Hello, my name is Jerry. I've been a lifelong christian, but, largely spiritual, as I called it. I had an awakening. Not sure what, though, but I do know it was in April. I felt moved to get a bible (Amplified Study Bible) and started watching Christian YouTubes, in particular, Lions of Judah. I've started correcting my behavior and praying. I'm not in fear of my life, but my soul. I stopped watching porn, stopped cursing, though, people around me still curse. I still fail and curse at times. I am regretful when I do so. Whereever I could see that I'm sinning, I try to fix. I have some things to fix with my wife, my second wife. I don't know how to fix my divorce. All I can do is ask for forgiveness.

I pray but I'm not the most eloquent. I've been hard of hearing since I was three years old. I'm now 59 years old. To be honest, I'm not sure if I'm born again. There was no big revelation or insight or issues with problems. I just felt moved. I'm still not sure what I'm supposed to do. I do know that I need to fix my sins and where I can, apologise to those people I've wronged. As for my life, I had to deal with my hearing loss. I wear aids and do okay except I found that people treat me differently, especially if they don't know me well. I have a friend at work who curses like a sailor but bless his heart and soul, he's treated me like a person and talks to me.

Anyways, God, bless everyone, especially the children. Amen

Brother Jerry, first welcome, next, there is not a soul here who could even think about going to heaven after one die's if Jesus does not consider his own Word for everyone!! (Phil 4:7-9!!!) All he wants from us is to BELIEVE HIM!!! and BE Thankful!!(1 Thess 5:18) His very will!! And if we really do believe, then we act like it!!!(James 1:22) We will have faults brother, but because you are now a saint!!(1 Cor 1:2) Your sins as well as all of us who believe have been and will always stay forgiven!! SO, FEAR NOT!!!! ONLY BELIEVE!!!! (Mark 5:36!) Blessing brother and again welcome to the race in victory through our Lord Jesus!!(2 Cor 2:14)

My name is Jerry too. Sounds like you are now on the right track. I fail at times too, but God reaches out to me, gets me on my feet, dusts me off and sends me forward once again in a positive direction. I've been divorced too. Nothing worth fixing there. You are correct in saying that all you can do is ask for forgiveness. Same is true for me too. Glad to have you as part of our community. God bless you also. Welcome to CC.

Even Paul, the greatest defender of our faith, said, "And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came
to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God." :)

Nice to have you joining the fellowship and thanks for the sincere Intro. Sounds like wearing a hearing aid might be a mixed blessing, when the man at work starts cussing you can turn him off, lol. Hope you find many topics to chime in on and God bless you and your family!

Greetings, and welcome.

I am also new to the forums, so we are experiencing the kindness of the members together.
I also use the AMP Bible (well, my main Bible is parallel KJV/AMP). I am very happy that God word is speaking to you through it, and have received your awakening.
Do not be afraid of making mistakes, we are not perfect; I am the ultimate demonstration of imperfection, as I have many flaws (hence my username). In God, we ask for guidance, and He shall show us the path we need to take.

I wish every success for your journey, and look forward to seeing you around the forums.

P.S. Everyone's journey is different, so embrace your own unique journey.

Welcome to the forum. :)

As far as what to do, maybe put your best foot forward and find a good church to attend.

Yes, but I need to be very discerning as to which one. I'm a conservative and not into the alphabet people and other leftist insanity. I feel that if you leave me alone and I'll leave you alone. Live and let live. I also don't want one who'll tell me to get a vaccination shot. I haven't gotten one and never will. I'll have to attend a church on Sunday and listen and watch. I'll start with the Methodist church that I have attended as a teen and go from there.

Stay conservative. :) The Catholic Church is the full fruit of the Church. In other Christians religions, they deny some of the Bible but accept most of it. You can't do that. Wondering why the Eucharist is considered THE BODY OF CHRIST in the Catholic Church? In the bible, at the Last Supper, Jesus broke the bread and gave it to his disciples saying This is my body. Alot of people left at that point. Now, Jesus could have said, "Wait! Don't leave it was a metaphor." No. He kept his word, and continued with the chalice, saying This is the chalice of My Blood. He meant it. Ask me about other things.
P.S. This was meant to be in a friendly comment

Hmm...interesting. Isn't it the Catholic Church's position that if you're divorced, you're excommunicated? While I seem to remember attending a Methodist church in my teens had the bread and wine (grape juice) ceremony. I don't remember if it were called Eucharist or something else. Anyways, my memory is hazy about that time. God Bless you.
