Politics is just another cause for division and it diverts many from the truth.
Politics is in fact spiritual warfare at another level, and impacts on every aspect of peoples' lives. So Christians must expose and rebuke the works of darkness and encourage those who stand for righteousness. When God says that He requires justice and mercy, that directly impacts on politics (which has been thoroughly corrupted) and the judicial system (which has also been thoroughly corrupted). So just as Daniel did not walk away from "politics" Christians should fight the good fight in this realm. Imagine the difference it would make if POTUS and SCOTUS held to Christian values.

Seems about evenly split. We are told to pray for those who are in authority over us. I am sure the quick retort would be that Jesus is over us, so does He need our prayers? You have a choice. Vote because believe it or not, saying everyone is evil and you won't vote for the lessor evil, means you really do not have the right to complain. You took no action. Imagine if parents had not found out what their children were being taught regarding CRT, BLM and sex at five years of age and being told they don't have to be the sex they were born with.

Imagine if no one ever questioned abortion or murder or rape or theft? They are not the same you say? Well then dig down in your basement and hope for the best because God is not going to force you to do a thing. Just don't ask Him why later on if you refuse any involvement in the world you live in.

Do I like politics? No. Cannot stand them. All men are liars just like God states and women are pretty good at it too. We have an entire country being savaged and destroyed while the rest of the 'free' world says they cannot be involved because they don't want to escalate the situation.

2 Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, I Tim. 2: 1-3

It is good and acceptable to be involved. Stand by and do nothing and when it knocks on your door? Well just let them in because Jesus is your King. I think the same thing goes on in many if not most churches. A one hour sermon and then football or some other sport in the afternoon. It's not your responsibility. After all, what about the Pastor. Aren't we paying him?

Well we had Trump saying he was a Christian for 4 years and I don't see it. However what has taken his place by breaking all voting laws, is not representative of most people in this country and would kick God out of heaven if they thought they could so they just kicked Him out of most public places instead.

I think the older generation of Republicans are almost as bad as the Democrats. They all play footsie and it's always about the money and power. I totally agree about spiritual warfare though.

Trump was an immature Christian. I wish people could stand back from the trees and look at the forest! And stop being brainwashed by the media, etc.
Compare what was happening with Trump with what is happening today.
Putin is flying nuclear bombers around the edges of Ukraine and we want to shoot them down! The pandemic is not Covid, it's stupidity!
Mass formation stupidity!

Are you saying that anyone who questions Trump's 'Christianity' is brainwashed by the media? I already compared Trump to what is going on today. Did you miss that? You can have an opinion, but that does not make everyone else brainwashed. With Paula White as one of his spiritual advisors, I would think he would be mixed up since that woman has created her own religion. Trump knew her long before he became President.

I would agree if you said the pandemic is deception but I don't agree with your conclusion regarding stupidity.

Russia is exhibiting British POWs. A thousand M-1 tanks are in Romania. Last I heard, though it's been awhile since the media is not talking about it. White and Trump's faith are branches on a tree in a forest. The forest is on fire.

A Brit just reported on Stupt-Tube that the British MSM is reporting 1,000 cases of a new Covid strain and say that it may be the most dominant one yet. Oh, no, Mr. Bill...the sky's falling...again!

I have chosen to be a part of a kingdom that is ruled by the King of Kings. The citizens of this kingdom are not tied to one geographic location, but are scattered throughout the kingdoms of this world. These are salt and light and are ambassadors of the heavenly kingdom. The laws and rules that I follow are those of my King. Yes, I will also obey the laws of the earthly kingdom that I live in (but only when those laws do not conflict with the Divine law).

So, I do not participate in the politics of this earthly kingdom. And as such I will not go to war (when an earthly King asks) and kill heavenly citizens that live in another geographic location.
Would you defend your family against and intruder? your neighbour, your block, town, Our kings tells us there is no greater love then to lay down ones life for another ,,

We all know where the world is heading. God's plan will not be thwarted. However, I do take part in the citizenship of the world.
I spent 9 years in the USAF and proud to have served. I chose to support the road that Trump was leading us down rather than the wholesale destruction of morality that we are witnessing now. I have no illusions, though. The power of Satan's deception is probably much greater than we can understand and we have no way of knowing where Trump's road would ultimately lead us.

I have not abandoned my interest or input in the political world. However, I watch and wait with a whole new perspective ever since God let me know that he would help me if (not when) I needed him. And I do.

Certainly. But, mankind won't be building it for him.
We should keep the faith and endure.
Love and help each other.
Share our testimony.
Share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

No. Jesus himself never shied away from politics. The circumstances surrounding His execution on the cross were very political.

One of the reasons we are called to participate in the political process is to PREVENT nations from going to war and aligning the laws of our earthly kingdoms with the laws of the heavenly.

I'm not sure why when people say something is divisive, they say it like it's a bad thing. Jesus said himself that he was and is divisive. he didn't come to bring peace, he came to bring a sword. Swords divide stuff. The only people he wanted to be one were the people that had his doctrine. If you have his doctrine, you won't be divided from other people that have his doctrine- but you're gonna be divided from everyone else. You're gonna be divided from your family or people you care about over Him. You're gonna be divided from "christians" that don't really follow him, and aren't worthy of him. That's how it is.

Isn't that how we build His Kingdom?
Well I think we are basically on the same page.
I just think that God's kingdom will come with, or without, our help.
It's more about whether we want to be a part of it and to help others to do so, as well.
So, yes, we are helping to build that which will be built regardless.
God does not need us. He loves us. That's different.

Sorta agree while thinking He does need us ? if not would He have sent Jesus to the Cross?
Seems once again i am taking a thread off topic.. so i will not respond

Hopefully :)

While I’m certainly not a political activist, I do engage in discourse with others and vote. My closet friend at this point is a self proclaimed Buddhist/Agnostic who is also a far-leftist. Our conversations are interesting to say the least.

It depends on what the Lord is telling you to do. Is God telling you to go preach the gospel and not run for any political offices then don't become a politician. You would be correct in walking away from it and choosing the path God is calling you to.

Can another Christian hear the call to do both, become a politician, help make changes in their community, and also work with their local church to reach their community with the Gospel? Yes.

But I do think we should all walk away from endless negative venting about what we hear or read in the news as if that is called politics. That is not politics that is just venting, and it does nothing. We should also walk away from making or spreading any false accusations toward others when we don't have all the facts which is what many Christians do when they vent about the things they hear in the news or on the internet. Walking away from all that and staying away from it is not walking away from politics it is walking away from sinning with your lips and thinking sinful thoughts.

Walking away from politics would be when someone has been given the opportunity and means to run for an office, and would probably win, and they make the decision to "let the dead bury the dead" and go and preach the Gospel as a fulltime evangelist instead. That is noble also, if that is what God told you to do. Preaching the Gospel is the most effective agent for change the world will ever know. Someone getting saved from your preaching will solve more society issues than getting a law changed.
