Do you believe in (OSAS) Once Saved, Always Saved?

So let's discuss the doctrine/issue of so-called Conditional Security vs Eternal Security. Do you believe in Once Saved, Always Saved? I believe Salvation is a Combination of the Grace of Justification+the Grace of Perseverance i.e. Salvation=Justification+Perseverance. So, after Justification, we must pray for perseverance, otherwise we risk being cut off or falling away, as the Bible records that some have done. By God's Grace, we can persevere to the end.

The famous saying of Our Lord is: "But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved." (Mat 24:13)

Three or four passages to start off the discussion below:

1. John 15: "2 Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit ... 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned."

Seems to be echoed in Romans 11:22: "22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off."

2. Heb 6:4-6:
"4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,

5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."

3. 2 Pet 2:20-22:

"20 For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

21 For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

22 But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire."

These verses very clearly seem to teach that Justification!=(not equal to)Salvation. Initial Justification+Final Perseverance = Full Salvation. Thoughts?

I don't believe in OSAS. You have cited many references to disprove it. My favorite reference for the negation of OSAS is the parable of the sower and the seed. The sower is Jesus and the seed is the gift of faith. Many will receive the seed into their hearts, only later to lose it through the snares/thorns and things of the world strangling their faith.

The facts about losing your mortal flesh behavior does sound like two people being one saved soul, the other woke up spirit all happening in same body, looking outside for God kingdom to materialize but never does that flesh soul can only see it, not understand where it is, the spirit does experience it and does go to it after flesh goes back to dust.
Romans 2:28For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh: 29But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
Saul became Paul in one body that does die to flesh needs to see, touch, waits, go to temples, churches, bla, bla, till you go inside yourself as Paul (Christ) in you awake. Not by studying letters until you experience it first then you understand wake not saved.

2. The believer is born of God.

3. Christ will raise every believer up at the last day.

John 6:44-47: “No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, and they shall be all taught of God. 4. The believer has already passed from death unto life.

5. The believer is not the object of God’s wrath.

John 3:36: “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”

6. Believer are God’s sheep.

John 10:2-4: “But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out. And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.”

7. The believer will not listen to nor follow a stranger, but will flee from him.

John 10:5: “And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.” (The stranger here is Satan and his false teachers.)

8. The believer is known of God.

John 10:14: “I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.”

9. The believer listens to the voice of the shepherd.

John 10:27: “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

10. The believer is in Christ’s hand and cannot be plucked out.

John 10:28: “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”

11. The believer is in the Father’s hand and cannot be plucked out.

John 10:29: “My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.”

12. The shepherd is charged with the responsibility of keeping the sheep.

13. The believer is not condemned.

Jesus prays that the believer may be kept from the Devil. Was this prayer answered?

20. The believer shall never hunger.

21. The believer will in no wise be cast out (Not under any circumstance).

John 6:37: “All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.”

22. Christ will not lose a single believer.

John 6:39: “And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.”

23. Christ will raise up the believer at the last day.

John 6:38-40: “For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. 32. The believer is to be like Christ.

33. The believer is kept by the power of God.

1 Peter 1:5: “Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”

34. The man who believes shall be saved.

35. The believer has been saved.

36. The believer is hid by God in Christ.

Colossians 3:3: “For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.” Can the devil find that which God hides?

37. The believer shall not come into condemnation.

The believer made righteous through Christ’s obedience.

67. Because all things work together for good to the believer.

68. Because the believer is so helpless that he cannot place his sins upon Christ. God must do it for him. Therefore salvation is by grace.

Isaiah 53:6: “All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

69. Because Christ did not come to help us, but to save us.

89. Because the believer’s salvation is begun and finished by Christ.

94. The believer cannot perish.

Do you believe that "self" is divisible? Why or why not?

And if self is divisible, is the whole "self" saved or only part? Are there different kinds of self?

If we are purified, if self is not divided, what is burned away?

What is self?

We need to first look at the question of "self" before we can come to a resolution on "once self is saved, is self always saved?"

We are under a earnest agreement which was a transaction paid in full by one party as a promise agreement or seal of what was to come. The agreement stood if the other party stayed within the agreement. Everything in scripture related to salvation is about faith. Faith is the only thing required. Without faith we could not please God.

The OSAS eliminates free will due to their interpretation of depravity, the elect, predestination, and the preservation of the saints. While ignoring all scriptures to call for a choice to believe and repent.

It makes God the author of moral evil and makes men unaccountable to sin. God predestined most to Hell while a few to Heaven.

They try to say faith is work but neglect the two Greek words pistis and pisteuo. One being a gift while the other being motivated by the Spirit of God and will of man.

Sometimes I believe in once saved always saved, and sometimes I don't. After listening to a Once Save Always Saved podcast, that I have come to the conclusion that either OSAS or Conditional Security, is twisting the word. I'm just not sure which one.

Sure, once you are resurrected you will not be resurrected again.

I never really cared that much about the resurrected part. I always figured that no matter who is right, once your resurrected and in Heaven it no longer matters.

Salvation is a choice. A consistant, continuous choice. Yes, God gives the strength to continue, & continue we must. Believing in the Lord is a continuous, increasing action. If memory serves me right, the word 'believe' is present perfect tense. The present perfect reflects the past, but its reflection on the past connects the past to the present. The present perfect is often used to express a past event that has present consequences. The events described by present perfects are not necessarily completed. It is the individual's daily choice to keep believing in Christ.
Therefore, it's not a "once and done" thing.
This is why those falling away do so. They serve a different Jesus, & follow a different gospel.

That is incorrect. The seed is the Word of God (the Gospel). And the eternal security of the genuine believer is guaranteed by God.

Our salvation is very simple. We are saved BY grace THROUGH faith.
God gave us grace to believe in Christ, so we should make it through life by believing in the Lord.
So, no, I don't believe in OSAS. It is totally our choice. God doesn't force christians into submission. we voluntarily believe.
