the Bible teaches if you are not married, and having sex, it is fornication.

And if you are living with her and not married, you are disrespecting her.

The context of my my post in 1555 :

Is that Man shall not lie with a man as he does women.

YET to lay with women, the understanding they are to BE Married was already established as a normative in scripture.

God did not need to say four times that when a man and women have sex, they are to be married and not of the same sex.

When your heart is right, you do not look into the word of God to see what Sin I can do; we are to look at the word of God to see what not to do and move close to God in a relationship with HIS Son.

YOU CAN NOT BE GAY AND BE A CHRISTIAN!!! that lifestyle is totally against what God teaches. there is not a single verse in the Bible that teaches gay activity is alright with God. when a gay person becomes born again, (completely & totally surrendered to God), the chances of him immediately forsaking that sin is nil. but if he truly tries & improves with every temptation & with the help of the Holy Spirit & Jesus, & his will to forsake the sin forever, he will remove that activity & understand that it is wrong & a temptation of the devil.

You can't use the marriage argument against gay people, because they are allowed now to be married. If the catch all is "you must be married", then many gay couple fit that qualifier today. If it is all about being married, then a gay couple can sleep with each other all they want.

You assume I am looking into the Bible to see what sins I can get away with. Not at all. I'm not gay, so I have nothing to gain from this argument. I'm just tired of seeing Christians beat up on gay people. We hold straight people up as the the norm, as the way people should be. Oh, except when they are single. Then they are all condemned to hell, because we have all sinned, we have all slipped at times, so throw all the single people into the fiery pit - unless, somehow, miraculously, they have resisted the raging hormones within them. We give married couples an "out" - "oh, it's okay, you're married". But we somehow expect super human strength from singles to resist temptation.

Let's show a little more compassions towards those who are struggling. They need our encouragement, not our condemnation.
